Loved your game ! The character is really cute and the music is very relaxing.
The automatic camera movement when colliding with things is a bit unpredictable and makes it hard to orient yourself on the island but nothing unbearable.
Great game, loved the intro screen effect and the particles. I wish you to make BIG MONEY out of it.
Wow, this was quite an experience ! I'm guessing that there is some Voronoi Diagram involved and some kind of iterative refinement between frames but I can't figure out how you did it exactly. I would love to see the source code.
It's a big difficult to orient yourself at first because the lights are included in the effect, you could maybe render them separately like you do with the stars.
Amazing game ! You got so much done in such a short amount of time ! I liked the fact that there are so many different ways you can play, even at the first stage.
I found your game quite hard but enjoyable when I had unlocked the power-ups. I had trouble figuring out where I was because the background is all gray. A grid would give a better feeling of the speed and movement. Event better would be a grid that changes color based on the distance to the starting position. I felt that not being able to orient myself was a big issue because I lost myself when trying to go back to some coins I had seen before.
Cool entry ! The gameplay reminds me of the game SPORE but there is no other creature. I guess the senses after smell are supposed to be interactions with them. The graphics are great, in particular the way the tail of the creature moves. The music made the atmosphere very relaxing.
The sound effects at the end were very succesful at communicating a 'rise from nothing' / 'emerging from sleep' feeling.
The idea is interesting. I thought that the elements in the 'toolbar' were unavailable at first because they are all gray. Changing the color would probably be enough to make it more clear.
The achievement system appears to be a bit broken when you restart a game because I got some achievements without doing anything. I also found it difficult to correlate the entries in the TODO-List with the names of the achievements that are displayed. You could cross out the TODO-List when a task is done or change its colors.
@c0d3d Thanks, I knew some people would have issues with the controls. Blocks appear based on the speed of the player so I have to decrease the player speed slowly to fade out the blocks.
The engine is mine, I wrote it in C++ using the SDL2 for the platform layer and OpenGL for the rendering. You can download the source code of the game and the engine on the itch.io page *Dissipate_SOURCE.zip*.
Loved the Link Awakening's aesthetic but the game files are soooo big !
Great game ! I don't feel like the platforming bit was necessary but you had an awesome idea for the puzzles
The game feels nice to control and play. The concept is very original, i don't think i have ever played a spinning top battle game. The music really fits the frantic gameplay. Nice entry !
The game feels nice to control and play. The concept is very original, i don't think i have ever played a spintop battle game. The music is very fitting.
The game is a bit strange and the mouse controls are hard but you nailed the theme. The models are great but you really need some kind of shadows so that the players can understand how the space is organized. Good concept !
Really nice entry !
The music is nice and the visuals are simple but it makes it easy to understand what's going on. The game looks fun but the weapon spread is so frustrating, i can't hit enemies even when very close to them. Nice entry.
We had the same idea ! Our game has different mechanics than you do but the concept is the same. Very nice to see another interpretation of the same idea. The game is great !
The concept is really nice. The automatic camera is surprising at first but it works very well because of how the world is organized. The text was not always very readable because of the color but it's an easy fix. Nice original entry !
You have a great hand-drawn aesthetics. It's nice to have a little story and introduction as it's not very common in jam games, and there is a nice bit of humor in the dialogues ! The background music is great and does not feel repetitive. I really liked your game, it was very original !
The character animations / controls feel are a bit stiff. The background music is great to set the tone of the game and the visuals have a nice vintage touch. Not sure how much it fits the theme but it's a great start for a game.
The game seems great but i can't figure out how to play. It would be nice to have a bit more explanations.
The idea is great and very original although not very accessible as non-programmers will have a hard time understanding what your game is about. There are only three puzzles which is a bit short but i liked the concept.
The concept is a bit obscure and i had a bit of difficulty understanding what was going on, but the game was quite fun when i understood it finally. As you already have a textual tutorial, you could always indicate that you need to draw something with the mouse. You could also reduce the size of what the user has to read or have some orbiting things around to make it more attractive. The sounds and background music were very fitting. A great game overall ! Hats off to you for making it with your custom engine.
I tried to play the Linux build of the game but it seems that the games does not register any input. Let me know if you update it so that i can give you feedback and a rating !
The dialogues work well and the story is funny. I would have liked a few more rooms an a few additional riddles or minigames. An ending / reset screen would have been great. Nice game !
The animations in the menu and in the game look good. The controls feel a bit weird, it seems like it's dropping input sometimes. Regarding the game, it's a bit frustrating when loot is unreachable because a block spawned after it appeared, but it's a great idea otherwise. A music would have really improved the experience but i know the struggles of adding sounds when using a custom engine. Very nice for a first jam !
Oh, and I get these in the console if it can help you : "Failed to parse SPIR-V code: UnsupportedBuiltIn(4)" "Shader will not be validated", 4 times each when launching the game.
I have to agree with the others, it's a bit sad that there is no explanation of what to do in your game here or directly in the game. The music is great though !
I tried the Linux version. The directions and rotation controls worked fine but it seems that i could not use a spell. I think your intent was to make a game similar to minit which seemed like a good idea given the theme. The visuals are simple but make a coherent whole. This looks like an interesting game but from my experience and the other comments it looks like you need to do some more tests and explain the gameplay a little more next time. Keep trying !
A great minimalist game. The counter and the circle twisting are great visual touches. A menu and a calm background music would have really improved the experience. Visual feedback would have been great to know when the ball bounces, i still don't know if the smaller pad is purely a magnet or if balls can bounce on it. You could improve variety by spawning the ball in a random spot / direction around the player. You could have added power-ups / interactions to break the monotony as it gets a bit easy when the ball starts consistently going clockwise / counter-clockwise. Even if it does not look finished, it's a great start for a game !
The musics are awesome and the visuals are very original. A lot of different mini-games, not all perfect, but very coherent as a whole and they fit the story well. A great game !
The graphics are great ! The menu is very functional. The puzzle aspect was nice but it was a bit frustrating to have to cycle back to the same color as the transformations are slow. A nice addition would be to have a quick switch between colors when dying. The sounds are fitting the game's cuteness. Great game !
The music is very enticing which is important when playing a game like that. Using music variations in that way is very clever, you are kind of triangulating the exit position depending on the volume of the music. The pitch and distortion effects are very useful to find the exit but i had more trouble identifying the two others. Very original entry, i liked it a lot !
Really nice graphics and music that make a coherent whole. The game concept is very original. Nice work !
A well executed infinite runner. Having animations and music for each menu is a great idea ! You have audio feedback when you get hit but i would have liked to have visual feedback too. The hitboxes seem to be a bit large and square shaped which is a bit unpredictable at first on some ennemies. Great work !
A really awesome game. Great visuals, awesome idea, good sound design. Well done !
I got an error on the web player but the Windows executable worked great. "Warning! The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing: Cross Origin Isolation SharedArrayBuffer"
I had good fun playing your game. The way the AIs are implemented is great, although i would have liked more variety in the behavior of ennemies. Graphics are simple but the nice choice of colors blends everything together nicely. The game lacks feedback though : sound effects (even though the great soundtrack hides that), camera shakes, particle effects...
A great entry overall !
Awesome game. Recording inputs was a nice idea to get around the 10 seconds limitation. The audio was great at coverying the urgency of the situation. Good job !
