I'm a simple man. I search the trashcan, I find nothing useful.
Great game, maybe freeze the players position when talking to people so you won't accidentally "move" out of conversation. I really like the idea and the atmosphere though. Good job!
Not bad! It's seems kinda long for a jam game, so in the future I'd recommend doing something shorter. The idea was pretty interesting though, and while the art wasn't 'impressive,' it wasn't bad, and was very consistant, which gave the game it's own feel.
Day and night cycle is a nice touch, well done on getting that in there. The game has a lot of charm and some good writing. I got stuck and had to restart when I visited the bar and asked for a beer. The woman went off to the tables and I couldnt move

Good job. I really enjoyed the humour and story you guys created. Don't worry about not finishing in time! (Hardly anybody manages to deliver a polished game - we started adjusting a proper gameplay 30 minutes into submission hour...again...). Some bugs I encountered: - After the first explosion, I was able to pick up the wood without being the maintenance guy (yes, I was stuck in a loop of following the red herring for a while...) - After receiving money from Terrence in one run, in the pub I didn't have money anymore (happend ponly once, maybe Terrence's textbox interrupted before finishing) - When asking Oscar for a rumor, I was unable to move away until I stated a new conversation with him that I properly ended - Some shelves dont have collision boxes (probably rather unfinished business than a bug)
- as mentioned above; moving out of conversations is a bit annoying + I was not sure, if conversations had to be talked to the end to be recognised by your engine - it felt that way which was equally annoying while trying to rush through the 2nd, 4th, 7th run.
I hope this is helpful. Cheers!
Thank you all so much for giving it a play!
There's a bunch of bugs with the dialogue stuff, Anytime there was a dialogue choice I had to freeze the player in place so that they could make their selection, and unfortunately this also meant that there's a few instances where I forgot to unfreeze the player or didn't think about things, like "what if the bartender ran off while you were frozen." And the way I had the triggers set up made certain things pretty janky. Especially getting money from Terrance, which only registered him giving you the money at the very end of the dialogue instead of the line that distinctly says he gave you the money.
As for picking up wood without being the maintenence guy, this was a choice I made, where anything the player character would 'know' would be carried over from loop to loop, such as knowing that they'll need the wood or the basis of magic thing, where as any item they picked up or anything the other characters would know will be lost from loop to loop.
I hope that gives some insight in what I was going for, even if it is still super janky!

This game was great! I really enjoyed the old-school RPG vibes - really reminded me of a lot of the RPGs I played when I was younger, right down to searching through trash cans and locked doors. :-) Loved being able to track down the schedules of the different people and eventually knowing where everyone would be.
super fun, charming game!!! loved lots of the self-referential humor, as well as the fact that it had tons of auxiliary content and yet the actual plot was manageably simple. one big thing i thought was missing was an interactable inventory, but aside from that, it was pretty easy to keep track of things, especially considering how distinct all the characters were, which is a really hard thing to do!
great stuff. if you find an artist to team up with for a future ld, you would definitely be a team i'd watch out for!!

Any chance of an HTML Version? I know it's pretty close to the deadline, but I only have my work Mac and I can't install stuff on that.
