You can sell and trade your items. The goal is to grind, get enough items, sell, get enough money to pay the amount
The intro made me laugh, creative idea, but you should definitely consider speeding up the typewriter effect during the intro.
Muito bomm
Such a funny storyline!. Very fun game with amazing artwork.
Really nice entry! Having to manage both the cart and the character definitely made it more challenging, but fun. I also really liked the music.
Nice job on this one! Great art and style, unfortunately I couldn't understand how trading works and I couldn't get it to work out
I love the art and the premise of the game, it is really original and pretty innovative, nice job!
The art is amazing!
I love the humor and the art style is amazing!
This is definitely a 5* rating! Art is there, the theme, game is fun. Everything works together in a fun and enjoyable way. My only concern is that the enemies attacks are hard to read making it hard to dodge. Other than that, the game plays well and feels good. Great Job!
Really solid entry! The graphics were really top-notch, and there was so much content for a game jam game... procedural generation, a variety of enemy types and some NPCs, as well as general attention to detail and nice animations on everything.
My only quibbles are mostly with the UI. Most things are nonblocking, so you can (for instance) talk to an NPC while picking up the carriage. Or, when navigating a menu, you swing your sword. Some of the collisions were also a little odd. Relatively minor stuff.
The music was nice, but the track was short enough that it got a little repetitive. The SFX were nice (I especially like the wizard's "oho").
Great work for you first Ludum Dare, hope to see you back in the future!
Great game, only problem was the first time i entered in the web version i couldnt play the game i was stucked in the first room
The art is great! very funny premise, would love a bit cleaner collision detection but otherwise cute
Impressed by all the mechanics and details you guys put in! Carrying your mom around is hilarious. Only complaint is that the mini map wasn't really useful, at least in the web build cause it is too zoomed in.
The pixel art is lovely, congrats to the artist ! The game looks quite complete, a bit too hard for me (I died 3 times after the third level). I found traders but no one to sell the items I trade, I probably must go further in the game. Is there any procedural generation for the dungeons ? That's impressive for 72 hours of work.
really impressive scope and really funny concept.
Great game! congralutalions, love the art and the game design!
There is indeed procedural generation, each run will have a layout. Thank you everyone for all the support! This was my first game jam and I enjoyed it very much, will definitely do another one in the future. My teammates op
Thank you everyone for your comments!
If we had more time I'd have love to fix some of the issues you guys had pointed out.
My team is also really great!
I really like the game art, is stunning!
congrats on your first game! cool concept and I like the art on that caravan. might need a bit of polish on the UI to make it consistent with your visual style
Top-notch graphics!
Great game! It took me a few plays to get the hang of it, but the difficulty level was just right I think.
Nice graphics and audio!
Amazing work! The art was beautiful, the gameplay was fun, and the premise was adorable! I found the gameplay challenging, which certainly wasn't a bad thing, and I had the same issue with traders that many others had. I had one other issue of an enemy knocking me back out of the screen to the point where I couldn't get back, and I found the wagon sound effect a bit loud the first time I picked it up, but I otherwise had a great time playing it - enough to do so a few times! ☆☆☆☆☆ Very polished for the time limit. Looking forward to seeing what else you all get up to!
Thank you for all the comments! Personally this was my first game jam, so it was a really nice experience working with everyone for 72 hours. I hope you guys had fun trying our game and I hope I can do another jam with my teammates cuz they are amazing :D
Thankyou for all the feedback and for checking us out! It has been a really fun experience, looking forward to participating in more LD gamejams!
Very good work. The art is great the gameplay is fun, plus your mom is a wooden cart! whats not to like.
Awesome art and I loved the sound design for the game. My only problem was I got stuck in between levels and couldn't progress. But I restarted and played the game. Great entry!
Great work, hilarious premise! Very cool to see procedural level generation, a dialog system, active combat and shops all done in 72 hours!
Beautiful Artwork! I love the style, and the idea of caravan for character is really funny!
Good job on the game! Very good art style!
Really beautiful game! The combat was a bit finnicky (had some monsters overlapping each other) but the roguelike/procedural generation aspect of it is really cool. Having the dungeon map on screen is nice, but I feel like the "exits" could have been made more clear in the level itself. Solid game!
Getting huge Miyazaki vibes. Love it. :)
Wonderful art, and a crazy amount of content for 72 hours! The game was challenging, and the combat was satisfying and visceral. I had a few issues (for some reason I had a hard time actually hitting the ranged acid spitting monster, or there was no visual feedback; and fullscreen mode cut off the top of the UI), but really awesome stuff!
I love the art! Feels very well polished, but still takes some getting used to as the controls don't seem to flow very fluidly when trying to pick up "your mother" hahaha. Thank you for making such a fun game!
Awesome! I love roguelikes, and I think this did a very good job! There are only a few things I wish for, being able to see what my items do and the ones I can trade for. And for there to be more than 1 dangerous enemy. The one that has projectiles are the only dangerous ones, and if you can figure out how to deal with them there isn't really a challenge with the game. I suppose I also never felt pressured to protect my mom, just had to lug her around which was just a hindrance to everything this game did well. Overall I really liked it, the random generation of rooms is impressive, having a bunch of item drops that seemed to scale with numbers collected was nice! And ofc the concept is really funny and I love that. Also quick shoutout to the artist(s)
Like @lanalux says my first thought was howls moving castle-esqe, amazing job guys! very well done!
Art work is impressive, so are the sounds well done on those. Different twist to dungeon style of gaming.
Wow that was cool. great art in just 72 hours. I like the game. Funny game too.. sounds that actually match the game. Very well designed.. No real complaints. Hard for me at least maybe and yes could use a little more feedback but that's just a plus. Definitely worth a post build update.
that wizard is genius. turn people's moms into carvavans. I would never have thouhgt of that
pretty awesome, you could put so many mechanics into the game in 72 hours.
@huddybuddygreatness @nickw22 @yubs @cooperjknapp @jaschez @happy-fish-gaming-co @wdelvi Thank you so much for playing our game! We definitely had fun making it and seeing you enjoy our game, be it through the art or the gameplay, really makes us happy! Cheers!
@izokia Thank you so much for the generous rating! We will take this experience away and come back stronger! :D
@jeremy-ryan Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! We will definitely digest this project and create something better in the future! That being said, Your submission was totally mind-bending! Thank you for stopping by and telling us how you felt about the game, Peace:v:
@mbpmm @homoludens @sean-park @bloody-xdlol @sylvainpv @jazambuja @janachumi @acgaudette @jerm @big-chalupa @justin-toyo @rosypenguin @welby @suika343 @lanalux @yeo-niki @dxk2294 @yiyongc @conroy @vivek-sharma20 @marvalgames @alphazeba @bonyok77 A big thank you to all of you who stopped by and left a comment! its really nice seeing so many people appreciating something we created and I am very thankful :D
For those of you who liked the art, We are very appreciative and thankful for your support, For our next jam(hopefully), we may be doing a 3D game!
Many of you praised the abundance of mechanics, and without our large team of programmers, that would never have been possible. Thank you all for stopping by and taking some time to leave your thoughts!
@zefeng haha hello Mr Zefeng, we're glad you stopped by
Game looks great, combat feels pretty tight. Great job ladz
@briibot Your praise is very much appreciated! Loved your submission as well :D
Fun idea of mama caravan!
There's so much stuff, and it all works! mama caravan must be proud
Nice job! I like the mechanics and the overall mood of the game. The graphics are nice as well. I feel that the music could do with a little variety, as the sweeping effect does become repetitive after playing for a while. There's a lot to do in the game so I'll definitely be giving it a second go! Well done.
Really cool artworks and great humor! Love it!
Wow very nice! You certainly did a lot but did not rush it! Amazing art and concept! The UI it pretty good, especially during the interaction but the font could use a black outline since some times it is not very readable. The sound design is pretty solid, the music could be a bit more epic in my opinion! Overall a great idea!
Johnny Johnny, Yes Mama? Earned enough money to turn me back? Yes Mama, Telling lies? No Mama, Turn me back then, Woah Mama!
Adorable, well drawn. Combat is solid. I like how the layout changes.
Pretty Cool Rouge like game!
Really nice ambiance and intersting concept. Pleasant to play but need improve on hitbox. Keep it up team !
The intro on the webVersion just rushes trough, can`t read it. The control screen also.
I would polish the controls.
Bug: at the two guys on the beginning, you can just get infinitly amount of the 3 items.
Where to is ell the items? are there other merchants? Maybe the intro would have explained that to me, but atm i don`t really know what to do there...
The story is funny, it looks like the name of a weird anime (the main character even looks like Bell Cranel from Danmachi)
"Welps, here I go killing again", lol.
Love the anime feeling, what's with the title, subject matter and kawaii caravan pictures, haha. Art and sound design are solid too, and the writing was funny!
I'm not too much in love with the combat to be honest. Something between the hitboxes, the general feel to it and the sameness of the enemies, I suppose - it's a bit hard to describe. I appreciate the variety of items, although I'm not quite sure what all of them what they do.
I wish traders in the real world would trade me 1:1 disregarding item quality :P
And it seems nothing even attacked my caravan/mother?
Despite those gripes though, this is a pretty solid and fun game with a surprising scope and number of systems (kudos to your programmer(s)!) for a LD jam. Well done!
@lloydcorfex yea the two guys at the beginning are traders, we would have loved to add more onto it but we ran out of time. Balancing the traders, adding more to them were all on our to do list. However, a bunch of other bugs came up that slowed development near the end. Sorry about that.
@crispy-chicken @spyranteros @iker-diaz @gabrielh @mirsakka Thank you so much!
@randdir @jamesolivermusic Thank you! We'll keep that in mind!
Also, that wizard is not a very nice person. Grr.
@tobiasw Thanks! The targetting for your caravan/mother is a bit wonky. We'll keep your feedback in mind for our next jams!
What an absurd story, I like it! The graphics are awesome and the mechanics work nicely.
Very cute artwork and solid combat! Interesting story with tons of potential as well. Keep up the good work!
.
@jrf Hey thank you for stopping by! We tried to come up with a funny and quirky scenario to keep this project light and we decided on this! We're glad you enjoyed it :D @elk Thank you! We're happy to see that you enjoyed the game!
The ranged characters were a bit difficult to fight against, and it seemed like no one actually went after my mother, meaning I could leave her in the middle of monsters. It was also a bit difficult to understand where my sword was pointing, but no, overall I liked the game. Lovely graphics, good sound, maybe a bit cryptic as to what I was supposed to do, but I liked it.
Cute and fun game thats simple to play. I had a hard time with the monsters but that's just cause I was using a trackpad since I don't have a mouse on me. The premise is pretty interesting too, and I like the graphics as well. Can't believe this was made in 3 days. Great job!
Really cute game with an interesting premise! The different upgrades and procedural generation encouraged me to replay, though I'm still not very sure what some of the upgrades did.
Overall, I liked the graphics and gameplay, and there was a surprising number of systems implemented for a game made in 3 days. Great job!
@torn Thank you for playing! The targetting for ur mother might have broke and we forgot to fix
@sakiyuuki Thank you very much! Sorry the controls were a bit hard when you used the trackpad, we'll keep that in mind next time!
@tenofold Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wish we had a bit more time to add more explanation to items
Such a cute game! Besides the hilarious intro, the sword swing mechanic was neat and everything looked amazing. It felt super polished and there was SO much character, I wish I could have made this game
Great graphics and nice idea. You have done a great game for such a short time.
Very original idea but its fit in theme :) Graphics is what lure me to try your game and it was fun :) Thanks for entry :)
This was a cute little game! The UI design was abit distracting and broken as you mentioned but It was still a fun ride! I liked the story, definitely not heard it before!
@ryan-jung @pusheeneiro @hadik @louiejams Thank you guys! Glad you enjoyed the game :D
Coolio, Pretty crazy you managed to put together a functioning rouge-like in such a short time. Well done!
Really impressive job. The visual quality is incredible, and the gameplay is really fun. Great work!
@mechanicallife @zillix Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it :D
Fantastic pixel artwork! A cute and fun game to play with an interesting and funny story. Lots of potential! x
Those one eyed lil guys were so hard to kill! Other than that good game! Sometimes if an obstacle is too close to the entrance of a room you kinda get stuck in limbo between the two rooms :( I got out but that button mash E though!
Real cute guyssss would be cool if you could interact with the caravan in certain instances. Like a mobile shop or something! Thanks!
Great game, I particularly like the player art and some of the enemy designs. The concept is really silly, but I didn't notice the enemies attacking the mother/caravan. Perhaps that would add another neat layer of risk vs. reward to the combat.
Nice work.
Just a great game, really nice :)
Wow So Good! 5/5
i liked the premise, the caravan curse reminded me so much of the dragon quest games <3 i found it a bit challenging to change rooms only to find an enemy had spawned right in front of me but it wasn't a huge problem. overall great!
Nice game!
First of all, the game look amazing! And the sound effects and music are great!
The concept is nice, I really like it!
I only actually have one little complaint, it is that when I try to get to a room on the side I can't get there by walking towards it while being near a corner, despite there being no walls
Anyway, nice game, silly lovely story!
New_Piskel.gif
So cute!!!! The art style is amazing and the gameplay is just so enjoyable!! It was very fun and just a great game!!
Very nice! This is an impressive amount of content for one weekend. The art and music are good, and the concept is silly but fun. I noticed that there were some times when I couldn't walk through an entry that looked like it should have been open; I wasn't sure whether or not this was intentional.
The overall concept is good. The artwork is nice, especially in the intro scene. Could do with a little more visual feedback when the player is hit. I know you've got that hit animation and the audio cue which is good, but when you're fighting enemies, the audio from swinging your sword and your focus being drawn towards the enemies kind of detracts from that, making it harder to notice when you're hit. A good and quick screen shake or screen flash would definitely help this aspect, but other than that, your game is great. Nice job!
That's a massive team, and an adequate game. Nice job.
My suggestions would be to actually have the mother targeted (the other commenters addressed it already), have a visible cursor to let me see where I'm targeting the ranged attack, and finally increase stamina regeneration. There's also a tiny oversight: an enemy spawned in the door smoke, unable to move, and the doors remained locked until I figured it out.
@ponypen @saucygames @peterfiftyfour @ryannielson @lespaul59 @noamraz @vulgaris @sheinxy @starlet @guardaro Thank you so much !! I'm glad you guys enjoyed it :D
@kiln Thank you! We will defintely keep in mind about how we can use camera effects for more visual feedback.
@alaah Thank you for the feedback, we'll keep it in mind.
I had way too much fun with this, thanks for the game :)
Great idea and approach, but I found it really difficult when having to fight. The movement of the sword was not very intuitive so I couldn't finish it. Got pretty close to 1000 once but then got owned by those ranged guys... damn I hated those . With a bit of tweaking and polishing it could be a very fun game. I thing it deserves great rating for theme, graphics and mood though. Keep up good work. Cheers!
It's a great adventure game. It's rich in content, including attack system and equipment system. Although it's simple, it's really great. We all know that it's hard to do well in a short time. But what you've done is great. But I think it's better to let monsters in the scene attack carriages. We need to protect mom to survive. This may be better In line with the theme. Great come on
Good job! Beautiful pixels, the system of opening a shop while fighting reminds me of Moonlighter, I so love the pixel style under unity, unfortunately I will only use gamemaker,hh
@matt-greenbury @cvetk0 @dreamer Thank you so much for ur feedback! Glad you enjoyed our game.
Really well done and super polished, I think the greatest margin for improvement is in the sword attacks as it' not so precise bu with a bit more of work I think it could be really good. Impressive for a 72h jam
Very pretty game! The song could have been a little less repetitive, but the instruments used made it tolerable.
oh wow, its really created in 72h? Look like 3 years project! Good job guys!
Oh, my mother. Always getting into trouble. So what is it this time. A caravan?!? You're kidding me mother, how on earth did it happen this time?! Oh well, let's get this done with. Bunch of monsters. Easy to take care of with my floating sword of doom. Another room, done! What then. Wizard! I give you my stuff I guess, take that. Wait what, a THOUSAND DOLLARS?!? Are you kidding me? I am only worth $250 and now I do not now what to do. Every way is blocked and the wizard is just mocking me. I cannot escape anywhere. Am I doomed forever?! What about my mother?! I don't think she needs food, but wood rot might be a problem in the long run. Oh well, I think I'll take a nap and think about this problem another day.
Pretty good, played for a while, but I always got shot after few screens :/ Music is a bit repetive and boring, but enough for the mood, art is excellent. And the idea of mother turned into caravan just had to make ma laugh.
@francisco-caal @lexyvil @pushkan @gimblll @shigor We're so glad you loved the game! We're definitely taking notes on your feedback, Cheers :v:
Haha great start to a game! :sunglasses: Had fun playing this for a while, and definitely has the flavor that could turn it into a commercial game, I think ;) The ranged attack reload was a bit too slow for me, and avoiding attacks could have been a little easier. Also, at first I thought that I could use the items I found somehow, but soon realized they are just for selling (right?!). Very impressive for a 72 hour jam, well done!
Really good game, bringing my mother along to the dungeon was hilarious. Really unique idea, the sound design is brilliant and the graphics are good. Gameplay and combat feels smooth and polished, so well done, keep up the good work, really unique and funny concept!
Brilliant concept and lovely art!
@evert The items actually all do have an effect! We probably should have made it more clear on what each item did haha. For example, the circular chakram looking thing actually makes your attack become 360 degrees but deal less damage and the sword with red particles make it so you can use the ranged attacked more often when on full health. Thank you for the feedback, will keep it in mind!
@dnich013 We are glad you enjoyed our game! Thanks for the positive words!
Not too shabby, not at all! I really was craving some good old action adventure gameplay. The fighting was a bit clunky but I god used to it pretty quickly and the fighting was a good mix of strategy and reflexes. Collecting Loot and dragging your motherly cart through the screens was also a nice change of pace. Got to the ending on my first try after almost dying and having only one heart left. Some item (I think) did refresh my helth though. After that, I was unstoppable! Liked the music too. The art was a bit rough on the edges but worked. Sound effects were helpful too. Also, great to have such complex animations on the enemies. especially the ones that were shooting had an animation to telegraph the attack, which helped a lot to reduce random hits.
All in all, very well thought out little game. Kudos!
Loved it! Fun to play and good intro, also great pixel art!, the battle could be a little more polished, but it was fine. And the boss fight was too easy I think, but well done!
@duke We're happy you enjoyed our game! The item which heals you is the bat pet, it gives you a chance to heal when you deal damage. Thank you for the feedback and positive words!
@hermeses Thanks for the feedback! Not gonna lie, we actually forgot to increase the boss health haha, it was this low because we were debugging the end of the game.
Great entry, had a lot of fun playing it. Its a lot of content for 72 hours. Good job :)
very very good!
Great job making a playable roguelike for the jam! Wonderful art, music, funny story, and fun gameplay!. Good entry.
Wow! Super impressive. Sound effects and soundtrack is on point. Animations and graphics aswell. The game was a little bit too hard for me but then again I suck at these kind of games.
Also great humour. Actually laughed out loud during the intro sequence
I must admit this is really nice game. Although you tricked the Theme slighlty :) I found one bug, when i entered 2nd screen one of the monsters got stuck on the wall and i wasnt able to see him for couple of minutes. Anyway, nice work!
Both animations and the graphics are great! You made an impressive amount of content in such a short time. It was fun to play, although I sometimes forgot to put mummy down before proceeding to smash ;).
It felt polished and I didn't notice any bugs or strange behavior... at least nothing stranger than my mother being a caravan
Some of the collision detection from the enemies ranged attacks seemed like it included your sword as the hit box, meant fighting some enemies you almost always got damaged if you weren't quick enough. It would have also have been nice that after the game I could go back and play again instead of having to reload the page again.
On the first instruction page the "click to continue" is half covering the border so it looks cut off. When you interact with your mother, picking her up, there is a jump in the animation where you've brought her nearly up to full height then it jumps back to the resting down animation then back up again. If you face your mother when picking her up then turn the other way, the caravan for a single frame jumps to the other side before realising it was in the right place then jumps back again.
I got lucky on my second game that the wizard was just two screens away, within searching a total of four screens I earned enough to turn my mother back to normal again and win. That's just the luck of the RNG gods I presume!
I would say the animations and graphics need some more polish to them but overall it was a fun experience and definitely worth playing.
This game is awesome! there's just a collider off in room with guys that exchange stuff there is a treasure box, that one! Leaving that aside, it just made me sad that the game ended that fast I was enjoying it so much! thanks guys, you did a great job!
well done
The game was great. All it needs is some polishing.
Lovely graphics, interesting story! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/jKms-qsuTgw

Great Job, the game was super enjoyable!
Cool entry! Loved so much the art and the Plot! Awesome work!
@pilarius @d1str4kt0r @no-grapes-games @marcusnystrand @jacksgamessucks @fabula-rasa @taran-unraveler @docgeraud @g-a-gamestudio @scott-steffes @spirits @ivan-garcia-filho We're Thankful that you enjoyed our game! @kjscott Thank you for bugtesting! We will be sure to take note of such problems in the future :)
@jupiter-hadley @ursagames @kaafirookie Thank you guys for the showing our games on your social media! You guys are awesome!
Wow!
This is some of my favorite pixel art/animation I have seen this jam. Fantastic work.
Really nicely done dude~ Love the humour, very cool idea for a game. good execution overall.
I really like this one. Everything is moving just a bit, makes it feel dynamic. It's overall amazingly polished for an LD game. I'd like to see quicker, more fluid combat, but it would only bother me if this were a game from Steam. I love the concept.
very enjoyable game. Good job
Very nice, great art and funny concept. But I confess it was too difficult to me.
Hey! Really liked the art for the game! For me the music was a little bit off due to it's modern/electro feel that was fighting with the "medieval" art style. For the first time i didn't know why i was getting hit, the enemy attacks felt a bit random so a little bit more in player feedback, i think, would be pretty nice! I got stuck when going left on "city" and pressed right before the camera fully traveled. I got unstuck after beating all monsters. My only break of immersion was trying to go to areas that were fully open in screen but only throught the center that u could get there. A really funny and anime like concept for a Jam XD Nice Game!
Absolutely loved it! Amazing job on all aspects: graphics, sound, mechanics, fun, etc! Would love to see a polished version of the game in the near future! Well done team!
