Obligatory meme post. ayayay.png

Awesome entry, had a blast playing. The upgrades are awesome an really satisfying, the gameplay very clean and rewarding as you get better. It took me a while to figure out what was going on with the loop beam. An issue I have observed past level 10 after beating the platform boss I got stuck in a turn and it wouldn't let me continue (every time I would try to navigate a bend it would teleport me/rewind me back a few steps.) Can you win the game out of curiosity?

icxon 2020-10-05 22:56

Hey @listonos! Yes you can, if you use the key. Sorry about that glitch.

steambrain 2020-10-05 23:43

Good game!

zen 2020-10-05 23:45

Awesome game! Really liked your take on the theme and the loop effect. The variety in enemies and upgrades was good and kept me interested for ages. I especially liked the addition that you could use the big bois bodies as a shield. Super nice sfx and soft music. Greatwork

nelow 2020-10-06 00:06

Really good idea ! You really used the theme well !

You should map to ZQSD AND WASD ( you can map both at the same time ) because it is too hard on a azerty keyboard :/

akmon 2020-10-06 00:40

Was looking very nice but I didn't get much satisfaction out of the game even tho combat looked really well balanced. I guess not my type of game but still was looking really polished.

PS Have no idea how special attack or whatever (not) works

Really interesting concept, I like the way you spawn enemies with the ray beam, it's a great idea for return back if we are in danger. Nice job !

hank-ather 2020-10-06 20:04

Awesome use of the loop! Felt very good to play. Minor issues with the random generation blocking your path but you can backtrack and re-gen loops if you get stuck.

b0guslaw 2020-10-06 20:09

Very fun and intriguing design. I like the implementation of the loop theme a lot and upgradable weapons kept me hooked. Good job!

cosmicpickle 2020-10-06 23:08

I absolutely loved it! The gameplay was fun and engaging, the theme is greatly covered. The graphics and the audio complement each other. It feels like a complete game. Great job!

julienlussiez 2020-10-06 23:15

I really like the idea, I find it pretty creative. I managed to make 4 loops on first try. The mechanics works pretty well. It seems like it's voxel art, I'm not quite sure but I like the blocky visuals. Well done.

no-grapes-games 2020-10-07 00:11

Wow! This is one of my favorites so far! It's really well done. The balance, the growth, the gameplay are all up there in quality. Very interesting execution of the theme. I really like the stage changing as you move.

blind-lemon-games 2020-10-07 05:37

Loved it, actually fun, great feeling of progression. Make 100 levels and put this on kongregate!

blind-lemon-games 2020-10-07 05:38

critical feedback: loop stopped spawning at around 20 loops. sometimes got stuck. too easy.

wouter52 2020-10-07 15:42

I'm impressed, the concept feels solid and I like how everything is on one screen. At first it feels a bit slow, but after a while the speed/chaos increases. The graphics are nice and the music fits the theme very well.

I had a fun time playing it.

abdul-zakkar 2020-10-08 01:59

I love this! It's very satisfying to play and the upgrades made it very enjoyable. The effect of going through the loop is very cool.

dj-depressive 2020-10-08 18:01

Liked the game :) I had fun driving around the tank and shooting, felt that you had good control and that I could easily dodge bullets and attacks if I tried. Also really liked the effect of the laser beam going around and changing the levels (especially nice that it reverted back to the previous loop layout when reversing). Also love that you made the name a palindrome haha.

The feedback I have is this: initially I was a bit confused on what to do and didn't really realize that the enemies were enemies until I got shot (that's just me being slow though). Also didn't realize you could upgrade your tank by diriving into the slot since I though that the arrow was supposed to indicate that the green boxes I picked up were adding to my health (also me being slow again). The only non "me being stupid" feedback I have is this instance when I couldn't proceed because there was a box in the way:

Great job! Looking forward to seeing your future games ;)

thebugger 2020-10-08 18:03

Fun game, easy to pick up and play.

graal 2020-10-08 19:25

@dj-depressive thanks for feedback! Yeah, some things could be highlighted better, we always have problems with manuals :)

For example, in your case the small gray box is not the same as big gray box. This is corpse of yellow robot killed at previous "loop". When you kill yellow robot you see yellow box, and after beam passes that box it becomes solid gray box. If you met that, you may go back (counterclockwise) and let temporal beam pass through box again. It will bring yellow robot to live again, and you'll be able to kill it in another place or move his corpse.

aterlamia 2020-10-08 19:42

Cool game, i like the music and sounds and is a fun take on the theme. I wonder one thing and was it planned that your mortar only goes in your driving direction and not where you point your gun ? i kept firing my mortar in the wring direction because of that.

For the rest a fun game mechanic

a333 2020-10-08 19:54

@aterlamia yeah, it was added like 5 minutes before release, but I ended up enjoying the fact that it's basically keyboard controlled - once you get used to it, you can have perform some cool stuff on the go. It's probably not quite accessible for the 5-minutes LD play sessions, though. My mistake.

daimadoushi 2020-10-09 06:06

Very nice implementation, neat idea I had a good time.

Just one thing though, I was super confused by the arrow to enter the shop, realized in the loop 4-5 that you could actually enter. Maybe an arrow on the floor that lights up as you pass by would be more obvious.

Also at some loop I found a wall I couldnt cross, I figure that I had to go back, as the enemy was reappearing I thought it was the right call, until I found myself at lvl 1 again ... -_-. Besides those small things, very solid entry !

Wish you the best

dj-depressive 2020-10-09 06:58

@graal ooOOooh I see, that's a cool feature. My team also always have trouble with giving clear instructions  I guess it's because it gets deprioritized after gameplay and assets :P

dxk2294 2020-10-09 08:47

This was a really, really interesting take on the theme! This is definitely one of my favorite games so far. Simple one-screen concept at its core, but the idea is really clever and the execution is phenomenal. I particularly enjoyed the "plinky" sound effects. Great job!

tauheed-game-dev 2020-10-09 09:52

Really cool game, Nice mechanics and awesome art and sound, also nailed the theme.

peachtreeoath 2020-10-09 10:45

Ahhh reading comments I actually didn't realize the ray beam spawned enemies. When I first looked at screenshots I thought it'd be something that moves in a circle chasing you around.

I liked the progression of the game. The shop upgrades were VERY strong so it made it feel worthwhile to keep running loops and powering up.

I really liked the grenade! Some people said it's unintuitive, and I suppose it is, but that's how the mechanics worked in Jackal (NES) which was a great game, so I was very fond of that decision.

The music really sealed in the world. It ramped up menacingly and the sounds all had a satisfying punch to them. Nice game with tight design :)

tricky-fat-cat 2020-10-09 10:57

A really nice game with nice idea and implementation. The only problem I faced is the absence of enemies HP bar. Great job overall.

fluffygamedev 2020-10-09 11:34

Great job making this game! I love your take on the theme. The game is very well polished!

oillen 2020-10-09 23:41

Good entry, addicting gameplay, and you made a good grind combined with the theme.

strangeryann 2020-10-10 15:41

Very cool little game u guys, glad i got to test it :D

gregoryblomquist 2020-10-10 20:04

Really polished fun game! The difficulty curve grows at a good rate and the collectibles/upgrades are a great touch. The top-down puzzle style works really well with the theme and I found myself engaged through the whole playthrough! I was nodding along with the music too--definitely adds another layer to the run-and-gun mechanic! It feels like a complete package. Awesome job!

crazymouse 2020-10-11 07:33

fun game! it really looks great!

anshul-k 2020-10-11 10:01

rossmoff 2020-10-11 18:16

Waw! What a great game! Nice artwork, nice idea! Few little bugs but didnt mind it. Well done!

ltyrosine 2020-10-20 22:29

Amazing game! One of my fav so far.

Nice 3d models, nice gameplay, physics, smooth controls, weapons and enemies variety, it's all here. And on top of it all, a proper theme usage. Actually the whole game is built around it.

As a minor issue, music it's well made but gets a little repetitive after a while. Maybe too loud? At least a option to turn it off or control the volume.

Hope you guys push it to a complete project.

roka-josh 2020-10-22 12:29

Really fun game, I think everything comes together really well the only problem was I encountered an issue in loop 6 and got stuck as I couldn't pass the corpses of the enemies. Regardless, amazing game, really well done! Capture.PNG
