LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

BeerFight! by happysloth 2017-12-06T21:28:22Z

Hmm, I'm having problems downloading the game. After selecting a place on my hard drive to save the game to, it just sits there and tries to download the game without actually downloading any data. Is there a problem with the website you are using?

BeerFight! by happysloth 2017-12-06T22:30:27Z

@happysloth Ah, well it's probably because I'm in the US. Seems to be really slow for me. Thanks anyways! Looks good!

Asteroid Aversion by PietPtr 2017-12-08T18:18:20Z

Thanks for participating! Currently there are a number of hoops to jump through in order to play your game. It would be a lot easier if you included your Python files built into an executable so users could just download and play quickly. Maybe take a look at [PyInstaller](http://www.pyinstaller.org/), [py2exe](http://www.py2exe.org/), or [cx_Freeze](https://anthony-tuininga.github.io/cx_Freeze/)? It would make it a lot easier for others to quickly play your game.

Attack of the Killer Zombie Veggies from Outer Space by abcdef65g 2017-12-06T22:00:13Z

**Overall, I thought it was a good game!**

Some notes I had: * I experienced some pretty poor framerates when on fullscreen mode. * Not having all guns look basically the exact same would be nice. Variety on shapes would be nice.

Overall though, I though it was well executed! Thanks for participating!

Mythical Development Time by jnharton 2017-12-19T02:56:38Z

I have been experiencing the crash as well. I was able to reproduce it by opening up the game, allowing it to start, and not pressing any other buttons. It happens around 4:00 PM in-game time. I have also experienced the crash upon normal gameplay circumstances (buying desks, hiring employees, etc). I am using the Win64 version provided on your Google Drive page. ``` Error -------

Genus Perditum by Baconinvader 2017-12-08T18:14:16Z

**Overall, I thought it was a good game!**

Some notes I had: * Controls are a little slide-y for my personal liking. But that's just me. * Overall a good concept, I enjoyed it.

Overall though, I enjoyed it! Thanks for participating!

Just eat just enough by zeu31 2017-12-06T04:26:19Z

**Overall, I enjoyed the game**

Some notes I had: * 1920x1080 wasn't an option on startup, but it was in game. * Screen gets over-populated with food pretty quickly. Maybe have it disappear after a certain amount of time? * Option to go back to main menu when you die would be nice. * My video settings didn't save between runs. * Instead of allowing the user to keep shooting indefinitely, maybe have a warning instead that their health is too low to keep shooting? Would add more to the gameplay for me.

Overall, I think it's a good game! Thanks for participating!

Too Much Loot? by alphapolygon 2017-12-06T21:22:35Z

**Overall, I thought it was an entertaining game!**

Some notes I had: * Enjoyable game! Like the randomization of everything. Makes it unpredictable. * Maybe make it not possible to lose on the first round? Only thing I can think of to change about the basic concept of the game.

Overall though, wonderful game! Thanks for participating!

Big Pockets by Jeremy Ryan 2017-12-19T03:11:45Z

**Overall, I thought that it was a good game!**

Some notes I had: * Mood is well set * Enemies aren't that intimidating/hard * Minor graphical glitches when respawning after dying (doors in particular)

Overall though, a very nice game! Thanks for participating!

Kaptain Krustacean: Insectoid Annihilation by Oyianakis 2017-12-06T20:54:28Z

I would love to play your game, however, there really doesn't appear to be enough information to judge your game fairly. I'm not exactly sure what the goal of the game is, or how to play it. Maybe putting the goal and controls here on your game page? Once you do that, it will be much easier for others to play and judge your game.

Bug Juice 🐜 by webthingee 2017-12-19T03:23:16Z

**Overall, I thought it was a nicely executed game!**

Some notes I had: * Jumping mechanics are a little funky (jump height is small, and "jump off wall" extra key is hard to get used to) * Music is nice

Overall though, it's a good start! Thanks for participating!

Home by Parker8283 2017-12-09T17:19:03Z

@baconinvader In order to move on to the next planet, you need to collect a certain amount of each of the four resources. You only start with one. As you collect more of a certain resource, another one will pop up. Once you've collected a certain amount of all four, then you can move on to the next planet. If you're willing to do a little digging into the code, you can find the amounts needed for everything.

I agree that it's not completely obvious what to do. We were planning to have text pop up to provide hints and add to the story, however due to unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to implement that in time.

Home by Parker8283 2017-12-13T16:18:22Z

It's an incremental/clicker game. Think Cookie Clicker or Clicker Heros or AdVenture Capitalist. We took a slightly different approach to it however. You got the point, it takes a while and probably not balanced very well.

Home by Parker8283 2017-12-27T00:35:36Z

Yeah I think I screwed up the Linux detection. My apologies.

Cyber Cowboy by Corqi 2017-12-06T21:13:29Z

I'm not sure I completely understand how I'm supposed to play this game. The controls are given to us at the beginning of the game, but no goals or motives. What are we supposed to be shooting at? What's the goal? I'd be happy to play your game if you elaborate on these concerns.

Heartless Jump by Nanda 2017-12-19T03:40:22Z

**Overall, I thought that the concept was good!**

Some notes I had: * Double jumping is a little odd; I was expecting that at the top of my first jump, I would still get the whole second jump, but I get a lot smaller than if I started on the ground. Not sure if this is intentional or not. * Music loop isn't gapless; it sounds awkward for a couple of seconds.

Overall though, very nice start! Thanks for participating!

Bankin' by Ajitesh Misra 2017-12-06T21:07:15Z

**Overall, I thought it was a fun game.**

Some notes I had: * You should probably update the main distributable to have the .dll file so it's easier for people to just go. Some people probably won't look at comments. A change like that after the competition is over is perfectly acceptable. * Maybe don't have the cops shoot you until you pick up your first bag? I find it weird that they're shooting at me before I even do anything. * Health bar would be nice, so I know where I'm at.

Overall though, it was an entertaining game! Thanks for participating!

Cat Chaser by mystal 2017-12-06T21:46:21Z

Thanks for participating! To make it easier for others to play your game, could you please provide the compiled binary file here? Currently users need to install the Rust compiler, which in some cases involved some extra tools that end-users shouldn't need to install. Providing the binary file would make it easy for anyone to download and go.

Cat Chaser by mystal 2017-12-12T01:06:09Z

Thanks for the binaries!

**Overall, I thought it was a fun game!**

Some notes I had: * This is a very cute game * Carpet detection was a kind-of unforgiving

Overall though, very well executed! Thanks for participating!

The Procrastinating Ninja by Joshua Aubrey 2017-12-06T04:46:17Z

**Overall, I thought it was a good start.**

Some notes I had: * That noise when text goes away is a little hard on my ears. * Text scrolling is a little slow. Maybe an option to make it faster, or have it appear instantly? * Text doesn't seem to scale well at lower resolutions * It appears to be taking user input at random intervals. I was clicking at a constant rate, and it was not firing at the same rate; it would vary at an unpredictable rate. Not sure if that's an intentional limitation or a limitation of the engine? * Instead of pressing escape having you go straight back to the main menu, maybe a pause menu?

Overall though, with a little work, I think this could be a good game! Thanks for participating!

ChompChompChompion by Jamblefoot 2017-12-07T02:37:29Z

**Overall, I thought it was a nice game.**

Some notes I had: * Main menu and pausing would be welcome additions. * Help screen that would bring up the controls again would be helpful as well. Missed it the first time because I was doing something else. * Game froze and stopped responding every time I tried to close it. (Windows)

Overall though, it was a good first game! Thanks for participating!

Alien Stacking by Croped 2017-12-07T03:12:41Z

**Overall, I thought it was a good first game!**

Some notes I had: * Controls are a little unforgiving. Either that or I'm bad. Both are very viable options :P * Using the Unity built-in key rebindings would be nice so I could use A and D instead of the arrow keys.

Overall though, it wasn't bad! Thanks for participating!

Breakpoint by Quade Zaban 2017-12-07T02:49:31Z

**Overall, I thought that this was a really cool game!**

Some notes I had: * This is a really good looking game. The environment, controls, everything! * Better camera controls would be nice. Hard to see where I'm going sometimes. This is basically what's killing it for me right now.

Overall though, I'm really intrigued by this game! Thanks for participating! I'll definitely keep my eye on this in the future!

Run or Die by suspicious_grass 2017-12-07T03:01:21Z

**Overall, I thought the game was a good first effort!**

Some notes I had: * Game takes a long time to load after hitting Play. Is that a side-effect of using the WebGL version of Unity? * Items are a little sparse. Perhaps increasing their occurences?

Overall though, it was an enjoyable game! Thanks for participating!

Too Many Chefs Spoil The Broth by PaulJamesGaming 2017-12-06T04:09:16Z

**Overall, I thought it was a good game.**

Some notes I had: * Load time took a while...not sure whose side that's on. * Pause functionality (besides just clicking off the tab/window) would be nice. * Sometimes the velocity and size of the fruit don't play nice. Like when a cherry is dropped from pretty high up. Maybe it's meant to add a level of difficulty. Idk, but there were some times I was like "How is anyone supposed to click on that?" * Sometimes the arm height gets a little low for my liking. Like as soon as I see a fruit, it's already in the bowl.

Overall though, it wasn't bad! Thanks for participating!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Box Explorer by Parker8283 2018-12-15T19:50:55Z

@cigsandflowers Thanks for the feedback! I did put in the post above how we interpreted the theme and used it. Also, we treated this game much like a proof of concept. It's definitely not a great standalone game, but we think it's a good starting point to build an actual game off of, if we wanted to. Thank you for taking the time to play it and leave feedback!

The Blood Magic by mimusangel 2018-12-20T04:28:36Z

**Overall, I thought that this was a good first game!**

Some notes I had: * The instructions weren't 100% clear. I figured it out with a little messing around. However, some sort of controls screen would be nice. * The enemies might be a little OP. * I'm not sure if it was a feature to have two different elements selected at once or not...but that exists.

Overall though, a good first entry and proof of concept! Thanks for participating! Hope to see you in future events!

SHEEP MUST LIVE! by kovsaw 2018-12-20T03:52:03Z

**Overall, I thought it was a good first game!**

Some notes I had: * The game was confusing to play. I eventually kind of figured out what was going on, but maybe on the start screen, there could've been some instructions/controls. * I liked the part where the hunters slowed down when there was less sheep left. I do feel like in the beginning, the hunters should be a tad slower.

Overall though, great first entry! Thanks for participating! Hope to see you in future events!

Cube Rapture by currentdevon 2018-12-20T04:12:18Z

**Overall, I thought this was a great first game!**

Some notes I had: * The controls weren't 100% clear, so it took me a second to realize that it was click-to-move. Maybe some way to clear it up * The concept it great. I can see how this might be fleshed out later into a bigger game, should you choose to do so.

Overall though, a great concept! Thanks for participating! Hope to see you in future events!

Guardian by pieiscool 2018-12-20T03:21:25Z

**Overall, I thought this was a great concept!**

Some notes I had: * The controls aren't 100% clear. I figured them out after a little bit. But clearing them up somewhere would be nice * I like how he progressively runs faster. Adds a layer of challenge to the game.

Overall though, it's a great First Jam game! Thanks for participating! Hope to see you in future events!

Pond smash by jooconnel 2018-12-20T03:12:27Z

**Overall, I thought that this was a good first LD game!**

Some notes I had: * Spawning of the frogs is a little jenky. They like to hug the very edges of my screen. * They also appear to be spawning in some places where I can't see them very well, since I've lost levels where I couldn't see any frogs on the screen.

Overall though, a great first contribution! My points were very nit-picky because overall the gameplay was good. Thanks for participating! Hope to see you again in future events!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Mini Game DUD by gustavo.christino 2022-04-08T02:40:55Z

Hey, thanks for participating! I think this is a great starting point for a game. I liked the way you applied the theme. And it's nice to see people use Godot as well. I'm sure if you were to continue this game into the future, it could be fleshed out and be a nice overall experience. Hope to see you in future events!

Forever Young by ZAINMAN 2022-04-07T03:11:07Z

Hey zainman! Thanks for participating! I think this is a great start to a game. I did enjoy some of the humor in the game, and know that working in 3D engines can be kinda daunting. I hope you stick with this after the event and try to flesh this out into your full vision! Hope to see you in future events!

Appeasing The Board by Parker8283 2022-04-07T15:25:07Z

@augustcoder Yeah one of my teammates noticed that some AVs didn't like it when he uploaded the binary to VirusTotal. Not sure what the problem is since it's just made with PyInstaller. I guess that's one benefit of Open Source!

The Show ! by Articka 2022-04-08T02:14:20Z

Hey, thanks for participating! This is a great concept for a game. I would assume if you were to continue this game, you would add more challenges that just plugging the phone in while playing the game. But as a starting point within a game jam, I'd say job well done! Hope to see you in future events!

Laser Moon Mixtapes by Vanea 2022-04-07T03:38:26Z

Hey, thanks for participating! This was a pretty fun game. Honestly the thing that impressed me the most is that you used the END key on a keyboard, that's something you don't see everyday. Fun little game. Hope to see you in future events!

Countdown by alpharock6 2022-04-09T05:01:00Z

Hey alpharock6, thanks for participating! This was a pretty entertaining game. It took me a minute to understand I was supposed to talk to the guy multiple times, but once I did, I got the point of the gameplay. Great little game. Hope to see you in future events!

Boom Bass by Kassymov Iran 2022-04-08T02:30:25Z

Hey, thanks for participating! This is a nice concept for a game. I'm sure if you were to continue making this game after the event, this could be fleshed out into a real nice little game. I did encounter a bug where when I interacted with a workbench, but I didn't hit the key combo that comes up afterwards, the game would glitch and clicking "Restart" just game over'd me again...though it game me more points on my score, so using it, my high score was >50,000 :) So that was pretty entertaining. Hope to see you in future events!

LD55 — Summoning

South City Worker Exam by Phobos001 2024-04-18T00:41:46Z

The way the lore is presented is interesting. I started by answering how I would answer in real life, but then I started trying to answer the way I thought the game wanted me to answer. But then that was also somehow wrong! Standardized tests are weird like that... Thanks for participating!

Waves of Chess by frozenfire92 2024-04-20T02:41:26Z

Fun game! Took me a while to understand why my pawns were OP . Thanks for participating!

Glyphwalker by Papaver 2024-04-20T01:50:21Z

Nice game! I do like puzzle games, so it was fun trying to figure this one out. Thanks for participating!

If Only by Le Slo 2024-04-18T00:28:15Z

I love puzzle games, so I very much enjoyed this! It took me a long time to get all the mechanics of the game, so unless that is an intentional "puzzle" for the player to solve, it might have be nice to give some sort of instructions or tutorial of at least the basics so the user isn't so lost. It took me even longer to find a core mechanic of the game, though maybe you don't want to give that away. I got stuck on one of the levels, and while I could skip it, I'm stubborn and want to actually beat it . So maybe I'll come back to it! Thanks for participating!

Cooking Mana by Roitchie 2024-04-20T02:03:08Z

Fun little cooking minigame! Thanks for participating!

de-monday by alpdogan 2024-04-20T01:58:19Z

Took me a second to get the concept, but once I did it was very fun! Thanks for participating!

Mobius by Jerem Watts 2024-04-20T01:28:56Z

I loved the movement style!

Star to Dust by Chii 2024-04-18T00:50:13Z

Cute little game! And either my keyboard is on backwards, or maybe I'm crazy, but for me 'A' was to make the star smaller, and 'S' was to make it bigger. Which is backwards from what the post says. Thanks for participating!

Sum on! by altaf-creator 2024-04-17T23:05:19Z

Fun little game! Concept is easy to pick up and the game is quick to play, which I like. Sometimes the levels feel a bit too RNG-based (sometimes I can't jump to anything for example), and I swear sometimes the AI can jump further than I can . But I'm sure those are things that might have been looked at if you had more time. Overall, I liked the game. Thanks for participating!

Haunted Cartomancy by Norah 2024-04-18T01:35:22Z

Excellent game. Fit the theme well. Loved the vibe. Thanks for participating!

Back to Life by andypang1010 2024-04-17T23:34:33Z

Fun little game! It took me a while to get what I was doing. Even after I beat the game, I wasn't entirely sure why some phrases went with the objects that they did (I did have to end up resorting to trying random combinations until they worked). But I like the concept and the art style was nice. Thanks for participating!

666 by Matheus Leite 2024-04-18T01:11:59Z

Fun game! Took me a second to figure out that things were color-coded. But once I did, I very much enjoyed this. Thanks for participating!

The Forgotten by sycaDelion 2024-04-20T01:36:15Z

Simple, but effective! I can definitely seem myself getting addicting to this type of game.
