Cool concept! It was a bit of a grind but I beat it. The secret monster path was exciting and unexpected. I never spent my precious gems on upgrading the monster spaces. What would have happened if I did?
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD47 → Looping Meadows

Very grindy. It worked well, though, and I liked the dice rolls.
Thanks @danman9914 and @lelulagames, I've made a rebalanced version that rewards the player for each step they make and rebalanced the costs/rewards a little, but in the spirit of the Ludum Dare itself I can't replace that for the entry.
If people are interested in the rebalanced version it can be found at https://kirbloid.itch.io/looping-meadows-rebalanced as it's just an experimental change but I don't think that's fair to replace the entry itself.
Good loop. It's a nice idea to play with a table board!
aiaiai, 254 turns later T_T. its realy "simple" but it does fit the theme.
I like the idea of a dice game where you can change things up to get advantages. Like I set up a line of magic portals to guarantee I would take the wilderness route. Could be interesting to see this taken further. Good jam game.
Seems like a clever engine building game. If you could tell what a space does when you're considering an upgrade and while standing on it, it would help make decisions easier.
Nice game. Like the way to upgrade the tiles. After a while it feels boring, but I guess it's not your fault, its the theme. Probably that is why: it is cool jam entry :)
I managed to finish the game in 411 turns with 4k hearts and 1k diamonds. First impression - it's really cool idea to mix a board game with some sort of resource management. The graphics and sound are nice (although sound is playing only in the left channel). As for the gameplay it's really slow at the beginning, you have to wait for a lot of turns to be able to open new paths. Also the endgame become a little bit repetetive and boring as you're just waiting for lucky dice roll to collect right amount of diamonds. But overall it was fun to play. I like the concept, maybe you can develop and balance it further.
Didnt realize the renovate could turn spaces into gem mines until long into playing. Ended up being a cool balance between keeping spaces as hearts and turning some into gem mines
Don“t know why I played this so long... very relaxing, despite the Dices also some strategic decisions (Magic portal).
Nice entry!
This is fun! If I had figured out earlier how awesome monster tiles are when upgraded, this wouldn't have taken me 387 turns to complete. I actually ended up putting a bunch of teleporters in front of the monster side path, just so I could hit it every time and reap those sweet sweet resources.
Great job! Witty dialogue and realistic art.
Really enjoyed this one. The music was super relaxing though it did only come through the left channel of my headphones. Graphics worked nicely and things were really clear on how everything worked. Small nit pick is that I would have liked to have been able to see the costs and the effects of my choice at the same time. Having to wait to see how much something cost, or be reminded of what that thing did was a little annoying. Great entry!
Very enjoyable and crisp game! I liked the bird, and the general feeling of looping around the circle, building up gems. It's got a nice mix of strategy, luck, and good ol' fashioned farming. I wish there was a clearer visual distinction of what lvl. my tiles were tho.
Overall, great compo entry!
Great execution of the theme! Very "incremental-esqeue". I only had sound coming out of the left side of my headphones, which was a bit annoying, but didn't detract from the experience too much. I really like the idea of building up the board over time, great job!
As a board game lover, it is pleasant to see dice and engine building here. The pixel art is well made, and the relaxing music sounds really good. The option of unlocking new paths is interesting, while I am not sure if I can get enough extra profit from them. I am glad to know that there is a rebalanced version and will look forward to it.
Nailed the theme! And I loved the art and personality of the characters, GUI, and board. Couldn't quite grasp the point of the monster, though. I enjoyed how I could strategize my turns and turn the board into a finely-tuned gem machine. Well done!
A hypnotic game. Brilliant example of "easy to learn, hard to master". Great job.
I ended up playing this game much longer than I thought, I really liked the mood and it felt very polished! It answers well the theme and it is pretty addictive, very well done !
I won! 262 turns to complete! I was a bit lost at the beginning, as I didn't notice I could turn spaces into gem mines, but then I understood it and it was very fun to play!
