This is by far the best game I've played so far. I found the elastic mechanic really interesting - never saw something like it in a game before. Awesome job!

This is by far the best game I've played so far. I found the elastic mechanic really interesting - never saw something like it in a game before. Awesome job!
Impressive game design. I maight be more funny with more catapult like marbles.
I love the idea of this one! Very innovative. I think what would help this game to stand out is to have a tutorial level (ofcourse) and changing that pixel font to something more legible, I had hard time reading the menu :( But Overall, love the style, love the innovativeness of it, with more game juice and little bit of explanation this could be a really fun game! Maybe even with some story, focused on fighting rings etc, would be fun!
Awesome Graphics! Looks and feels super polished! Took me a while to figure out that a dash / drop generator combo works way better then to just run and stretch the borders and place a generator. Music is nice too, but at some point theres too much bass for my liking. Overall, nice Entry! Kudos!
Had never imagined an mechanism like that. 5 for the innovation! The whole graphic style is pretty coherent and harmony. The difficulty is also progressive and suitable. Great work!
Very cool entry and a clever gameplay mechanic, really enjoyed playing your game ! Congratulations !
What I liked: - Unique mechanic that feels quite polished! - Cool artstyle - Nice music
What I didn't like: - It's not exactly clear how I should play the game, took me while to explore all the controls, don't understand why I should bounce when I can use my attack, it feels more reliable? Monsters seems to go from all directions rather randomly, that makes it even harder to aim via stretching the area :(
What I'd suggest: - Maybe it would be more clear if monster would come in waves from each direction, also maybe if canisters also could explode, that way you could place them in a way of a horde and launch your self into it to explode? - Also maybe player character should have HP and the game should be all about bouncing yourself into the enemies, quickly moving with dash, no attack button.
This game have some really smooth controls, the hits felt solid, and the dash zippy. It felt frantic but doable. would be a fun multiplayer game too I think.
Solid game design. The elastic mechanic is really cool, and the game feel is incredible. Nicely done!
Wow this was amazing and is my new favorite for the jam so far. I love the artwork and the mechanics around the elastic fence. Great work, this would be a really cool project to continue after the jam.
Love the art, love the elastic gameplay mechanics. Had fun trying to figure out the game but agree it was kinda weird to figure out how I was supposed to play. God job!
Heads up that your web build is broken on mac! It causes chrome/firefox to hang and potentially crash. Doesn't work in Safari either.
My team's game has the same problem. It's an issue with Godot 4's web export. See this github issue: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/70691
Might be worth uploading a Mac build so Mac users can download and play! I'll play the web version on a non-mac later so I can rate it
Well crafted, intresting mechanics. I first tought the rubberband itself should be able to damage the enemies, maybe smashing them into eachother.
Really clever idea and mechanics, love the graphics and quick gameplay loop. Would be nice if there was some sort of scoreboard to keep track of your best attempt but a really solid effort!
Very smart idea ! I felt like a mexican catcher using the elastic to smash his opponents !
@kiberptah thank you for the exhaustive review ! The idea was indeed to make the player discover by itself the mechanics and maybe develop new techniques to kill ennemis. Using the elastic instead of the attack can be sometimes better when there are packs of ennemis ! But you are right having them all come from a direction could actually be funnier since it would be easier to use the elastic !
Finally the character already has HP (top right corner of the screen), but it's probably not super visible and HP are shared with the core, maybe separate healthbars above the player and the core would be easier sure !
The explosion mechanics is also quite interesting ! Maybe we could try it without spending too much time coding it !
@boxedmeatrevolution thanks for the feedback ! It appears indeed that Godot webbuilds are broken on macs (i wish it was the only thing), we'll try to upload a downloadable build :) !
Nice idea and good execution. I don't know if it's weirdly balance or if I'm just bad, but I can't manage to play longer than 30 seconds :(
@Ysendrin do you use the buttons to kick/dash/place poles? You should definitly not die after 30s.
@schadocalex oh wow, I thought you could only hit enemies with the elastic thing. It's a whole other game now...
Cool game with a fun central mechanic. I had a little trouble getting used to the elastic in combination with the attack but it made more sense each time I played.
great art, awesome sounds, a really unique idea and a great interpretation of the theme, i personally liked it a lot!
Super cool application of the theme, literally making the limited space your "weapon".
I like your game, was a interesting use of theme!
Well done! Take a candy! :candy:
Game fits perfectly with the theme. Very original and juicy. Sound effects where chosen correctly and fits well with the art style. Because of the text I thought the move controls were 2QSD, which doesn't seem to be correct. It was unclear to me while playing that I had to place generators. Because of this I died after a certain amount of time without really knowing why. A little tutorial explaining how to place generators would have been nice.
This line thing is so satisfying. Very original mechanic to Limited Space theme. "2QSD" in controls was also questinable moment for me :). Nice art and music. Love tasty glitch effects.
Very sick game. Great job on the audio too. really nice implementation. I'm just amazed by how cool the game looks and feels. Cheers!
The controls can be a bit tricky to get used to, and I didn't fully understand all the different aspects of the game design. However, the game aligns perfectly with the theme, and it has the potential to offer a great depth of gameplay for a game jam.
So cool!
Quite an awesome game. Looks amazing and plays well. Good job!
Hey, I’m the host of the Ludum Dare score chasers tournament for this jam
Wanted to ask for score chasers if you were fine with me playing some gameplay of your game in the background in the waiting period / intermission. In the waiting period its going to cycle between gameplay of a bunch of different games in the background (with music from games in the jam playing as well)
@ategon of course ! and feel free to make some review if you want / can, we were actually kinda wondering what could make the game funnier to play / tryhard.
Unique idea, very good idea for this theme ! The game is really great polish it's impressive
This game absolutely needs to be continued in development, it's really good
This game is so cool :D !
Got a chance to boot into Windows and play this game. Excellent work on the physics. Don't really have any feedback, it was easy to understand the game.
Interesting idea that really fits the theme! I really liked how polished the game is!
