An interesting game idea, well within the theme!
It feels a bit bugged (no pun intended) with the extremely sensitive WASD camera and the pathfinding sometimes.
Very neat prototype for a Jam though and I like the sounds and models!
Great idea with a lot of potential! Maybe it was a bug but I found it real funny when two harvester ants fought over the same package. A bit finicky controls, e.g the panning was not rotated when the camera was, but nice graphics and the idea was clearly shown. Nice! :ant:
Pretty cool game concept! I liked how fast the units moved, it felt fluid. The camera angle was a bit strange to me, but I figured it out after some tinkering.
Ant RTS supremacy :sunglasses:. I liked how the harvester ants automatically returned after gathering their max amount of resources. It was a bit difficult to manually send all the harvester ants to multiple packages while panning back to the base to send a fire ant to kill a wasp, then trying to find the harvester ants again afterwards though.
I found this game a little too hard. I feel like the sweet spot for Ludum Dare games are games that are fairly easy to get through but where you get a good sense of progression. With the food getting further and further away it felt like my defeat was somewhat inevitable...
That said, managed to keep those wasps away for a while!
Had a nice Pikmin-esque look to everything. Do wish the camera was not so zoomed in though, with the fast camera action it's pretty easy to get lost while looking around.
Awesome entry! It took me a while to understand that you had to left click on units and right click on where you want to send them. But after I learnt that it was fun!
Congratulations on developing King of the Hill! Your blend of RTS elements with the unique theme of protecting an anthill is both creative and engaging. The mechanics of using harvester ants to gather food while defending against wasps add strategic depth to the gameplay. The controls are intuitive and user-friendly, making it accessible for players. This game has great potential, and I can't wait to see how it evolves. Fantastic job
Funnily enough, I was initially planning to do a game related to ants for this jam but decided to do something else.
This definitely has potential with polish and more mechanics. The pathing could use a bit of work. I've found that my ants would get stuck behind the hill.
cool idea! it took me like several tries to get the hang of the control, buut in the end it was fun for a while!
Great job
This game has quite a quite an appealing 3d look to it, and I enjoyed the idea of controlling and strategizing with an ants vs wasp concept. I would like to see a version of this game where I could have the opportunity to control a large army at once, splitting up responsibilities, and stuff like that. Brought me back to warcraft days on shareware demo discs. Thanks for making this.
At first I had trouble collecting food, I think because of the hitbox of the clods, but then I got used to the controls and had fun killing hornets. A game with an interesting premise and nice visuals that could be expanded with more ants and mechanics.
Thanks for submitting your game to the stream! If you wanted to watch it again in the future heres the vod of the stream (with a chapter for your game)
