Nice vampire survivor-ish game! I liked the cute veggie sprites. I liked the skills and enjoyed the game!
Very fun entry, I found myself playing several times! The gun felt pretty underwhelming compared to the other attack types, but maybe I just didn't find the right upgrades. Loved the sprites, animations and sound effects as well!
Also a small sidenote: Restart didn't work for me (Windows build), the game got stuck on the menu screen.
Neat idea! I myself wanted to make some kind of Vampire Survivors harvesting game when the theme got announced :D Btw. art is really cool, especially love the animated veggies
This is the best game I've played today! Super polished and very well scoped.
@fargred Thank you for your feedback, we did a hotfix for the "restart" issue that was quite a problem for this type of game
Hi, very nice graphics ! I didn't uderstood the farming thing at first but really cool game
Cool idea combining a vampire survivors game with farming as its more difficult to defend a certain point. Good graphics and great enemy pixel art deisng and animations!
This game did not helped me like carrots more. Thank you for the endless game mode, my longest run was 25minutes, I needed a few test run to seek the best strategy. The difficulty is kind of a bell curve, but once you have enough upgrade you are just OP and can last forever.
Super fun, enjoyed playing a lot, love the animation of the tomatoes.
@fargred thanks for your feedback. I agree the realisation on the gun could a bit more punchy! Although functionally I actually find it quite effective when upgraded a bit. Especially when playing with an analogue controller, so you can aim more precisely!
In the early game it's useful to snipe the enemies coming at you while you stay on a field. Later on, it allows you to run towards the lone enemies in front of you while the horde is at your back.
The first time I managed to farm all 15 fields was when I got the gun upgraded enough actually, give it a chance and you won't be disappointed  !
The polishing of this game is insane! The pixel art is also amazing and I really enjoyed the music!
Loved the Vampire Survivor inspiration with a farming twist! The vegetable sprites are amazing and the soundtrack captures the stress of having a horde of sentient vegetables chasing after you. Also fun upgrades to play around with. Nice job! I survived for 8 mins both times I played š . Need to get better!
Lovely little coffee-break game to have at work. I really loved the overall vibe of it all, specially the cute little sprites. Gameplay was solid Vampire Survivor esque, but the start was a bit slow for all the tries I had, perhaps could have sped it up. Another gripe I had was the UI, somehow I didn't notice the top full-wide bar, maybe it's just me. Otherwise a cute & lovely polished experience at the start of my workday~
Good job!
Super fun game! Obviously it's ripping off vampire survivors but it's a really good implementation of that.
I eventually managed to survive using a defense mechanic - I mainly upgraded walking speed and was able to outrun all the vegetables. However, since the enemies kept accumulating, at some point frame rate started to really drop (I played using the web version). After farming 11/15, my frame rate was so low the game was barely playable, and then the enemies won.
Still it was a really fun game and I'll definitely play more to try to win it! (maybe using a more aggressive strategy next time). Maybe next time I'll try to download and play the binary version to avoid the frame rate drops.
Thank you for making the game!
A fun version of Vampire Survivor! Fits the jam theme well and is well executed!
Oh I'll definitely get sucked into this one. The vegetable animations are just the cutest things, and the farming mechanic is a nice added layer of depth  Fantastic work all around!
Nice game! veggie animation is really fun and cool )) 5/5.
I really like the "hold your ground" mechanic. It brings the survivors genre to the farming genre!
At first I thought that the mechanics would be slightly different, but it turned out there is something new and interesting! Graphics at a height
I liked the idea of having to interact with a static field while a crowd of opponents is coming at the player. The sense of progression was blurred by the fact that several types of attacks are already available to the player at the start, rather than just one, as in Vampires. Thanks for the game!
Not easy to know what to say about this game! I loved the graphic universe and the musical atmosphere. The animations are really good and it brings a lot of fun. On the other hand, I had a hard time understanding the gameplay and the upgrades of my character. The scenery could have been a little more varied to make it easier to find your way around. Great game that deserves future developments.
What fxxking crazy gameļ¼So Hardļ¼But I love it. Image
I love this game xD! The feeling of being chased by 500 living vegetables is something else
I entered the game jam with compo. I loved to make a susrvivor game but the scope whas to big you did it ! Nice balance between te weapons like the harvestting bonus good idea. Art nicly done, love the rolling tomato. Sounds are matching and the music is amping the treath of being hunted by killer carrots :) 5/5 no doubt about it.
great game ! the art is top notch and loves the flow of the game GG!
I was one of the first to play your game as the deadline for submitting projects ended. Then it was cool and polished.
It's a little sad that you added a lot of features and don't indicate that this is a post-ludum version, although the whole ludum is based on the honesty of the participants.
Really great VS inspired game with a cool harvest mechanic. So mixing two games into one. The pixel art is amazing - really love it.
This was really fun! The balance/scaling of the upgrades felt great, made me play longer even after finally managing to farm all the fields. I love the tomato rolling animation too.
After few tries I decided that those enemies weren't worst killing. My strategy became to run and farm. I just buy movespeed and farmspeed ameliorations.

So I had few enemies tracking me. But I managed to win !!!

Good job it was a blast !
the veggies are so cute :> very addicting game, i kept powering through and holding off on the last farm to get more upgrades for fun while a giant salad mob was marching towards me, then was pleasantly surprised at the implementation of endless mode after winning all the farms. The pacing of it was just nice imo, gets a liiiittle bit tense as the vegetable ocean kept building up but as long as you keep farming it was always managable. good job with this fun game :>
@tusya We donāt understand what you are talking about, we did a hotfix for the ārestartā issue that was quite a problem for this type of game. But nothing more. Have we missed something?
This is so much fun!! Definitely a candidate for gold in the fun category. Good job! 2023-01-11_14-19.png
Very addicting and fun little game! The character design is really cute. We liked the rolling tomatoe a lot! A bit of balancing could make this to a real proper game! Would be very cool to see a co-op version of this. Just needs a tad of balancing! Very cool :)
Messieurs, bravo ! That game was goooood ! Had real fun playing it. Quite challenging to me, but art is cute, mechanics are fun, music is cool. One of my favorite entries so far !
It's a fun entry, but I wished I would have seen something like a twist to differentiate it from the basic vampires survivor genre.
Delightful art and sounds! I found the abilities lackluster and very difficult to use for clearing any reasonable amount of enemies. Maybe if I could tell when they were about to trigger or could aim them, it would have been fine. Played several times and only got 6 harvests at most, when I had my "run in a circle to each plot for a half second and let my upgraded rocket sort out the nearest enemy one at a time" strategy down.
It looks like we went for a similar theme.. very vampire survivor-ush
I love the art, it is really super cool! I managed to win btw. I find it well balanced. Kudos!
Is that the winner of LD 52? Probably? Really good art, solid gameplay and overall it's really fun!
Awesome job on the art and animation, it looks great ! The difficulty was definitely not well adjusted, but I had fun amassung a humongous pile of veggies and finally overcoming it nonetheless
Great job! I've enjoyed it very much. It's very creative that you've connected the harvesting with vampire survivors! :v:
This game should have a warning **"Caution Highly Addictive"**
By far the most fun I have had so far playing Ludum Dare games.
I am so tired today because I played this game for hours into the night yesterday, I just had to beat it! And finally did! Yay! My last run took me about 30 minutes. I like how there was also the option at the end to play endlessly.
Seemed really balanced. I liked the random upgrades, it helped force the player to try new strategies.
Most of the time while playing I was thinking "Oh sh*, Oooooh sh*, Oh sh*, sh*, sh*, sh*, sh*, yes! upgrade!, click, Ooooh sh*, Oh sh*, etc"* **Awesomely intense.**
Loved the pixel art/animations and how there was different colored enemies as you got farther into the game.
I'm not sure I can give enough praise, this was the best, *I hope you win!*
I really hope you make this into a full game and release it, I would totally throw money at it!
Nice entry! I enjoyed playing through it, but unfortunately I would complain that it's *unreasonably* long for a LD submission. It got to a point where I wished there'd been 5 or 6 fields rather than 15, because it took me 10 minutes just to get that many. I did like playing through it, but I don't see myself finishing it anytime soon ()! That's probably a lot to do with my skill level, but I would suggest turning the length down, if you make any changes to the game! I only tried *once* and I got about 7 fields done! Good job all of you, I loved the vegetable animations!
Here's a round of applause to each of you!
Pretty obvious that it's a "Harvest" version of [Vampire Survivors](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1794680/Vampire_Survivors/), here's some thoughts:
- Nice graphics. Sprites and animations are cute and fit well. Although some animations (like rolling) don't look well on such camera perspective (tomato rolling backwards look weird). - Sounds are fine, but not balanced with the music volume, so if you want to play with the loud enough music, you'll get spooks every time you cast an AoE explosion. - Colliders sometimes are too big, you get hit and get stuck in obstacles more often than you should by sprites appearance. - Adding multiply attack-abilities to the player character wasn't good decision, it's really hard to control your abilities, especially when you don't know what abilities you got. In Vampire Survivors you at least know what you picked an how it works. - Fun farm mini-mechanic, that help you get more veggies
I like the appearance of the game and also I like the idea to make a Vampire Survivors clone, although I think that it needed to be more different instead of copying all main game mechanics (not good ones, bad ones as well) and not adding interesting ones (like choosing your build and spells). I know that there are some upgrades with level ups, but it didn't feel enough since all abilities already pre-picked for you.
And yeah ā this little guys is cute af ā

Looks pretty good, it is fun and addictive, but I find it a bit frustrating the main objective being standing still when you constantly have to move. Being constantly on the brink of getting killed by a swarm of vegetables is kinda cool, but also brings some frustration not being able to do much about it.

this game is so nice ,,,I like the art style and attack effect , update sysyem is great also
This was great! The graphics were well done and the gameplay was straight forward but challenging. I wish there was an indicator for each attack to let me know when it will attack again - I found myself in a pickle a few times where I thought the attack was about to go off but it didn't and I got hit. I also found that if I took two many hits early on the run was pretty much a wash, so it would have been nice to have some more frequent health regens (maybe enemies could have a random chance to drop health packs? Overall fun though, I played a few times :)
Had fun playing this one! It seems gun bullets stuck on dying enemies which makes them less OP. Farming goals are neat part of the gameplay.
Here is my playthrough:

pretty fun game, i felt sooo slow until i got some movement speed upgrades, smh reminded me of black ops zombie
That tomato walk animation is perfect. sound was also enjoyable to listen to. However I'd porbably enjoy more control over the character or having the cooldown a bit more clear yo I'd be able to make better decisions.
Hi there! It looks like you've used 3rd-party audio assets (music) in your entry. From the [official rules document](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules):
> Youāre free to use 3rd party Artwork/Music/Audio assets, or assets you previously created, **but we ask that you OPT-OUT of the respected voting categories (Graphics, Audio).** You can opt-out of a voting category when you submit your game.
This note was also included in the submission checklist that every participant needed to acknowledge before submitting a game:
> Opt-out of categories here if you and your team didn't make all your graphics, audio, or music during the event. **Many participants are making original graphics, audio and music from scratch during the event. As a courtesy, we ask you to opt-out if you didn't do the same.** See the rules.
but perhaps you passed over it during the submission rush ;P Please opt out of the audio category in light of this! You can still change your opt-in/opt-out settings post-submission.

That aside, this sort of game is always pretty fun, but I would say the sluggish early-game pacing really makes it a chore to get to the interesting parts. The lack of ability to time your attacks sort of adds to that issue as it feels like there's a ton of waiting around in the early game. I just want my cool upgrades! =P
@ddrkirbyisq it is done :) maybe rating that separates music and SFX could be good š
The idea is good. You need to stand at a specific location for a period of time to plant crops, which restricts the player's movement position. However, it feels a little uncomfortable to play in combat, not cool enough, especially the melee attack feels a little useless. May be the problem is about automatic attack detection. But overall I still think the game has great potential.
A fun little game. A little difficult for my likings (only made it to 5/15 farms after a few attempts) but it was well polished, good art and on theme. Well Done!
Nice game, addictive and challenging.
Few comments and my feedback (mostly compared to vampire survivors): - The colliders on the enemies is to big and your starting range on melee feels really small. - The rocks having three colliders that do not match up to the sprints is frustrating - Enemies speeds starts to fast - it might be more fun to increase this over time. - Health pickups from killing enemies would be fun as the challenge is already high - The power ups are nice, but some feel a little too low of a change to be worth picking. - I beat the game using speed and farm speed, as the combat felt quite lackluster (gameplay wise, not graphically) - Given the speed of the veggies the attacks facing forwards feels a little off.
Graphically it is amazing the pixel art is fantastic!
I like the theme and the horde of veggies falling you around is great. just has some mildly frustrating areas in it. Good entry and well done

Fun little bullet heaven. The graphics were great (I especially liked the rolling tomato). The upgrades felt a bit off since they primarily only changed stats rather than having build changing aspects as is usual in the genre but the concept of switching it up with needing to control certain points on the map was nice
Good job with the game. I liked having to balance standing still on the farm plots while also avoiding enemies. I liked the different weapons the player had but the hitboxes on some of them seemed pretty small compared to the enemy hitboxes. This is especially noticeable on the melee attack which is very hard to hit enemies with without taking damage in return. I liked the variety of different upgrades and made for an interesting choice each time.
I love how efficient this game is. With the amount of enemies on screen and it still holds up very well. Great job. I did play this for quite a while just trying to take the enemies out.
Great job. It was really well put together :)
Very solid entry!!! like the amount of variety you managed to add right off the bat without having to find or buy those weapons. Very solid loop, interesting enemy behaviours and overall great game!
Would appreciate you cheking my entry as well if possible! Cheers
I cannot get enough of these sprites, those are the cutest veggies I've ever seen
Super fun. Impressed with all the gameplay and mechanics you implemented. It would be nice if there was a way to heal. I'm not sure if I'm dumb and couldn't figure out where to find heals but overall great job.
@rargrave Hi! You can buy health as part of the random upgrade system. So you sometimes have to do the terrible choice between a new upgrade or a health refill!
Addictive entry! The balance is great and it's fun to try different builds. My only complaint is that the bfxr sounds are a little noisy and especially when multiple enemies are hit by once by the spell my ears hurt. Super solid entry!
Great game! Really well polished and the pixel-art looks great. Well done!
