This was our first time learning Godot and our first ever Ludum Dare submission. We are proud of the progress made throughout these last 72 hours. Although the game is feature complete, we understand that there is still a great deal of polish that is required and would love to hear your feedback.

We are aware of some bugs that are present in the LD56 build: - Funky collision on the Microwave.. - We are lacking feedback on the poppets respawning and dying.. - Not all objects have sound effects, this includes some devices..

We also didn't have time to tutorialize it properly.

Changes will be coming in a post jam update at a later date.

Many thanks for playing our tiny game <3

I love this it was fantastic!

cliva 2024-10-08 11:16

The game has amusing mechanics, not innovative but quite good, the graphics are well-stylized for retro devices, the game has some minor collision issues, but overall it is a very confident project!

Pretty cool game and idea, although it really should give a tutorial at launching the game, because it really took me a while to understand how this works and what I have to do, but it is a curious idea

I was totally calm playing this game. Cool as a cucumber. Didn't scream at all!!! (Please keep the excel sheet!!!! xD )

Wow, I didn't expect a Phasmaphobia-like in this jam. Well done! Could definitely use a tutorial and/or stages with increasing difficulty.

The graphics were amazing in creating an atmosphere, 10 / 10. Seeing as this was your first time with Godot and you cooked this much I am excited for future games!

As others mentioned, collisions issues happened, but they didn't hinder my experience thaaat much.

Amazing visuals entry!

Awesome feel and I loved the camera filter, this is definitely mini Phasmophobia and you did a great job making that work in such a small room and time frame. Tying the ghost to the doll is a good way to make it work and keep the focus, I just wish there was more explanation for these things and how and what you can interact with was clearer in-game. I understood things more when I read the description, but even so more readability in general would be awesome, but then again maybe not being sure exactly what to do makes it scarier. I liked it!

kaiynest 2024-10-12 12:06

Really good graphics, a little hard to figure it out at first and the collisions are a bit off but it was really fun to see a Phasmophobia like game made in 3 days, well done

I like the visual effects and graphics 10/10

I wish I was a microwave

[Thanks for submitting your game to stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2273720699?t=03h07m37s)

Sorry for any unintentional pain we may have caused making you watch us try desperately to use the microwave.

The design, aesthetic, and overall execution of this game is both ambitious and really solid!

I think with just a few minor bug fixes, this would be an excellent spooky experience.

Also Wanted to ask if youre fine with me using gameplay from the game in this LDs [score chasers tournament](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/$405421/ludum-dare-score-chasers-qualification-begins) intermission video. (Would play in the breaks of the tournament on my stream). Last year for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuddhZScWxo

@ategon you're more than welcome to use footage of our game. Thanks for considering us for your video.

I really enjoy the artistic style you've brought, it's incredibly interesting. I also love the idea of the microwave. Yes, I've fantasized about similar scenarios, but you've actually made it happen, which is very exciting. Moreover, you've done such a great job, it's truly amazing!

Really cool game!

empyreans 2024-10-21 17:24

Enjoyed playing your game on stream. Really liked how you handled supernatural here, not many manage to do it as right as you did! Well done!

*Sadly won't be publishing video of it as my playthrough didn't do game any justice. My bad!

I would like to try the more polished version when it's out :)

The dithering is very vibey but I found it pretty difficult to discern what I was doing. If the lights go out while you are holding the EMF reader, finding the spot that you can put it back down again is very difficult.

tetracold 2024-10-24 07:57

loved it, the horror atmosphere is great, the visual style is awesome with the filter and the ps1 look. The sound effect work is excellent, really elevates the spookiness. It's a creative and fun take on the theme! It took me a bit to get used to the gameplay loop, identifying all the clues in time and exploring the environment to find all the tools I could use, but once I did I really enjoyed it.

The only only problem is interacting with things and putting them down took a bit to get used to especially because it doesn't always work

really good entry, I enjoyed it a lot!

savi 2024-10-25 00:22

I think that those from FNAF will have great competition in the future, those guys will have to be careful what they do :3

poppet second win.PNG Poppet is the single greatest game to yet grace this wretched Earth. My poppet playtime is likely rivaled only by those who developed the game. The first time I played Poppet I played it for 40 minutes straight, and there is uncut video evidence of this occurrence. The game initially was really small and in the middle of my screen, and nothing really worked right but I was glued to it. I couldn't stop. My first time playing, I achieved one intentional Poppet prediction with the help of @Autotrophian and called it a night, but with the caveat that if the game were updated to fix the bugs we would 100% be back. Fast forward a couple of days, and there had been a bugfix. And back we were. We played Poppet in-between game requests on stream and in turn played it for an additional hour and 8 minutes, defeating 6 poppets in one night and becoming the first streamer to beat the game even in its still decently buggy state with the help of @Autotrophian and @Langotriel , discovering that this game is stupidly fun when in a call with 2 other people you're sharing your screen with. Fast forward to today where yet another bugfix drops and the game is genuinely perfect now. With v1.2 every game-breaking issue that plagued the game at launch has been patched and this game stands strong as my favorite from this jam. I see so much potential here. To date my total playtime comes out to around 2 hours and 5 minutes, since we came back and defeated every single type of poppet in one night (and an extra phantom for good measure). So as of right now 9 Poppets is the score to beat. This one is a 10/10. Seriously great work.
