Nice job for first jam. I like the sound effects lol. Gets crazy when you have to control more paddles. But fun game!

Nice game, it's a bit hard to get which paddle is yours in time when the ball is close to the edges, but good job ^^
Maybe a good idea: generate blocks every 10s? The control is quite smooth. The game become so hard when controlling 2+ paddles. Nice work on your first jam!
Pretty nice take on a brick breaker! Controlling two paddles is a nice challenge and leads to some fun gameplay. One thing if you continue this concept post jam is changing a bit how the player controlling no paddles works to give the player a bit more control as it feels a bit off to not be able to do anything for 10 seconds. Overall great work for a first LD!
Fun game, the controls swapping are quite tricky (in a good way), i find it particularly difficult to manage a horizontal paddle and a vertical one at the same time.
This is much harder than I thought it will be after reading the description :) It was a nice surprise. Good job!
Pro tip: These sorts of games usually let you influence the ball's direction by moving the paddle at the moment of impact. That way, you can avoid scenarios where the ball is very slowly bouncing back and forth toward the bricks.
Interesting take on these block-breaker type games. I do like how it will sometimes take complete control of all four paddles and I can just sit back and relax. Maybe make it happen a little less often though.
very neat concept! congrats on your fist ludum dare! hope you had funnn!
Nice implementation of a brick breaker! You could do a lot with the simultaneous horizontal/vertical paddles even outside of the 10s theme. Appreciate the in-browser game right on LDJam too!
Wish I had more control over the ball's direction after hitting the paddle - for example, hitting the left side of the paddle could impart a leftward velocity, vice versa for the right side of the paddle. Felt a bit strange when I lost control of all three paddles. Part of me expected a 4th paddle at the top.
Very fun, loved the sound effects and I think you managed to make brick breaker a more intense experience. The only thing I would've liked to see is preventing times where the player controls none of the paddles, also hope you are aware that you can't see the top paddle without fullscreening the game
The concept is cool. Sometimes, it's fait when the pad change while the ball incoming, but eh, it's a game jam and you finish a game! Good job.
Thanks everyone for trying my game out and for the helpful suggestions. I've implemented warning colors for the next paddles, some additional control by using where on the paddle the ball struck, and forced some paddle under the player control at all times. Obviously I cant upload the changes for the dare but the updates really add a quality of life to the game. Thanks again for playing and I'll see you all at the next jam
Awesome work for a first time jam AND going solo! It's definitely difficult to pack in all the details under those circumstances, so I can see why you weren't able to implement a lot of audio. However, it would be a great improvement to add a ticking sound for the final 3 seconds of each 10-second loop, to help warn the player when the switch is about to occur.
