Nice one! I didn't even know what the hell I was doing... I was like click everything. Soon I realized what the heck are all of those cursors. YES, I did not read the game's intro text. So silly.
This is the 2nd game where I see the 10 second is not that much and causes me to rush, which causes my heartbeat up :D

What a great game! Really enjoyed figuring out how to progress to the final level (reached the top on my second try). Not sure if I won though. Does clicking on the reboot button count? I was expecting a Victory screen to welcome me.
I really enjoyed this, the time loop mechanic works great with the theme and it was fun to explore the game!!
Nice art style and sound design! Interesting concept I have not seen before. Perhaps allowing the player to reset moves would work well. Overall, a fun game, Well Done! : )

This is a really impressive game. I was enjoying and then once I started seeing my old mice... it was awesome!
@Vilmantas there is indeed a victory screen. There's a little virus boi on the top floor that is making a break for the reboot button (he's the cause of the reboot loop) popping him will beat the game and show the Victory screen.
Oh, man what a great game! I couldn't get past the 3 switch level, but I love it all. Great music and create minimalistic art. Good job!

This game is so insanely cool! Would loooooooove to see this concept expanded into a larger game, maybe with a series of levels/worlds.

This game concept is great. This is a really nice take on the theme and is a unique type of puzzle that works well. Was fun to see all the cursors moving around from past me
Very creative game + tons of fun. made me want to go back and get the fastest time I could, but I only managed to actually beat it once. I think there were some frustrating things that could have been improved, but 10/10 on the concept and the design. Was generally very nice to look at and listen to. I think it could have been improved by making the downward staircases slightly lower than the upward staircases so that when you accidentally double clicked an exit, it doesn't make you go up and then back down to where you were. Or you could have a short transition period where the timer is paused and you can't click to prevent players from accidentally double clicking.
Either way very good job, this has been my favorite game I've played so far
Reminds me of loop. The game is kind of hard the first time I played but I got to figure it out. A tutorial and maybe a buffer time before start would be great.
So cool! I know you saw on stream, but the realization at the end of the game, on how to progress, and how you showed it visually was so so cool. The little roadblocks you built in felt like they flowed really really well. Great job!

I was familiar with the original Cursor10 game so it was a fun surprise to see this kind of game here.
I have to admit that I was not a huge fan of the original. I found the black and white aesthetic very tiring for my eyes and it made it hard to distinguish between floors. I like how you tried to solve this issue with floor colors which was a neat idea. It relies purely on color so it is not very accessible though. I started missing the floor number the original game had - so maybe a combination from those two would be the way to go? Possibly you could even tinker with some kind of slight up and down animation when swapping floors.
But overall, it was fun to see this genre again. Great work!

Innovative concept but too hard. One floor less would probably help more people finishing the game, I barely managed to get to the top most floor (I hope it's the last one, with 3 boxes at the corners to press at the same time?) - but didn't mange it often enough to press all 3.
The later cursors have to deal with all the movements of the previous ones which makes it harder - but you also have to get further up so double difficulty. If upper buttons would open new things in lower floors this would counteract the doubled difficulty curve.
Or giving old cursors a different shape and way more transparency, so it's less distracting from the main cursor.
That said, it was quite fun and had cool old school vibes.
@turegrappa Thanks! I chose the art style because well I'm not an artist and minimalism is all I can pull off lol XD.
Jokes aside I followed a guide similar to [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW1oRou_WzQ) (can't locate the right one) tutorial last year for Affinity Designer (fantastic software thats far cheaper than adobe tools) and it's actually super easy to make passable graphics for non-artist devs with affinity designer. The isometric tools make it so simple.
@leorid Difficulty tuning in this type of game was actually a lot less intuitive than it seemed. I cut like 4 or 5 floors I had designed, added extra lives, and reduced the hit points on the hit point box. To my surprise, doing all these things actually did very little to change the difficulty (measured by how much time remained in an optimal run). I didn't want to cut further floors as the final result is the minimum required floors to have the 3 puzzles that made the cut. I came to realize its important to have enough floor real-estate to see the compounding effects of good player optimization actually pay off.
The hit point box serves as an additive flow gate, where the first cursor gets through the slowest and all future cursors get through slightly faster than the last. The issue with this is even though the gate is additive, there's a second bottleneck as the first cursor through the gate performs an essential role of holding down one of the buttons and still remains the weakest link holding back the effectiveness of all future cursors.
While the hit point change had quite an impact on only the first cursor that made it through it did little to affect the overall difficultly of the whole game.
At the end of the day the best thing I could do to change the difficulty without losing any of the remaining puzzles would be to adjust the time for each live (which exponentially reduces difficulty as just adding a single second adds a total of 12 seconds, 1 for each life, and in turn each subsequent cursor gets to build upon the extra time the previous cursor had with increasing efficiency). But I wanted to keep the game inline with the 10 second theme.
I did want to change the size of the main cursor to stick out more wants the chaos swarm of cursor starts to set in. Even I was having a hard time keeping track of my Active Cursor in development. If I keep building the project now that I have less of a time constraint this will probably be the first feature I add.

@nash Thanks so much for the play! I wanted to add a floor counter but ended up running out of time. The choice to make the floors have colors was actually just to provide better anchoring for the player. When all the floors were the same color it was actually hard to tell if you went up or down or rebooted to the first floor. After adding the shake effect and reboot soundfx it was a little more noticeable.
In the first version this was quite an issue. I was unable to have any delay in the gameplay loop whatsoever or the replays would break. Once a cursor "dies" the next live MUST start immediately. This is even causing a bug with the very first life due to the delay the opening dialogue creates. This is a pretty heavy design limitation I hope to be able to fix in future updates.
@astrydax Well for me it was less about optimizing but actually getting to the end in time - if one cursor is just a bit too slow, all of them have to wait - at the stage with the boxes, where one cursor unlocks the staircase, next floor too I think, also players have to remember the exact position - any wrong movement will just confuse in future runs. The clicker box - I never managed to get through it with the first cursor that gets to it.
With those waiting times, which I couldn't optimize during one run without sacrificing one live, there wasn't enough time at the end and lots of confusion in subsequent runs because all the cursors are doing different things.
Yes, more time would solve this but another option would be to not only go up. You have staircases downwards ... which I never used at all - why do they exist?
But yea, you could use those to make the player go down again so that the later cursors don't have to pass all levels, this would lower the difficulty too and later cursors would have a bit of breathing time (only going to the third floor, waiting one or two seconds for upper cursors to unlock the door, then passing it).
Just an idea but I understand that balancing the diffculty in this game was unexpectedly hard. And I also do understand that adjusting to this unexpected problem would have exceeded the time limit of this jam. ^^
At the end of the day it's still a good, innovative game - just a bit hardcore, but that's still ok. ^^
@leorid there were puzzles that had you going back down that ended up getting cut, they are left in to go back down to collect extra points for a high score since you really only need to hold a button for maybe a second or two, just enough time for future cursor to go up stairs.
I really like the point you make designing the puzzles to where future cursor don't actually need to visit other floors. That would have been MUCH better design. I'll take you up on that for future updates!
Wow - this is really really impressive! Never played the original so I can't compare it, but I enjoyed the premise and execution of this a lot. Anything with ghosts/multiverse-style many-playthroughs-at-once is always right up my alley, and this was a simple and elegant implementation of that idea. Great minimal graphics, appropriate music/sound - nice work!

Excellent take on the theme, and a very unique idea. The only downside I had was the down staircases. I understand they were part of an unimplemented feature, but perhaps making right click descend would have improved the user experience, preventing unintended user input.
Cool game. This game had the thing I like in a game jam game. First thoughts: Hmm Nice done. The first jam game is always fun. A bit simple but it is finished. Second thoughts: Hey, wait, this is cool. Hmm getting the deeper game-loop with how the previous actions are saved. The third set of thoughts: How can I maximize this? I need to break the code to perfection.

Hey, this is a fun modernization of Cursor*10! I like how you took the graphics in a new direction, they look very appealing while maintaining the nice simplicity of the original. And I liked the ending. :)
this concept is super creative! The game made me feel less lonely after a couple replays because I have a lot of tiny cursor friends to help me out. Talk about blast from the past! love this

Very fun game! Didn't realise for a long time that you could get points clicking on the spikes, I thought they were things that would destroy my character so I avoided them the whole time! Perhaps a more rounded shape might indicate that they are not obstacles to avoid?
Simple graphics but works very well, felt the difficulty was just right for me - not so easy that you can beat it first try, but enough of a challenge to complete and then plenty of replayability in optimising the route and finding times to collect points. Took a few tries, but think I got all the points!

Think it could be a nice tweak if your score rolled over each life, so you could try to maximize it by collecting the points in earlier lives, and then each life after the ghost runs will collect the points again further increasing your score? I think this would then encourage players to further strategise the run to pick up points as soon as possible, with the trade off of less time progressing forward.

The concept of resetting every X seconds and getting help from your past self is taken to its best here! It's simple, smart, fun, and the puzzle aspect is very well done.
I also love that you put some difficulty levels, I guess you saw in playtests that 10s made it too difficult or prevented you to do a cool level design, and this is a very smart solution.

Fun and simple but I see no point in limiting the lives. Just score using the lives. Modern computers are good enough to do this a ridiculous amount. Overall good the music didn't land for me but concept solid.

Came back as I was going through all of the people who played my game and got the perfect 230! Really really cool game.
The looping mechanic is soooo outstanding. I LOVED IT!!!! I have to say, having a difficulty setting changing the seconds gives me contradictory feelings. Great work!
@kimau Lives force you to optimize to solve all the puzzles. Puzzle design variations start to fall apart when the player has infinite lives. There were other puzzles I had that highlighted this a bit better but ended up getting cut for the time frame.
Wow this was an intense experience! I like how it almost felt like multiplayer just watching my past mice(?) do all the different tasks, and every replay just got me more and more exciting to optimize my climb! The minimalistic art style really keeps the focus on the gameplay as well, loved it a lot!

Your entry is well crafted and while the presentation is simple it communicates everything quite well and is actually very engaging. I tried this out, and but had trouble understanding the gameplay based on what was there. Seems there is something around the cursors like I suspected, but couldn't figure out! Nifty time mechanic though, and the graphics were super neat.

this game is great! the idea is super good (and how you get to understand it too), graphics and audio are nice too. i loved seeing my previous runs cursors shaking not knowing what to do hahaha
