i like the aesthetics in this, good stuff!

slavturtle 2024-04-16 02:02

Love the crusty graphics.

bry 2024-04-16 02:06

I don't think the embed works on the LD page, but it works fine on itch. Controls for adjusting the audio were a bit confusing (< and > keys) but worked well enough once I figured it out. I really liked the particle effects. Movement was a bit floaty, could have used more acceleration to the max speed. The retro style was done very well! It gets fun and engaging once the screen starts to fill up with balls.

crylica 2024-04-16 02:09

Cute graphics! I found the gameplay pretty hard, it's punishing as you juggle more balls, but it's a fun arcadey game. The game could match with the theme better? Great job though!

rustywolf 2024-04-16 02:26

God this is difficult, in a good way. Love the tunes

storeyware 2024-04-16 02:32

Digging the tunes. Nice work!

hazard-game-dev 2024-04-16 09:10

Great art, pretty interesting idea. Wish I had more control because it's pretty difficult.

dreamscale 2024-04-17 05:23

I had a lot of trouble figuring out how/why the platforms would move, but otherwise this was addicting! Nice art style as well.

hsg-gringo 2024-04-17 13:34

very addicting! i like it :)

oni 2024-04-17 13:35

Nice twist on breakout! Loved that the platforms you summon gets the momentum from the player when summoning. Great music! I found the easy mode a bit hard though. I think maybe the balls could be bigger on this mode.

thomz12 2024-04-17 13:39

Fun game! Really like the music and pixel graphics. Movement felt a little sluggish/unresponsive, both in-game and in the menu.

Like others experienced the Ludum Dare embedded version doesn't seem to work. It might be because you need to change the Unity export settings as mentioned here: [https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/](https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/)

Anyway, great entry!

cananaman 2024-04-17 20:31

Really fun! I got 42900 points. Good stuff

ben-toosey 2024-04-17 21:56

Addictingly tricky, well done! Had a lot of fun juggling pixels!

the-bm 2024-04-17 22:04

A little bit on the diffcult side, but got fun after some rounds.

themixedmaster 2024-04-17 22:34

The idea seems really cool but this game is impossible for me. The highest I could get was 5900 on easy mode. The controls are just really slippery. I think having the movement be more responsive would help a lot. I can't manage multiple balls bouncing around at once. I don't think I ever had more than 2 on screen at the same time lol. The music is nice though and I like the low resolution aesthetic.

heretic 2024-04-18 09:29

groovy retro aesthetic, couldn't beat your record:)

johnkoop 2024-04-18 10:35

Like the idea, it took me a minute to figure out the controls and how to play. Found a small bug, if you raise the volume from full, it'll keep going up without raising it!

pt09 2024-04-18 14:07

Funny game, unfortunately it doesn't work on browser

justuspan 2024-04-18 14:08

Good idea which had obviously considered the theme.I always like to see this kind of innovation game which combines new idea together with some classic game genre. The Music and SFX are also pretty enjoyable. The only shortcoming for me personally is that the difficulty is too hard for me. Good job! Snipaste_2024-04-18_22-04-34.png

zekysky 2024-04-18 14:11

very original guys. keep working on this!!

ricky-owings 2024-04-18 14:16

I had a pretty good time playing. If you can get a ball to have no x component to its velocity, you can point farm pretty easily. The acceleration on the player seemed a little bit clunky and hard to work with. I liked the graphics for the game; it had the old timey style! The music was simple, but it fit the style of the game in my opinion. Screenshot 2024-04-18 101548.png I was able to get 87900 points!

mr-esport 2024-04-18 21:56

Super polished game, great feeling of varying difficulty. Once you accumulate everything it becomes very easy to Lose everything or Come back from the dead. x) Sweet

comigor 2024-04-18 22:03

Loved the idea, but even the easy mode was too hard to me (I am basically unable to keep track of 3+ balls at the same time!) Excellent execution, controls, and overall polishment!

salanyel 2024-04-19 01:10

This is hard! I'm not good at it. But it's interesting, you want to play more to become better and summoning the platform is a nice take (and require skills to play !)

sariiger 2024-04-20 07:07

Really nice take on Arkanoid, loved it! I managed to get over 100k points. pong.png

doonutsaur 2024-04-20 16:17

nice concept and hard but addicting!

saffwong 2024-04-20 20:14

I really like this game! Fun, very arcadey, I could play this for hours with a rougelike mode. I don't know how much it meshs with the theme but I'm quite into it. :D Nice job on this

piero-pbes-studio 2024-04-20 21:38

excellent gameplay idea, I love the atmosphere of the game, the pixel art is simple and effective as well as the music. good game

ategon 2024-04-21 13:39

Thanks for submitting your game to the stream! If you wanted to watch it again in the future heres the vod of the stream (with a chapter for your game)

And I'm the host for the ludum dare score chasers tournament this Ludum Dare. Wanted to ask if youre fine if I put some gameplay of the game in an intermission video. Last year for reference:

nardandas 2024-04-21 18:24

@ategon Thanks for playing, it was really cool! Go ahead, no issues from me!

nardandas 2024-04-22 04:11

@bry thanks for the feedback about the buttons, I think I need to make them work with and without shift. There's definitely some room for tuning on the accel and drag.

@dreamscale I think it's not super clear it's a physics sim where the summoned platform follows your velocity, I'll have to play with that.

@oni it definitely needs an overall balance pass. I'll have to play with ball size!

@themixedmaster I totally get it, it's kind of a brain breaking thing to get used to juggling so many things. I'll have to figure out how to make it more accessible at the start. Thanks for playing!

@ricky-owings yeah, a great strat is to get a ball going with zero velocity and divert your attention to other balls to stay alive and get higher multi.

@saffwong I hear you on the roguelike mode! I wanted to implement it but I started on this on the last day so I didn't have time. I think that'll be a post jam version.

Thanks all for your feedback! Glad everyone enjoyed the music too, this was my first time in a while trying chip tune.

jhax 2024-04-22 21:14

Lovely twist on a sort of breakout style game. I really like the depth of mastery that comes from the platforms moving off the player's momentum (even if I am not very good at it - I have to recognise that it is very cool).

wuppos 2024-04-27 11:52

This was a very nice and complete package, with very nice graphics a great tune and gameplay which is a lot of fun! :D At first it was very hard to predict where a ball would land and when I should summon a platform, but after a bit of practice I became better at it. In the end I got a score of 64800 on easy mode which I am proud of ^^ (Compared to some other people in this comment threads it is not very good though >.<)

The one little point of feedback/suggestion would be to be a bit more lenient with the ball hitting the platform. Maybe if you are a little late placing the platform, or the ball just misses the platform, the ball could still go up. That might make it feel a bit nicer to play. Maybe it would make it too easy, but just a suggestion.

Thanks a lot for making this! This was fun :D
