After Playing the game i know you are a experienced developer, the game loop is really good , i wish the intensity of music increased by time but i can understand the time limit , 5 stars for everything else , Also i can use some feedback on my game if you can check it out

jeffsobel 2023-01-09 07:49

A very polished, tight game. The graphics, music, and atmosphere are exactly what I would want in a game like this. I could see this being a lot of fun with more mechanics and items to interact with. Keybinds instead of clicking to select the item each time would also help when dust starts to pile up! :)

alexhoratio 2023-01-09 07:54

Wow! Great game!!! It reminded me a little bit of Insaniquarum, which is also a game I loved :D

epb9000 2023-01-09 07:54

Hahahaha, that got dark quick and unexpectedly.

I wish those mana vortexes had some minimum distance from the berries that they would spawn - during the frantic chaos I couldn't tell them apart and would click on the berries. Lost quite a few fairies to that. I managed to get a flawless harvest. (TWICE!) The harvest scene will never not be funny.

Alternatively, a slightly longer time from vortex formation to fairy consumption would probably ease that frustration too.

gross-papillon 2023-01-09 18:24

I absolutely adored playing this. This reminds me of that one aquarium game on facebook back in the day. The vibe is immaculate! Beautiful pixel art! I could chill and play this for hours. Did you make the music?

catfort 2023-01-09 19:45

Thank you for the kind feedback, and yes we did make the music!

tygrak 2023-01-09 21:11

Amazing music! Loved it. The graphics are really nice too.

The twist reminds me of an old (flash?) game called "Can Your Pet?".

cornflowerblue 2023-01-10 00:52

I actually wasn't expecting that, lol.

john333 2023-01-10 02:06

A fun little game! It was very relaxing!... and then a rift suddenly got 3 of my fairies.. still was relaxing tho!... and then i harvested them and it turned out dark real quick... its still relaxing, right?.. and then i kept on trying to click spam through dozens of faires at once! haha

Had fun, its a realy nice and polished game with a really cute art!

dgo 2023-01-10 06:24

Great game! Loved the art and the harvesting was hilarious

meep 2023-01-10 18:45

Really liked the idea of this- I used to be obsessed with Insaniquarium so this was really nostalgic. I appreciated the in-game tutorial, you don't see them often in jams given the constraints- great work and pretty pixel art! :D

organicpencil 2023-01-10 20:35

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

*ahem*

The, uh... I can't seem to focus right now. Oh my god.

publicidadeba 2023-01-10 23:02

Great vibe and killer ending.5/5 mood.

mr-sun 2023-01-10 23:46

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Gud game very chill

Until it's not

Great art and sound design! Good work!

gabrimer 2023-01-11 00:45

Loved it! The art style was amazing, had a very relaxing soundtrack, and a pretty shocking but funny twist.

I do like how you have to always keep an eye out so you don't lose your fairies, rather than just sitting there waiting for them to grow.

picross 2023-01-11 01:47

"Hmm I wonder how this fits the theme...."

OH

Hilarious stuff and nice work! Could easily be expanded with different fairy types, different foods, different production speeds, etc!

bezbiletnym 2023-01-11 06:32

Very polished game and a very fun twist with harvesting fairies  I think it has potential to become a commercial release

bentglasstube 2023-01-11 06:43

I enjoyed this game until the 50 fairy stage, where my hand started to hurt from all the clicking. I really don't have any complaints aside from that. Maybe some way to automate the fairy dust would help with needing to click less. The music and sounds fit the mood perfectly, and the art was great, especially after the harvest.

nardandas 2023-01-11 06:44

Nice little game! I got to "Flawless Harvest" but my wrist started hurting so I had to quit. A bit click-heavy!

offdutyextractors 2023-01-11 07:05

Felt like I was playing osu

alaah 2023-01-11 08:41

Flawless audiovisuals and a solid loop. Got to /80 when my wrist started to hurt. The amount of clicking required is unhealthy. There should be an autoclicker upgrade, or fairies should have a larger hitbox, or the game should have an accessibility option that doesn't involve clicking.

Love how grapes can only grow on the tree but it took me a while to figure out.

jaj 2023-01-11 10:35

As others have said very good game loop. I loved the mood, sound and graphics! One thing I would change is that the portals cannot spawn right over the fairy's at the beginning over the game. After the introduction of the portal, the next two portals both spawned right over a fairy. That was a bit unfortunate.

adamwatters 2023-01-11 12:39

Very polished game (and interesting ending). The gameplay is simple and fun, and the music is also good. Well done.

ianlux 2023-01-11 12:46

Wasn't expecting that twist hahah Great clicker/simulation/farming game (can't even find one genre to put the game in xD)

Found the artstyle very charming!

midorimelody 2023-01-11 15:33

OMG You made me care about these fairies. I had to save the from black holes and feed them and take care of them..... and then they just get slaughtered in front of me. I also loved how the grapes really gradually disappeared. This was an amazing game.

moonizz 2023-01-11 17:15

Great twist on the story where you start enjoying the game and caring about fairies. And then you just brutally murder them for a drink. :sob:

Great game loop, played until I harvested /80 and got the second Flawless

tildecat 2023-01-11 18:24

Oh, what a plot twist! But visual is nice and also gameplay.

pokopish 2023-01-11 18:44

Very nice game with a nice little twist. The graphics suit the game very well and elevate the mood. I played until you needed 70 to harvest. The text and image at the end of each harvest made me want to continue on to see what she would say. Good job!

echerry 2023-01-11 19:53

The coziest aim trainer I could find here. Plays nice in endgame, but the start is boring a bit. Nice entry, had a lot of fun!

acdimalev 2023-01-11 22:44

Nice game flow. Had to stop after excellent to give my wrists a break.

Quick thought for early-game balance. You might want to try adding a delay before the rifts eat the fairies. I'm pretty sure it won't negatively affect mid-to-late gameplay at all. But with the pace that the game starts at, the rifts feel a bit like a random game-over.

paulsams 2023-01-12 00:08

Cool. But why was it necessary to let the player choose where to put fairies and grapes, if it does not directly affect anything)? Only gives the danger that you may not have time to remove the hole while pulling back and forth. But the game cycle turned out to be cool).

tpunisher33 2023-01-12 01:33

@paulsams I think that's a valid point about the game and one that was discussed among the team during playtesting. I think the core balance to identify when picking between the two options presented is the balance between the efficiency of gameplay and the agency of the interaction. If there were no options as to how to place elements when purchasing there would definitely be a faster and potentially more accessible game-loop; however, at the opportunity cost of restricting the player's ability to feel agency (or the effect of adding their own touch) when placing elements. While I don't personally notice the disconnect and would have been fine with the purchase buttons functioning as you've described, other members of the team did prefer the ability to place things and went on to spearhead the placement restrictions for the food to add a perceived physical connection with the background art.

Upon reviewing the decision critically, I feel we made the right call. The overall structure of the game dedicates some 80% of the visual area to the terrarium and thus (in a static screen game like this) approximately 80% of the overall game-loop is dedicated to this 2D space. If we'd made buttons simply place things arbitrarily in the space, the total utility of the enormous commitment we made to that layout would decrease. In that scenario, the play space would lose more than a third of its total gameplay utility as it's now relegated only to dust gathering and warp dismissal instead of also being part of the means of placement. There's a lot of other smaller benefits we get by making the player manually place elements as well, but those are a longer discussion about timings and mouse motion that I'm honestly not qualified to deep-dive into, but I hope this has given you a sufficient answer

haotian-chen 2023-01-12 03:05

lovely art, decent gameplay. though i fount the rift can spawn just right at a fairy's face and I have no time to respond, this can be a little frustrating. and the end, yeah, didnt see that comming, but, well, yeah, why did i not surprised lol

max-knightley 2023-01-12 03:08

Not bad at all! I especially liked the music - very soothing, really works well with the tone. (Or at least the apparent tone.) Couldn't manage to keep up once I passed the forty-fairy mark, though.

fluburbio 2023-01-12 05:40

What a superb game! The art is gorgeous and the game system is simple but very well thought. The things I have to say have already been said, it can be a bit frustrating when a rift opens up directly under a fairy, and hand placing fairies and fruits could something cause a time handicap to close a rift.

The blender at the end doesn't really look like the rest of the game, was it wanted or by lack of time? Anyway, great job!

const-arch 2023-01-12 06:26

I got a good laugh out of the twist, well done on that part. I enjoyed the gameplay for a while and beat the 50 level. 50 was enough of a scramble for me, so I tapped out there.

olddog 2023-01-12 09:19

So cute !!!like this game very much ,,hope for more content of this game

tannimun 2023-01-12 20:17

Oh my god, my fairies! :o I liked the game a lot. It's a bit different from other games. The vibe was fully on, cute graphics, nice soundtrack, good atmosphere. I was first sad when the rift swallowed my fairies, but now knowing their true purpose they might have been better off!

jonas-tyroller 2023-01-12 20:54

You chose a great scope for your game. It's all pretty and polished and feels like a very round experience. Well done.

yaen 2023-01-12 21:13

I enjoyed this quite a bit. The music is very fitting for the setting and scenery, the graphics are nice and pretty and then it happens... Replace the fairies with farm animals and you get what happens irl all the time... Clever game!

evedoll 2023-01-12 23:45

Ahhh! Such a cute little clicker game that turned... not so cute! The mood of the main game was super chill and hypnotic even. The music gave me foggy early morning feelings and the shading on the willow tree was so nice! When the music cut and I got the sudden dark ending screen background I was immediately like "uh oh!" That twist got a chuckle out of me!

I agree with the choice to leave in placement of the berries/fairies as for me it did allow more feeling of agency/attachment and made me at least try and form some strategies. I ended up putting all my berries in a cluster to try and keep the fairies somewhat grouped together during feeding time. As long as a vortex didn’t spawn there, I could be slightly slower in my time to get rid of it, and if a vortex did spawn there since I kept the berry cluster pretty high and in the middle I was able to quickly move my mouse there.

faeries.png Overall, I really enjoyed the game. The balance was good - pretty much the whole time I was trying to juggle between all the tasks and none of them got to that tedious point. I think the vortexes was a nice touch and forced me to be more mindful of the terrarium instead of just getting lost in button clicking. Also! Great tutorial! It can be hard to plan for a tutorial during a game jam and that one was such a nice one with slowly feeding the player info as they got to the relevant next step.

danmerey 2023-01-13 01:24

Very nice game!

- I like the graphics, sprites and animations - Interesting gameplay, although could be too stressful for such "farmy" game type - I like the idea of almost freely placing plants on the screen - Sounds feel nice - I don't like the Music though, it doesn't fit well in my opinion - Game lacks goal. Getting as much as you can [some resource] is not a very good design. Some upgrades / new pixie types / food types or even decorations could be a nice addition. Current goal will do for jam version though - Controls need some polishing - for example canceling selected type of item should be done by selecting other type of item or pressing the same type again (also Right Mouse Button). Placing several pixies / food in a row requires to press on pixie again evey time, which is not very handy when you need to place 2+ at a time. Letting build 2+ in a row would be nice (and RMB to stop placing). Adding hotkeys for pixies and food would be nice (for example 1 and 2 buttons). - Ending is a funny one, although I can't say I like it very much. Still better than nothing :) Reminds me of a [World of Goo](https://store.steampowered.com/app/22000/World_of_Goo/) animations in the end of a level. Didn't get why you get to continue with all the pixies after such an ending.

All in all – great small game for 5-10 minutes

cloistered 2023-01-13 02:53

Cool game. It would be better if black holes appears with a omen.I feel it's too fast now.

jumpirate 2023-01-13 03:13

A very basic harvesting game. Although there are not many functions, it is very complete. It has ways to improve work efficiency, consumables (food), clear goals, and threats. It would become a great game to add more content.

pazzi 2023-01-13 07:36

.....My babies......my..... Q-Q

This is my favorite....game....

runicpixels 2023-01-13 13:22

Me when I started playing the game. Oh, cute fairies.

... The ending made me sad. :(

danae 2023-01-13 14:29

A really nice small management game! It became more intense and stressful when there where more fairies flying around, but overall still very fun. Great grahics and audio! I was about to ask how you implemented the theme, until I got to the ending stage, oof... Love the twist!

arzi 2023-01-13 14:58

Nice! Simple gameplay, but enough to do for a jam game, and the mana rifts managed to keep everything from getting too tedious.

jfeeefl 2023-01-13 17:13

Good theme and execution! The twist is kinda creepy but interesting. To better serve this performance maybe more interactivity can be implemented? Like dragging those fairies? Having communication with them? Or, in the last scene -- push fairies into the blender on players' hand?

Anyway, the game is really cool. However, the main part of gameplay kinda feel like -- *Aim Lab*? Feel like I have to click fast and accurately all the time, and be focus! Though that maybe isn't kinda bad experience? But it can be optimized perhaps.

Thanks for your work, I have had fun with it!

copito 2023-01-13 17:22

Wow.. I think that's the first time I've literally laughed out loud at a ldjam game, recommend giving people a button suggesting they get a drink irl before clicking to continue and "harvesting" the fairies to destroy some keyboards. excellent entry!

accatosh 2023-01-13 20:11

Good work on the game! Love the graphics. The music is very good and suits the game. The gameplay is also engaging. The goal is clear and it is easy to understand how the game works. Though, it is very laggy on the web version.

squimmy 2023-01-14 11:00

This was pretty neat and I liked the little twist when you do the harvest. However, after the first harvest, the game didn't do anything to make me feel like it was building towards something (more progression, an ending, or anything else) so I didn't really feel compelled to keep playing after that. sorry!

substain 2023-01-14 11:39

Better than I first expected. the plot twist was great ;) something for easier harvesting wouldve been nice, maybe an upgrade for higher range etc.

hitchh1k3r 2023-01-14 19:51

I absolutely loved this game! The chill background music and cute and charming graphics really set the mood for an innocent fairy garden. Even though there was a bug where occasionally when clicking a button to buy something, it would instantly place it in the top left corner, it did not take away from my overall enjoyment of the game. I can understand why some players found the frantically clicking and moving the mouse around to be a bit painful and not necessary for the game (I think even if the berries were still placed manually, having fairies automatically placed would have been a nice addition). The frantic part of the game did not mesh well with the otherwise chill gameplay, but it was **the only part** that didn't fit well with the relaxed innocent feel of the game. Overall, great job on this game and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

PS. Does that say "**Flarvless** Harvest" FlarvlessHarvest.png

secrt101 2023-01-14 20:20

@hitchh1k3r Thank you for the kind words! It does say "Flawless Harvest", though with our font choice the "w" does not read very well. The font was a last minute addition that definitely could have used a bit more time in finding a more readable one!

vphyre 2023-01-14 21:30

A very relaxing and captivating game! I really liked the graphics and the sound too. I had a little trouble understanding how I was supposed to play at first, but then I managed to learn how to play. The end of the game is surprising haha.

Good work!

joror 2023-01-15 16:55

Great vibe and mood! The click-intensifying is real. A fun escalations of harvesting and then doing a push for the stated number. The graphics are also great, and got a good laugh about the harvestess and her blue smile

It got a bit too clicky in the end for me, but I liked it all up to then! Well done!

asfdfdfd 2023-01-16 18:11

I want those fairies at home...

sgtweirdo 2023-01-17 09:06

It's a really good play! The art and music lend to the gameplay, it was a pretty holistic experience, good twist at the end. I enjoyed this a lot! thank you!

tweekstudios 2023-01-17 14:12

I love the pixel graphics and the music is SO chill! The fairies are cute and the whole game is just adorable!

dry-squid 2023-01-18 04:37

Loved the dust! If only I could be that rich with dust after cleaning my apartment. ;-)

stone-pacifier 2023-01-18 04:37

I really enjoyed the music. Nice and relaxing universe.

entropea 2023-01-19 19:55

this was a lovely experience, thank you.

oleg20111511 2023-01-22 16:23

It's cute, and then it's brutal. I love it!

The gameplay offers a nice challenge, the more faires there are the harder it is to manage them.

I wish there was a more efficient way to collect dust from fairies, maybe a vacuum upgrade that allows to collect dust from all fairies within a certain radius from a click.

Also didn't quite understand how the harvest part worked, it seemed like I had no control over it.

dimesto52 2023-01-23 16:46

this game is hilarious

svemir 2023-01-24 02:33

Such beautiful mood and visuals! Really solid game, difficulty felt right and was fun to manage everything at once, especially with more fairies. I did find that when buying the fruit, it bugged a few times and didn't appear. The harvesting was a great surprise too haha!

kikiriki367 2023-01-25 18:04

God knows this is a reskin of Insaniquarium Deluxe from CapCom... God knows i lived on that game as a kid and played it too much... And of course god knows i did also love this game because of it! lol Sadly my APM is really slow at this point so i had to accept defeat at this point.... And also because at this point ill get carpal tunnel in about 15 minutes! xD

tunel.png

hayricakir 2023-01-26 19:17

Fun to play, nice looking chill game. Suddenly turns into the opposite direction when we harvest :D I liked your take on the theme! Good job! If you would like to shred some zombies in slowmo, be sure to check out my entry, I would love to hear your feedbacks!
