I loved the aesthetic of this one! Despite the description being super clear, I somehow missed the part about having to turn off the screen for the boss and kept losing... thought this game was impossible at first, haha.
Once I got the hang of it, I quite liked the flow of needing to rapidly click the close button when the boss was near! I do with that the gameplay moved faster, as it was a lot of idle waiting and no more than one order at a time. I played to 100 soul--maybe it eventually speeds up?
Game was pretty fun once i realised what i was doing! like @breadstick i do wish i could work on more than one order at once, but i do understand how that could be annoying in implement during the time for ludum dare.

Figure out how to play and overall great! Nice graphics and an unexpected boss who catches you)

Nice little entry! It took me time to figure outwhat to exactly do. It lacks some gameplay variations to be really fun but its a strong entry overall.
Cool game!

The game was fun to play. I think this is the kind of game that would work well to be expanded after the Ludum Dare. I think that the game was too difficult because the boss walked too fast and I wouldn't be able to turn off the monitor in time.
Also, I would also make sure the space bar worked consistently to turn off the monitor. Based on the loading screen it looks like you might be using Godot. I think that Godot will select a button after clicking it, unselect the button after clicking something else and press the button when space is pressed. This might be why space toggles the monitor but inconsistently. I ran into this issue for my submission.
Very hectic and fun! I burst out laughing at the boss running at me the first time it happened - so fun! Fits the theme very well, and I loved the little details, like the bloody/scorched footprints and the cool silhouettes of the monsters we were to summon. Great entry!

Hello everybody, thank you so much for the feedback and the kind words <3, we love to hear them
We are aware of the problems (except the space disabling the monitor, we didn't bind anything in the keyboard actually :V so this is new thank you) and we really want to fix them after the game jam, even upgrade the game in parts it lacks, we had so much ideas for the game at the time, but even me couldn't work properly (I had covid at that time so...yeag), sorry for responding after so long TwT
Yo! Neat response to the theme, I think. I like what I can figure out about the game world it's set in, but something a little more prescriptive about what's going on might help sell the thing a bit more. Why am I summoning...? Is my boss the devil? Why doesn't he like me summoning? It's definitely a cool setup, but I just needed a little more info for it to land for me.
I like how dynamic the job requests were, the boss added nice pressure (though I agree with comments about about the spacebar thing), and visuals were solid. Audio was solid too.
Overall I liked it, but would love to see what it could turn into with a little more time in the oven.
neat concept and having to hide what you are doing from the boss is a fun mechanic, but honestly the screen is really small for me to read what the text says. I don't know how hard it is to enable full screen in your game engine but it would be a nice touch. But nice job, sound effects and music were nice and the art was good.
Simple but nice concept. I had to restart a few times to understand what was actually happening. The game could have a little in game tutorial to help players determine what to do next. Good job overall!

Had quite some fun playing your game, I was halfway through the night when I forgot to turn off the screen while waiting for a request ><. The boss walk SFX definitely reminded me when I was late at night on the computer as a teenager and hearing some noise in the house x). Great work! Would definitely benefit from some polish and tweaking for a playthrough to not be so long ;).
Congrats for your entry!

It's an interesting concept overall, I like the gameplay loop, but kinda wish the orders would come in quicker overtime, since once you get the hang of which summons are the weak, medium and strong ones are, you can kinda just have a full inventory + another summon ready in the incubator, and you kinda just wait around for a long time.
Not bad at all, nice job!
