Hehe, `loremipsum` :) - Nice concept, however, I had to "zoom in" on the page on itch.io to play it. Consider enabling the button to play in fullscreen if the game supports it :)

@k4su Thanks for playing! Surprisingly, Firefox opens the game in an entirely new (sub)window, so my bad on not testing it via anything else. Fixed!

A really clever take on the theme. Starting with the few issues I noticed, a couple of the letters look really similar (G/C, O/Q) and in the last level I saw a T get cut off in the inner ring so it looked like an I. The menu button also was a little finicky with where I clicked. Otherwise it seems really solid.

A fun project, nicely done! (and thank you for the easy mode)

@darkwolf Thanks for playing! I'm working on adding a fallback/accessibility font, as this one, indeed, is not the best for a typing game.

UPD: published the version with added accessibility font toggle

I love the idea and its execution. As a suggestion for improvement, sometimes it's a bit difficult to understand the typography of certain letters. Great game, mate!

Good game with a great polish to it. Good entery ! Starting with loremipsolun briljant move did not have to read the tutorials.

@alezjl Thanks for playing! That's exactly why we've added the "accessible font" option in the main menu. Also some people mentioned the "main" font losing its thinnest bits (E turning into C, for one) in certain rotations, but Godot 4's font system is really weird so we couldn't force it to bold, sadly. @senso Glad to hear you liked it!

Super interesting game loop you got going on! I think anyone with a lot of keyboard experience, rather than just gaming will do well with this game. It's also nice having the easy mode and accessibility toggles in the game. Art and music have a charm to them as well. Good stuff!

Really interesting typing game! I was a little frustrated by the rhythm in the single ring levels, but it made sense when the next rings were introduced. Overall pretty well polished, nice job!

The vibe is there. I liked the audio and the designs of the demons and the UI. Accessible font, while less atmospheric, was very helpful. I think it would be worth experimenting with making the gameplay more dynamic. Perhaps adding some time pressure or even making it QTE based sort of in the style of "The Typing of the Dead". Then again, solid atmosphere building, and a good level of polish.

This was a really good entry! I'm glad you had an accessible font (I didn't try it though) because some of those were frustrating (Q and O particularly). The single ring levels left me a little frustrated because at times it felt like I was typing faster than it could keep up. The two ring levels were a bit much at times because it required some awkward hand positions from normal typing (or looking at the keyboard). Overall I think this could be a fun typing game if you kept going on it! Keep on making games

Thanks for playing, everyone!

@gabrimer Thanks for having me on your stream, seeing others play our games always makes me glad we're making 'em!

@adam-gallina Our main gripe - as always - is balancing the levels. Thinking about it now, we should've made the single-ring levels rotate quicker, probably - but that's one of those good ideas that come too late

@pauldee427 We've considered making it a rhythm game, but doing three circles actually felt challenging as is, so we didn't go that route. In terms of what we do have, I personally feel an easier "time pressure" mechanic would be simply adding leaderboards - but all we managed is the local score system, and it doesn't seem anyone's willing to share their scores as of yet...

@frozenfire92 Thanks for the kind words! For the record, there are three-ring levels as well, starting around level 13. And that's where it starts taking actual time for every input, thus turning into quite a different experience (my own "perfect" runs of some of the later levels took around 200 seconds, I think)

Wow. Where are this games ratings? There is such simplicity in here, with a touch of great art as the reward for each level. The loop and mechanic is very scoped and tuned, plays smoothly, and anticipates how a mistake should feel. Then when it starts to play with itself and double the mechanic up, things get really exciting. Very good work.

Beautiful audio and visual design! I loved the summoning animations - very atmospheric entry altogether.

frankiesmileshow 2024-05-02 23:27

Nice! The double wheels were a nice surprise especially! the characters were sometimes hard to read because of the font scaled down, or sometimes because the green guide lines partially overlapped it. Also, fun demon designs. Give them funny names when theyre summoned too, maybe procgen names?

lildyll 2024-05-02 23:47

Super cool! It felt very good to play except for maybe one or two times the timing was off, but I think that also had to do with me lol. Also good on you for adding accessibility options as i know that can be challenging in a game jam.
