Confusing at first, but once I got a hang of things, the game turned into a fun experience where the player has to think about depth, and water physics
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Delay the Flood

Could have used a bit more explanation in the game as to what was going on! But I really thought that this fit the theme well. Really felt like I was fighting an uphill battle against an inevitable end.
So I'm supposed to let the beacons flood? I thought I defended them pretty well here but I ended up losing

Unexpected but your game idea was sooooo good ! The first level felt a bit weird, because you didn't need to do a lot of things to win, but I guess it was just to introduce the main mechanic to the player. The game felt so fun to play, I lost on some puzzles but at least with that level of simplicity it was very clear what went wrong with my terraforming. Also the levels were pretty nice and had a good design.
The game looks nice, the colors are good and clearly indicate heights ( I'll just note that it was a bit confusing at the start because brown and red are usually used to indicate high points on a map ). One minor problem of this game is the lack of sounds, just a little sound effect for the wheels rotating, or a win sound of some sort could have made this game even better.
In conclusion, excellent entry !
despite the other comments, I understood what was going on right away. I think that was due to also being a big creeper world fan myself though. I quite enjoyed the game and I think the level design did a really god job of showing off what the mechanics excelled at.
A bit hard to understand if I was doing the right thing, but eventually got it after a couple of stages. The variations were near, and well designed, but completing the levels took way too long, so that amount of content was not really welcome.
Loved the aesthetic.
Very interesting "Populous" kind of game. After few levels it got too challenging for me, but pretty nice game made in 72 hours!
Awesome idea. I like the simple, clean implementation. :-) It was so much fun, i kept playing and playing. It's very motivating to just try one more time. Very well done!
@cornfab yes, the beacons need to get flooded to activate. So the challenge is to flood the beacons without flooding the colony core.
I really like te concept! Had fun playing the first few levels, and suits the theme pretty well too. A bit confusing at the beginning though
Cool
my game was at one point going to be very much like this, so it is kind of cool to see how it would have played if I went that way.
Took me a minute to realize that the beacons need to be flooded :D. Also found around 3rd level that you can hover over while the mouse button is pressed to pick up/put down soil and don't really need to be clicking like a maniac :D. Other than that, I had quite a fun playing this. Good Job!
Simple game with a nice twist, I like it. Maybe it could be a bit nicer to have bigger "stack" of sand, but it should pick up a little bit slower. Now its a bit too much of a race game. Though I played for solid 15 minutes;)
Idea is interesting and nice correspond to theme. It will be nice if gameplay could be faster :)
Interesting concept. I think something about the 5-soil limit could be improved, but I don't have any great ideas. It just doesn't *feel* all that great, if that makes sense? I guess removing the limit entirely might be too easy? The only other thing is perhaps a way to speed up time once you think you have the puzzle solved would be good (I'm thinking about the second level here). Good job with the tutorial on the second level, that hint was nice and is good to do in the introduction stage of the game.
Great idea. I with they told me on 1st map how to play...
Loved the concept but i think the game still has room for polishing :) First off, i didn't really notice the indicator for the amount of soil stacked (but that's kinda on me 😅) Secondly, maybe you can add a speed up button so we won't be just idling Lastly, i think you should have included the tutorial at the start, was furiously clicking to understand what's going on XD
Didn't really get what to do unfortunately.
The top view makes it hard to predict, when the water is going to reach next floor. Otherwise it definitely has the Creeper World vibe (not a bad thing in my eyes!). I would also consider adjusting the amount of land you can carry or add in-between terrain levels to soften the flow of the game.

I am really intruiged by the mechanics but I'm afraid it was very hard to get into this game. I couldn't really figure out what to do in level 2. I also didn't like the extreme clickiness of the game.
