Awesome retro vibe and pixels! Thumbs up!

ilseroth 2016-08-29 13:14

Felt kind of awkward to play, but overall solid execution.

lordvorath 2016-08-29 13:23

More like an action-puzzle game of sorts, maybe a bit too easy/short but enjoyed it quite a lot.

philstrahl 2016-08-29 13:26

Once I adjusted to the controls and was able to nail jumps it was really a fun experience and a lot better than much of the "puzzle-platform" cash-grabs on GameBoy. Also, very good level design where I had some Eureka-moments. Overall a great entry. Excellent!

Very interesting concept! Nice retro graphics and good gameplay. Needed a few tries to figure out how to jump over holes but it was fun!

I love the gameboy art style. The mechanics were interesting, I wouldn't mind trying something like this out myself. Good job :)

This game is actually amazing. I'm only on my third game of this Ludum Dare, yet I'm already confident that this will be my pick of the lot. I'm just in love with the concept. I love how you've broken down the platformer to make it a puzzle about positioning. I love how I have to ration out each finite movement in order to get around enemies. I love how that same motif of rationing is carried over to the finite bullet mechanic, and I love how the level designs trick me into wasting my bullets on the wrong enemies. I love how the game tracks how many moves I take, providing an incentive to replay and optimize my movements further. If you developed this game fully and put it on steam, you'd have your first paying customer right here.

Great idea! The one bullet idea is also a cool one. Because it's turn-based, I feel like the levels could have been a lot harder, taking advantage of the fact that you can precisely count everything, and trying to trap the player into needing to jump when they're in mid-air.

aroscillo 2016-08-29 19:56

I think I get what your were going for here. I the controls were crunchy but I think that's what you wanted. Lol like Atari ancient tech. lol

chrisostome 2016-08-29 20:52

Cool concept ! Controls might be a bit awkward at first, I wished the character would no take a step, every time I try to make him turn left or right with arrows. I fell a lot from edges because I did not have the reflex to use A and D.

But I really liked the feeling with the jump mechanic.

qogqog 2016-08-29 21:20

Cool concept. The jumping mechanic took a bit to get used to--anticipating how high I would actually jump each step of the jump was difficult--but overall worked well.

blinry 2016-08-29 22:48

Wow! A round-based puzzle platformer! I've never seen this concept before! I'm not really sure how it relates to the theme, but I dig this game! Maybe I'd like an undo function. Fitting sound effects, great job! I also really liked the level progression, teaching you the mechanics at exactly the right pace. One of my favorite games so far! Thanks for making it! :)

I had a laugh about "High score: NaN" ;-)

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Hahaha cool idea and neat execution. Player can quickly grasp the idea behind the game and enjoy playing. Levels are well designed presenting various challenges. I also like your choice of graphic style. Overall good game with very innovative gameplay mechanic.
