Quite addictive :)
Pleasant game and quite addictive! Nice graphics and mood. Maybe some cards must be limited (it's really easy if you have many steal cards)
(in small screen(like mine) you can't see the play button (I have to go full screen to see it), and I can't change difficulty (regardless of what I choose, it stay at "pleasant" and console say "Saved settings: Object { musicEnabled: true, level: 4 }")...
@dunin Sorry about small screens! As a workaround, you should be able to zoom out, which will make everything smaller. The difficulty level setting seems like a bug, which browser are you using?
firefox quantum 57.0.1 (win 64)
god this is awesome :o (but the AI is too strong for me :'( )
@thomas-lean Try the "Little baby" AI level ;)
Woah, really loved this one. It's like the card games of some JRPG like Final Fantasy. I'll keep playing, this AI needs to know its place lol.
ahh the zooming out helped. Great game.
The mechanics sure need some getting used to but after five losses I finally got the grasp of it and defeated the AI :D
I can see myself playing this game, really great job!
Incredible, this is a really cool game! Once I figured out the mechanics, it got really addicting and I would love to see this with more cards!
Nice game, the design is nice and effective. However I would have liked a tutorial, because I had some hard time understanding the rules.
Good job! :)
Very good game, works well, hard to understand at first, but it's very addictive.
Great job!
I built card games in the past, amazing what you did in the limited time available. Overlapping cards also works flawlessly, good job
Wow, what a great game! Quite impressive. It took some time to understand but I really like it!
Quite cool, initially i had some trouble to get a hang of all the cards, and the drag area for the cards could/should encompass all of it and not just the top 50%.
Otherwise great job.
Ok, so when you start to get it, it gets very good! A tablet version is in order... and a full length tutorial too :D
I'm sorry. This is beautiful, but I find it completely incomprehensible how cards are triggered.
Great game! The only problem i had with it was with browser scaling and ui, i had to rescale my browser zoom to 90% to play it, otherwise very great entry!
Takes a little time to understand the rules, but feels really good when you get them! Love the mood!
Cool concept. Makes me think of Final Fantasy Card Games :) Keep it up!
Almost a 5 on 5 rating. Simple but effective. The AI does its job. The music is great. I had fun playing a few games. Well done, for real.
Extremly well done game, loved the theme linked card game concept. A better tutorial would be nice to fully understand the game without losing 5 times, which is a bit frustrating.
Besides that, it's nearly perfect !
Really nice game but when your browser is to small you can't see the play button ;)
I had seen gifs on twitter and decided to give it a try. Really liked the game, it's super fun, good work! :-)
Some notes on it:
- As others said, you need to zoom out to choose difficulty on smaller screens.
- I like that each player gets different cards, but it's too hard to balance a game like that. The priest is the best card (cause destroying cards or stealing an already-placed priest isn't as effective), so having more priests than the other is already a great leverage, maybe at least both players should have the same amount of priests.
- AI works great and the customization is highly appreaciated.
- Would love to play this on local multiplayer (if this is already available I missed it). AI is great but, once you find a working strategy, it's usually easy to repeat it; something that wouldn't happen as often with another human player.
- Really cool card design that fits the game.
- Overall amazing game, played 4-5 rounds and I'll be coming back to it later.
After understanding the mechanism of the monk and the archers, it became quite addictive! Loved the artwork!
Everything about this game is awesome! The mood, graphics, music, gameplay, EVERYTHING! Great job!
A very well polished game. The music was very peaceful and was likely the reason why I didn't rage at the AI. The rules did take a little bit of time to get used to but I eventually schooled the AI! I would prefer to be able to grab/inspect the card by mousing over any part of it (rather than just the top half).
Fun game, and great mood! Play flowed well, but I feel like I never really got a full 100% understanding of the mechanics (a visual tutorial might be helpful, although I'm not one to talk given my game's mechanics).
Very addictive ! Nice Job !
Nice game, addictive ! Take me few time to undestand some cards ^^.
I like graphics, sound and mechanics. Very polish entry, great job !
Nice game ! I really like the graphics and the sound ! I took some time to understand what I had to do, and I still have a little trouble with the cards but I will persevere!
Nice Work !
Congrats on the awesome game! It's really entertaining and challenging!
a little bit confusing, but once i lost a couple times i saw how complex and interesting the game is, also it's really addictive
Great game! I loved it.
Great work, very smooth. I'm not very good though so I'll play some more to figure out some strategy.
The music is just terrific, the mood of the game and the graphics is flawless.
However mechanically it definitely takes some time to figure out what card actually does what, admittedly I'm rather poor at card games.. :D (+1 local multiplayer for something like this would be ace)
Will be playing a few more rounds to get some insight into the rules!
I’ve been playing for 25 minutes XD The art is great, the sound design really suits the game, and more importantly it is very fun. A little frustrating as I didn’t understand a few core concepts, and kept losing by a move the AI did, that I thought was illegal. Very very fun, congratulations ;D
Awesome job, guys! Everything is great in this entry, the art, the music and how polished the card mechanics was. I loved playing it! The randomness sometimes got on my nerves, but overall it was amazingly fun to play. Try to tweak it a little bit more, work on presentation and ship to the mobile market. I would love to play this on my phone. It is so good that and sent it to my friends (non devs).
Nice art and theme - but really good work on comming up with the game mechanics.
The game really is quite clever, but this game missing local multiplayer seems like an really obvious oversight?
Also 32 second AI turns are a slog!
damn, i am not smart enough to play this game. couldn't figure out what the marksman was supposed to do when he/she didn't do what i thought it would do... until i watched a video where the priest is put onto the marksman to recolour the whole row.. oh my god. i am so dumb.. wow.
definitely great look, plays well, card sounds are cool and music fits, too.
Jeez. this one is incredible. I love the card designs, they're clean and easily communicate the functions, along with being beautifully executed. The gameplay is fun and quick and very addictive. Awesome job. I'd love to see this as a physical card game, it'd probably be a hit. Really fits well with the theme too. Great job!
That's pretty impressive that you guys made a card game for the jam especially because card games require a lot of balancing. It runs pretty smoothly too and looks well polished. But like all card games, there's a learning curve. Aside from that, great job!
This can totally work as a real tabletop card game!
Okay, this rules, the music's lovely, would love to have a local multiplayer mode :D
Really enjoyed it. Could totally be developed into a full project. Had some issues running it on the latest version of Firefox. Works great in chrome though.
Interesting game - I wish the cards were a little more clear, but it's still a nice entry! Good job.
after i got the general idea i could not stop playing, quick and fun
Awesome game, nice visuals, had trouble at first though
Nice game, good job ! And great graphics too ! :D
The UI is nicely implemented with appropriate visual cues, the background music is fitting and the gameplay challenging and rewarding. All around a well executed game! If only I could play against a human instead of this infernal AI ...
Pleasant game and quite addictive
Really neat idea for a strategy game. A way to vs other people would be nice, but the AI was actually really good, especially considering that it was made in 72 hours. Other than that, the visuals were fantastic and the music fit perfectly. Great job!
I was excited to play this when I saw your post on Twitter. It did not disappoint. The gameplay is fantastic. I love the aesthetic and mood. Well done!
Took a while to figure out how to "activate" cards like Marksman. Reallyyyy awesome design once I got a handle on that, lots of strategies started popping up in my head. Impressive for how few card types there are. Controls and animations and sound was all great too.
Very interesting game. It would be greatly improved with a bit of tutorial at the beginning because it's a bit confusing but the aesthetics, music and mechanics are really nice.
A really polished game, well put together, well oiled.
The game however is really hard to wrap your head around - I play a lot of tabletop games, and I like the mechanics and ideas in here, but it's difficult to understand. The "aoe" cards require "activation", but it's not clear how activation works. Like, only "blow up" works with activation? Or does stealing do that? Killing? I'm not quite sure. I think I got it but it's hard to parse.
Don't really like that the two sides can have different cards, sometimes the setup makes for a bad game, but sometimes with the same cards it gets boring. I'm not sure how to mitigate the luck thing without pre-designed setups.
I feel like the last turn has a massive advantage. Not sure how to mitigate that.
Overall great game! I'd love to see it physically, but I guess it gets too fiddly :)
Smart game and beautiful art. At the beginning it's difficult to understand, but 2 o 3 matches later it's very funny :)
Very unique and cool mechanics, but it could have been better explained. Overall very nice game though. Good job
If you've played the game before and had issues on Firefox or Edge, please try it again! I fixed some compatibility and performance issues (without changing the gameplay at all).
Thanks all for the feedback so far, it's very much appreciated :)
I played the game on Firefox and works fine. Nice entry!
really cool game. it' difficult to beat the AI
Works!
I'm proud ta have beaten the necromancer on the first try,
but playing against him remind me "the chess player" by Zweig...
look at this last move: 32s to choose, really?

Man.. That AI is fabulous, and the game itself is genius ! Music is cool and fits the game pretty well. I'm not a fan of card games but I had to beat the AI only once ! I figured out that one of the best way to win is to steal the priests and try to keep them until the end :) Nice work !
This is pretty nice :)
Way cool. It definitely took a little while to get the hang of it.
I will bookmark this and play it forever.
Well done ! I want to play against a friend with real cards !
I've just fixed a glitch that made the AI 100x dumber than it used to be (in an attempt to make the UI smoother). So if you thought it was too easy well, I have good news and bad news...
Such a concept , made a card's game with this theme it's really brilliant.
It's a great job to invent and implement a new card game in such short span!
Incredible game, love everything about it. Just a little too hard for me even at the "peasant" difficulty
This concept is way cleverer than I am as a person, which is why I got destroyed by the peasant AI. Beautiful atmosphere, simple and elegant, a great entry !
I tried 3 times to get the idea of the game. nicely done!
Awesome game! Really liked it. :D
Very nice and solid entry
Great job on the game! The difficulty made it addictive to play again until I won at least ones.
Unfortunately, I didn't understand how to play the game as it was too complex for me and the tutorial was too hard for me. I wish the learning curve of the game wasn't so difficult. The aesthetic of the graphics of the game was decent. The music of the game was decent as it was alright and it was not too repetitive like other Ludum Dare games. I did like the sound effects and I also liked the mood that the audio and aesthetics of graphics provided. Finally, I enjoyed the polish of the game. I liked the way the cards moved onto the table and off the table. I also liked the UI and thought it was fancy.
Where I can buy these cards? If you don't plan to make real cards please give some info how many of which cards is in deck, I would like to play this game with some friends. Although it would be nice if you make some real cards for sell, so that people can buy them and give some support. Best regards.
