i dont know if this is intentional or not but i think i finished the game Capture3.PNG

Woah that started to get really intense, amazing puzzle designs, especially when they start branching off and coming back. Really impressive.

poroporo-su 2021-04-26 11:26

I loved it! It's very smart and works well! I couldn't finish it tho (I got stuck trying to get a key in 12 I think) but i'll try again

Nice game. It was great that no tutorial was necessary and everything was clear.

icylava 2021-04-26 13:41

Thank you all for playing and commenting! @leviathon yes, that's "intentional", or rather I didn't have time left to implement any ending scene, so I just left it thinking that maybe no one will even reach the end :)

The concept of having the levels nest inside each other like that was really interesting, but I found it confusing to keep track of which levels were where as the nesting got more complicated. The core mechanics were super solid though, I liked how more complicated puzzles could emerge from the simple rules. Also loved your music!

level Design skils = god tier ! ty for the game!

Nice puzzle game, the mechanics are simple and the levels expertly crafted. Loved it!

My, this game messes with the brain HARD. But the escape at the end is crazy satisfying!

Getting lost to the wonderful music was great, but it does lack a map of sorts, like in the form of a tree graph.

Other than that, it screams genius all over it.

bauke-regnerus 2021-05-01 11:49

The simple graphics and the music really come together in this very pleasant puzzle game. The sliding around is satisfying by itself, but the level design is also spot on. It's also easy to pick up. Had a great time plating this game, thanks!

Pretty interesting idea! I really liked the direction of exit mechanic combined with the game, and it is very well used in the game. The levels were pretty easy, even slightly repetitive, but it is clearly a minor thing given that you had to design that meny for the metapuzzle. The main problem with the mechanics is the visualization when there are several layers involved, is hard to keep track of where the locks are, so I had to revisit a lot of rooms in order to see where I could progress, but not sure at all how to fix this (some sort of map? Display some information of the previous room or subsequent? Hard to say). The music sounds very nice, but I think it doesn't suit very well the puzzle mood. Art was simplistic but clean, and movement feels pretty nice. Very fun to play, congratulations!

At first I was a little confused on the mechanics but once I understood it, wow it all slid (like the main mechanic of the game haha) into place.

I think you did such a unique take on the theme, and that the concept of going deeper and deeper into the world, and then back, and then back into it being deeper, then back out but in a new way and thinking about exactly what direction you left a sublayer to an upper layer made it a real interesting puzzle sliding game.

I think this has a real strong base to be ported to mobile with swipe functionality, or just released as is on the switch as a groovy short puzzle game.

The only thing I would work more on/or include is a longer or perhaps dynamic musical track that could perhaps add layers/and instruments the further you go into the world. Actually saying that, perhaps it could do the opposite and the further you go in, the less instruments and it gets a bit quieter, and then the ending scene of you escaping/getting to the top layer could be a full layered song. I think that would be nice.

Oh and another perhaps thing to work on is it was a little tricky sometimes to remember what key went where so it did involve some backtracking but I'm not exactly sure on how to fix that. But it did get easier the more I went on and I think you did a good job of flipperising the layers of the keys to the floors, so top floor is Z key and bottom is A key and such. That was good.

Either way stunningly polished game that had very satisfying movement and puzzles and I am always amazed at single person teams. To do this in 48 hours is incredible and you did a fantastic job.

Great stuff and look forward to what you work on in the future =].

Great game! You really have to twist your brain to get your mind around this one. The music is nice and hypnotic.

kaminos 2021-05-01 17:52

wow! the concept is great.. i love how this puzzle works. It's something i would play for sure as a finished puzzle game. I' have to mention for the record that I had problem with the graphics.. after a while i became disoriented and i couldn't understand where i should go and i was going back and forth through lvls.. maybe I'm stupid i dont know. That's a minor of course and easily fixable. Also the ctrls and movement are just perfect. What a solid game and idea. Well done Icylava!

Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for playtesting! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1008703438

I really like the idea behind this puzzle, but I got lost and couldn't figure out how to complete it. I'm pretty bad at puzzle games on the whole, and I was trying to play the game while streaming, so it's possible that splitting my attention was the reason I couldn't remember where everything was, so I'm not reducing my score because of my shortcomings.
