LD42 — Running out of space

Overwrite by stevenjmiller 2018-08-16T01:21:21Z

I gotta say really great mechanic! like really great! Not being able to place photos on top of each other felt a little limiting, but I still enjoyed myself and tried to beat the whole. I had to give up one of the levels toward the end though, nothing I tried worked and it was driving me crazy. Anyways great job and thank you!

Reasonable Claustrophobia by SkullPixel 2018-08-15T00:01:55Z

I really liked the look of your game I had a fun time playing it to. I had a harder time with the dodge so I kind of wish it was a crouch, and/or I wish player bullets could destroy enemy bullets. I liked trying to balance how many shots i fired to avoid blocking my path. Thank you!

Scaling Up by dalbinblue 2018-08-15T00:58:13Z

First off, big props on that humor, spot on! The skeleton and ghosts had some real winners. I got a score of 137000 on my second play through thanks to the price evaluation perk, which turns the game into "get the biggest number." But i genuinely had a fun time! I just wish the ui was done a little differently, I did enjoy the style of everything, but found it hard to remember what everybody was selling, or what exactly i had. This made it difficult to make any plans for who I was going to sell what to. Overall I had a good time, thank you! p.s. nice touch with how the kobolds treat dragons ;)

No disk space by rayriver 2018-08-15T14:25:30Z

Great horror game and great use of theme! I only wish I had more freedom over how I could try and solve the problem, but I understand why it is this way, so it is no problem. The constant need for new software was pretty funny too. Thank you!

The Not Very Golden Age of Piracy by nuclearfriend 2018-08-15T15:17:29Z

I enjoyed playing, I tried hard to get past the 5th ship! Trying to balance the repairs with firing was a challenge. Thank you!

BLOCKADE by PixelJerry 2018-08-15T19:39:41Z

I had fun and I really enjoyed your mechanic! I felt like it was a little difficult to move around exactly to the spot you wanted to be, and I found myself standing still until I got just the right colors to sync up. But other than that I enjoyed myself, and played it several times. Maybe add a button that insta-places your block for extra points? Good job and thank you!

Artemisa by Alexei Jilinskiy 2018-08-14T00:22:07Z

That was pretty innovative! I enjoyed trying to beat it. I just wish the turning speed was higher, to help make getting around and aiming more reliable, then I think I would enjoy it even more. Thank you.

SuperTHICC by huskitch 2018-08-15T03:22:29Z

I enjoyed the game, but movement was strange, I'd keep moving even when I was pressing buttons, and getting stuck drinking soda made it difficult to get away from enemies. But the "time only moves when you move" worked well. Thank you!

Clearly a good game. The option between a hop and a jump was a clever inclusion in a game like this, but I felt like it to often lead to unfortunate deaths. I think the falling platforms would be better off not being time driven just to give newer players time to think through their turns, in part so they don't make any hop or jump mistakes. But overall the game communicates it's rules and mechanics well. Good job and thank you!

The Crushing Wall by m.dam 2018-08-17T22:08:38Z

Interesting idea! I didn't really know what to do. Some of the button didn't work, and one time the wall randomly started moving really fast, and killed me. My computer wasn't able to render the game with out seriously low frame rate. And yet, I still enjoyed playing this game. Thank you!

Overflow by antoined73 2018-08-15T01:37:23Z

I enjoyed the basic concept of the game, I was stuck on level 3, no matter how perfect i tried to get both people to the boat I just wasn't fast enough, I was about to give up but then I realized I can put people on land too. the boat controls well in big open spaces but not so well when you have it smashed up against an island or the raft. I had fun playing it, thank you!

Cubiqum by Arqcenick 2018-08-17T22:16:07Z

The game looked good and I think with some work and maybe cool perspective tricks it could be really fun! The game wouldn't progress past level 2, so maybe I did something wrong? I had fun trying it out though, good job for only 10 hours. Thank you!

Hiding Spot by toboggan 2018-08-15T03:57:56Z

A clever idea and I enjoyed playing it! much like some other people on here I got stuck on lvl 3. Maybe I missed something about the rules... Wait I went back and finished. I wished I knew holding space kept me facing the same direction. I think lvl 4 or 5 might work better before lvl 3 just to teach the spacebar thing. But other than that I enjoyed your concept and playing the game! Thank you!

Hiding Spot by toboggan 2018-08-15T13:55:05Z

@toboggan Oh yeah you are right, sorry I got my order of things all mixed up, thank you again!

The Last Floe by LeoRototo 2018-08-15T02:25:25Z

It was funny, and I had a good time! It started to feel a little tedious after the first 3 couples but I still had a good time. Thank you!

Oniria Times by 0nironauta 2018-08-17T17:02:27Z

I had fun playing it, the tuna ending was especially funny. I had a hard time understanding what to publish to effect my reputation, but the "match the center column" bonus was an interesting inclusion that made it a little easier to figure out what to pick. Good job with an interesting idea, thank you!

Crushed by Rusty Bailey 2018-08-17T17:15:54Z

it is a cool mechanic, and the game started off really strong. level 3 was difficult to do because of how easily the block grew away from me. I think the game would benefit from the blocks only growing when you're on top of them. The char was a little hard to control at times. But over all a strong foundation and I enjoyed playing it. Thank you!

BOX IT! by Laminariy 2018-08-17T22:21:57Z

I could feel the love you put into your game. I like the base concept, but maybe the game would flow better if players were trying to fill up their own space, and place bombs on their opponents space. The AI was pretty hard, and I had to carefully place a box down or it wouldn't count! Anyways, I'm pretty happy with it though, good job. Thank you!
