Just played your game and totally loved it. It took me 3 tries to beat it but really enjoyed every bit of that.

Thanks a lot! We'll try to update it to add more levels. (i don't know if you have noticed, but the music on the title screen is something like 8 minutes long)
Ok that was opressive, made it on my second attempt! At first try the mapping was insane. Not sure if I accidentally changed it but found myself with my fingers entangled all around, lucklily the game allows for re-mapping.
After the chaos the game was super feasable! Nice entry :D
Thanks @manusaiz Maybe it was in azerty and not qwerty? I'm pretty sure I've changed it before uploading, but I may have made an error. Sorry!
Godot :), very difficult game. Loving the art though!
That game was amazing. Maybe change the default input mapping, because that one was mad. But still, the game is good. Great graphics and unique gameplay. Maybe add an option for the sensitivity of the mouse. But still. Good stuff you got there.
The input was a little wonky, for instance z was forward rather than w, but other than that it is was a good game. I enjoyed the cool retro style of the game!
The mapping issue should be resolved. Thanks @tinynerd & @ryan-wickman
Simple and weird in a good way, really enjoyed the experience.
Nice colours!
Thank you for the Linux version. From what I've seen it seems to be a really fun game, but when I start it, it say [Esc] to skip, then black for half a second and then it show the game over message.
Sorry @neuralcoder Maybe your computer is a little slow and it does not have the time to load the assets before you hurt something ?
Try to go forward during the black screen, it may save you during the loading? I'm sorry.
@chocolat-endive I'll try it later again. But I really like the concept and the gif's I've seen. When nothing helps, I'll have to slowdown the internal clock of the game.
This universe has very dangerous planets... :squid:
beautiful graphics, great use of theme!
I liked the retro feel :)
Loved the game :) just to short :/
ohhhh running out of space! also I'm not sure why but I've always loved 3d object's rendered at low resolution like this. Great looking game and interesting concept! Great aesthetic and I beat it 3 times just because.
Nice. Love the looks. The bigger the pixels, the better. The sounds were also quite interesting.
Like others said I wish the levels were not random. Some of them are just impossible to beat.
Glad to see another entry made with Godot :gorilla:
Managed to beat it! Cool little game, live streamed playing it on twitch will link up in a bit, good fit for the theme, and I liked the audio is it somehow generative?? It seemed sort of random like it was generative and not a theme song looping
I love the '90s feel this has. Speaking of feel, this game actually made me feel claustrophobic and just slightly panicky; seriously, well done there, guys! Your music was highly effective in reinforcing the atmosphere, as well. Nice work!
@samueldeboni yeah it's to short. We'll try to add more levels with different moods.
@superqgs @stateoff Big pixels are cool! We're pretty happy with the resolution too. :-) Thanks! (and Godot is super cool)
@drnoir the audio is not generative, I made a long (5 minutes I think) abstract piece for the level, and a another long one (8 minutes) for the menu. Thanks for streaming! (do you have a link for your twitch channel ?)
@holdmeimscared Thanks! I'm happy you've enjoyed the "claustrobic feel" of the game.
Here, I have same problem w/ @neuralcoder. After I hit Esc on game start, I get just game over screen just after the black screen. I can barely see that some large amount of sphere is expanding very quickly! Can you check this issue? I think my computer isn't slow enough to play the game(GTX 1060 6GB + Ryzen 1600). I loved the theme and sound effects, and mood! I think this is a good game enough to receive good ratings.
Thanks @r3c0d3r we're going to check what is the problem, I'll tell you and @neuralcoder when the issue is resolved. Sorry!
The game is really fun to play, I love the pixelated graphics. If I could change something, I would make it into an endless game, so players could beat their best time and I would make the game super slow when player is not moving (sort of like in Superhot) so I could plan in which direction I want to head next.
@rahmkota3 We're indeed thinking about making a longer/slower/more contemplative level in the future. Thanks for the feedback.
Really cool game! Everything came together really well, and everything was aesthetically pleasing (which, coincidentally, the first two notes of your title screen music sound exactly like that one vapourwave song). The only thing I could recommend is to add a mouse sensitivity option somewhere... since this is a fairly short game, it could even be mapped to the scroll wheel for on-the-fly changes.
Also: 13 minutes of music for a 3 minute game?
@niterich we wanted to implement a slider for mouse sensivity, but we did'nt have enought time and we were pretty tired. That's a thing we'll add later! The mouse wheel is a good idea, thanks.
For the music, it's because I improvised it, so I did'nt look at the duration. It's a little too long, I agree!
Very trippy game, which I assume was the point. Great experience, however I had no idea what's the goal of the game. Maybe it would be cool to have like one specific place to arrive or something. Other than that it was really cool and well executed. I love the old school 3D graphics.
This was so simple, and I think that's part of why I loved it so much. A lot of attention seems to have been put on the atmosphere with the graphics and audio, and it really sold the game for me. Great entry, glad I got a chance to play it.
@chocolat-endive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQWieHbyFmQ the vid is here, you are first game streamed :)
Thanks a lot @drnoir I see Debord, Emma Goldman, Tristan Tzara and Nietzsche (and 2001) on your desktop, we share some reading tastes.
Love the concept and art style
loved the style, nice little jam game!
hoooo yes!
Juste yes.
(and I think my compo is a sorte of 2d version of your game)
That's a nice game, graphics and audio are nice (audio is a bit trippy though ).
This game is really cool! Loved the quirky art as well!
The loading seems to long for me, I instantly die. It's very frustrating cause the game looked very great.
That's some awesome graphics! However I didn't like the audio. The difficulty is right. I would try different difficulty levels.
Sorry @miracl you seems to have the same problem than @neuralcoder We'll investigate to make the game check that everything is loaded before starting the level timer. Sorry! I'll tell you when it's fixed.
Really liked this game!! The sound effect are really cool I was hyped when I saw what instrument you used =) The grahics are nice and I had some really tense and good moments while escaping!
Congratulations, your game is gorgeous and the soundtrack is amazing! How did you do the soundtrack, is it procedural?
Thanks for this amazing interactive audiovisual experience, my first 5 star this LD!
Thanks @ghust1995 For the main menu, I made a pattern on the volca keys and another one on nanoloop mono, and I improvised with effects and the volca fm for the melody. The music of the level is a 5 minute improvisation on the volca keys. The music of the "win screen" is made with nanoloop mono (it is not really good, but I was tired). I love synths!
Oh gosh! This game was really short but you won so many points so fast! - Godot Engine :heavy_check_mark: - Pixelated look :heavy_check_mark: - Crazy audio :heavy_check_mark: (Pierre Henry much?) - Rebindable controls :heavy_check_mark: (seriously?) - SPACE :heavy_check_mark: - Hyperspace effect :heavy_check_mark:
I'm in awe, that was a really great find, I can't wait to see what you'll do next time :)
@lucien-catonnet Thanks a lot! (And I love Pierre Henry!)
The interesting visuals combined with the surreal audio make a really good combination and i freatly enjoyed the tries i needed until i was finally able to get out. Controls are really smooth too.
Played it on a Mac and the W and A button didn't work for me, so it was unplayable.
BUT I watched a stream of @nufflee playing it and it looked really cool! So I rated it based on that and not my buggy experience on the untested mac version.
Well done!
Interesting game, really reminded me of No Man's Sky! Interesting mechanic and really atmospheric!
Sorry @boopsgames I'll upload a qwerty version for mac soon. You can change the keybinds in the option menu.
Very interesting! It was simple, but had an interesting combination of visuals and audio and the mechanics made it fun to play. It didn't last very long as there was only one level, but it was enjoyable for that one level. Maybe make an endless mode where you have a timer and it progressively gets harder and harder while you try to last as long as possible?
@swiftpotato We plan to add some levels, and some longer/contemplative ones. I'm glad you liked the game! Thank you!
It's like being drunk and high at the same time. I love it!
Great atmospheric mood, awesome aesthetics, would love to see some polish and morte levels ! awesome :)
It's a nice mechanic but playing with a touch pad wasn't a good idea of mine ;) The sound sets a nice atmosphere but I can imagine getting annoyed by it when I play it longer.
@shakedimus playing with a touchpad seems hard! Yeah, if we add some new levels to the game, we'll add different music too. Thanks for your review. :-)
I liked the style and the retro graphics, especially the pixel camera, really cool. Really reminded me of Descent. It was tough. I think I'd like it a lot more if I could survive for longer!
gameplay at around 17:30 - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/298139021## (I was playing it without recording, derp!)
Interesting use of theme. I really liked the pixel-ey graphics. Pretty easy but that didn't stop it from being fun! I also really enjoyed the music, it was strange but cool.
Very nice music! The idea is cool but it's a little short (less than a minute) or maybe I did something wrong? Anyway nice entry!
Really nice entry!! Smooth and easy to control, with funny sounds, and kudos for providing a GNU/Linux version! Also, kudos for the 6-DOF controls (also done that in my LD42 game, and it took me some tries to get it right ;-)) The ending animation was also welcome ; after 2-3 tries, it felt rewarding!
This is a short and enjoyable experience. I was about to comment that some kind of distance counter would've been nice when I reached the end of the universe and survived.
Nice game!
