Like your game dude Good graphics
the graphics and atmosphere are gorgeous!
@elsombrero @creepyface Thanks guys ! Please try our new build, which feels way more polished now. The one you played earlier was just an early prototype for the first day !
@beardmage you're welcome dude I'll try it after😏
Impressive art and mood. Controls felt great and worked well, gliding also worked perfectly. Great job!
Great art, controlls a bit unusual but nothing serious, but robot's exclamation feedback is a bit wonky, Most of the time I didn't understand what it was referring to but again nothing serious. Well done
@cslupius Thanks for the feedback ! The exclamation refers to the proximity of the fog. It means you've entered the "Danger zone". The texture itself it going to be replaced to be more accurate soon.
@bidentworks Thanks for the feedback !
The graphics and sound design are gorgeous! Fantastic work!
really great graphics
Simply Incredible, congratulations on the excellent work
Looks stunning. The music and sfx were really nice too. It was pretty confusing to navigate the level because all the plaform were hard to distinguish so it was hard to make a mental map of the level and figure out the right path through the elevations. Also having space be both jump and jetpack was a little confusing. But overall a fun and super polished entry!
I have no idea how you managed to pull off such amazing graphics within a short amount of time, I could not make something as breathtaking as that if I had years to do it. Ontop of that the sound and overall atmosphere give it such an amazing vibe, absolutely amazing game you have here!
First, the art & interpretation of the theme are great here. Robo-guy is cute, and having the jetpack-fill meter on the back is a nice touch. I really like your jetpack mechanic, and would be interested to see what kinds of puzzles/levels could be built around it, given more time.
In regards to feedback, I think the text explaining the objective went away too fast. I’d maybe consider adding a “continue” button so the user can decide when the text on the screen should go away. Or, maybe have the lines voiced?
If you decide to continue working on this, I’d consider adding more environmental hazards that the player must navigate around. I liked the deadly fog above the player, but it never really became a hazard for me while I was playing. More parkour/platformer with the jetpack, please!
@borderdestroyer Thanks a lot ! We really gave our best on that one even if it was tough (My mate did not touch Unity in years so it was a bit hard to learn things again), glad you liked it !
@jackbad Thanks for the detailed feedback ! Did you play the 1.1 version or the first push ? Because I doubled the duration of the text, but maybe it's not enough yet. The text is one of the latest additions so it is still a bit clunky. I'll try to figure something out ! As for the hazards, indeed the fog isn't as deadly as we wanted, i'll probably tweak it before adding anything else for now. But who knows, if we feel brave, maybe we'll add the third level we planned for the jam !
Nice game! I really like the art and the style you used there. As other mentioned, it was a litte confusing to navigate the level, but well done!
Good job ! i loveeeee the art, you did a pretty good work !
Very, very pretty! It plays nicely, and with the ambient music it feels very atmospheric and serene.
I figured out the idea of finding the three symbols quickly, but I was kicked out a couple times (probably due to touching the fog, which I realize now) which was a bit confusing.
Also, the character model is super cute, and the use of diegetic UI to show the jetpack fuel is creative, much better than just slapping it on static UI. Good stuff!
Very great game. Visuals and presentation are perfect. I like how the menu scene and the health bar are in game elements. Fire was very pretty. I had issues figuring out where to go after getting the 3 symbols, and would have liked more direction on that.
The artistic direction, audio & overall ambiance were really impressive. Gameplay mechanics were good, and the controls & character had a nice feel. Use of colors & bars on the robot instead of ui was also really smart, though the health antenna was not obvious at first (i'll come back to it later).
The downsides : - The lower fog disappearing after clearing the first level didn't feel obvious and i wondered for a bit as to where i was supposed to go. - The fog overall lacks a sense of danger, it's hard to know whether you're coming close or not to it, and the warning sign doesn't do a good enough job on that. Also i'd add some blinking or something to the health antenna while in the fog to highlight the damage & health, but that's nitpicking.
It's still a really impressive game for a jam, congrats on managing that much in 72h.
Really nice looking and atmospheric game. I particularly love the look of the jetpack flames. It was a little hard to know where the fog was but the damage feedback let you know. Very impressive as a jam game. Good work!
Wow I love the graphics and the music fits the atmosphere. Really well done. I enjoyed playing it!!
Thanks a lot guys for the feedback !
@vladadamm We uploaded a new version, fog is now way more dangerous (And feels much more like it is). I wanted to setup some custom cameras to guide the player but it takes time.. i'll probably fiddle with cinemachine, in case I manage to get something decent running !
We added a lot of feedback concerning the health of the player too !
Interesting visuals, though it does get a bit repetitive on that front. The game play was fun enough, but it was too hard to see where the next goals were. You ended up just having to explore with not enough time. In the description you mentioned planning your route, but it's pretty hard when you can't see enough to make a plan. Cute robot though I did have some difficulty using the jet pack move, it was still fun to hop around and see the cavernous map.
@chrispy977 Hey, thanks for your feedback ! The exploration part is here on purpose actually. I tweaked the second level though (Build will be uploaded soon), since its main pillar's location wasn't very clear. Most people forget to use the zoom feature, which is very useful to see the symbols from far.
You can take as much time as you want since the fog only goes down when you do (It records your lowest position reached and goes to a spot a few meters above it)
Also, what caused you issues with the jetpack precisely ?
Nice entry overall, the 3D lowpoly style is quite beautiful and the atmosphere is :ok_hand:. There's one of two things I'd personally change. The fog thingy isn't really clear, imho it needs to scream "danger" a bit more and lacks player feedback when it lowers and when it disappears from below you. Also, it's easy to forget about the zoom ability which is actually pretty useful. Globally, I think you need to guide the player more (about the objectives, dangers, etc). But that's easily tweakable, all in all the game feels good to play and that's the hard part done. Kudos. P.S.: I started playing this on stream yesterday, here's a link if you want to check out the VOD https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006460625?t=03h09m27s
Tested the new version (1.5), and the feedbacks for health are a lot better now, and the path opening being showed is good. It also feels like jetpack got nerfed a bit, not a bad thing as you could nearly cross the full level in a single go before.
New fog looks a lot better & more dangerous, but seems to be too gpu-heavy (had framedrops while going through it. Laptop with rtx2060 & ryzen 9, so not a bad config). Also, there doesn't seem to be any possibility of going back higher anymore, which is a bit disappointing as it gives no room for error and you can soft lock yourself pretty easily.
@vladadamm Thanks for the feedback ! I knew the new fog would create more overdraw (More & smaller particles), but I hoped that switching to the VFX graph would help a bit. I guess i'll have to switch to a shader or a flipbook to get a better result. Gotta step up my game haha
About going higher, I don't think I changed anything related to the fog height (Except that now, if you interact with the wrong pedestal, the fog goes down a few meters instead of cancelling the last pedestal). I'll probably tweak damage values a bit more though, I went a bit too hard on the difficulty when balancing that..
@paulloz I dont know yet how i'll handle the guiding part concerning the fog going down better while keeping diegetic UI tbh, but I'm sure i'll find out ! Thanks for your time :)
Feedback - I liked the mist and the stuff to turn on - I didn't know what I was doing - Music was really nice
Nice! Really cool. Thanks guys, I was able to do it in less than 10 minutes as you promised. Congrats on this little entry. I enjoyed it. **CL4P-TP** !! I loved that I had to figure it out myself.
Improvements: * Camera is a bit too close/near to the character for my taste. * Controls are very sensitive but you get used to. Ideally make it an option. * I received "!" warnings but I had no idea why and what they mean. At one point I died, but I did not understand why.
