The game is beautiful, the movement fluid, and I liked the music. I didn't like the gun so much. It seemed to fire above the worms instead of into the worms and after dying a couple times I gave up. The tunnel of eyes was kind of cool and creepy.

This forest is SO dangerous. Love your artstyle!

thanielpin 2020-10-07 23:41

Jesus, I can't get enough of the art. This was such a good entry, definitely one of my favorites!

cookie-chr 2020-10-08 10:22

Really good graphics! Too bad I can't seem to aim well with the mous, it seem to fire way above where I'm aiming

jonas-michael 2020-10-08 10:31

Awesome graphics. I liked the animations and movement options, like the double jump. However, The controls for the gun seemed a bit off and I was basically stuck in the second (?) level and I am not very shure, what the objective of the game was. But I do understand that in 72h it is hard to get such beautiful graphics and self-explanatory levels with just two people!

The only complaint about this game is that there isn't more of it. The art's gorgeous, the world is interesting, and the controls are really, really good. Like, not just good for only having three day, good as in I'd play a full 30 hour long game that controlled this well. I think you should take this framework after the jam and make it into something bigger, just throw some level design on there and, bang, you've got a hit

I loved the art of the game. Something happened that left no sound here. But I didn't quite understand the idea of the game. After walking and killing a few times, the screen fell until it closed on it.

I really like the artwork, the character design is very cool, I like her animations. Movement is fluid and snappy, and space jump blur is a nice touch (though I think it should spin faster). The cave of eyes was cool. The slugs seem to kill me really quickly, and snapping back to life without the gun was jarring. Not sure if there is anything more to do than get the gun, shoot maggots, and fall through the cave?

roboshamit 2020-10-09 23:10

Great execution of the theme and well polished. The worms were really annoying though!

dongle 2020-10-09 23:33

@ismael-rodriguez There is an anti-climatic end to the game, but basically we only had time to make the worm slug things. We had bigger plans for the NPC which is hinted at the end of the game. You'll know if you are going in the right direction if his dialog changes. Basically you pretty much summed it up though. Thanks for the feed back!

I see people are commenting about the music but there wasn't any music/sfx for me. I keep dying to the worms. I am not able to shoot them or jump over them. But the movement was ace though. Good effort.

dongle 2020-10-09 23:56

@anant-ahuja Yeah there is no sound! That first player was confused. I just addressed it in a edit to the description. Thanks for the feedback!

Loved the artsyle and the animations !

oblivion-games 2020-10-10 03:11

Very enjoyable game and amazing art. You did a really great job!

ividusk 2020-10-10 03:20

Very lovely artstyle and animations. I really liked the way the 'stuck in a loop' theme was interpreted by falling through the forest. I agree with the other comments about the worms - I kept dying to them and in the end I gave up. Perhaps if there was a way to refill your health it would be fairer?

chris-mulholland 2020-10-10 03:25

Great game guys, good job

rainbows-are-fun 2020-10-10 04:32

Nice art and nice use of the theme, good entry

drjexter 2020-10-10 05:55

I enjoyed this entry, I didn't fully play through it as I was stuck fighting off 4+ worms at once. I just couldn't kill them, I need to get gud. Fun though and the art was great!

kohcepba 2020-10-10 06:14

I was pushing dead caterpillars into the hole, but their bodies teleport back. So it is not a loop for everyone, only for main character.

ellladee 2020-10-10 06:24

Wow, it's beautiful! Love it!

benslaney 2020-10-10 10:14

The art is really great and I love the double jump animation!

vivien-fargette 2020-10-10 10:18

These graphics are amazing! Here are some of my ideas to improve the game (please continue it after the jam, I want to play more of it): * The first shot you make always go above the worms, not a big deal but an unnecessary thing the player has to take into account so correcting it to directly shoot in the targeted direction * Adding a small time of invincibility after being hit would make the game less punitive (especially when there are a lot of enemies) * Make checkpoints: the fall into the pit animation with the eyes was cool but having to see it again every time I died was a bit long * A background music would really add to the mood of the game (even if it already nice) * I think making the worms fall into the pit should be a viable strategy for the game and not a way to make it harder. Maybe allowing shooting while moving would be another option to make the gameplay less frustrating

Overall, the game is really nice and a great result for a jam: I had a lot of fun playing it and, as I said, I would love to try a more complete post jam version :D

no-grapes-games 2020-10-10 11:53

This was fine I guess, for a jam game. I couldn't get very far in the game because the difficulty balance was not there. The lack of a checkpoint caused me to give up trying to get far in the game. I guess the strongest feature of this game was the art. Really great art!

justcamh 2020-10-10 14:22

Heyo, I played your game on stream! Here's the vod if you wanna rewatch; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/765804766

Thanks for submitting your game!

codertrevor 2020-10-17 14:55

The artwork and animation was really good. The story was a little bit anticlimactic but that's often how it goes in a game jam. I just wish it had sound, and a fullscreen mode. Overall, good job!
