I'm sure blue blobs don't deserve to be eaten
The blobmonster is very cute and I really like the sound effects for it :D
Great start with this one. I kept getting bounced around the map from getting chain hit by enemy blobs so it made moving hard. Nice retro art style.
Love that you don't take damage but your blob does. That design decision works really well with the theme of the jam!
I like the sound effects and the cute blob thing!
this game looks quite nice, but it's so hard to hit the blue blobs and the sword feels really unsatisfying
A bit too hard to move, as the blobs push me continuosly. Other than that it's nice!
pretty cute, a good game
Your own blob is very cute! I did find it somewhat hard though to figure out what exactly was the goal of the game, and actually landing hits on the enemy blobs was also quite hard. The sound effects were certainly quite fun though!
Thank for the game. I'd like to see a bit more info about objectives :)
I really liked the idea and the Sound effects! Attacking was really difficult though. Other than that, great job!
Interesting game! I like the mechanics, albeit the controls were a bit hard since you don't seem to be able to attack while moving.
Keep up the good work!
Nice, like the art and the sound design :) It's good except for the sword hitbox, it is a bit frustating to hit the blob.
Neat little game, killing enemies to feed them to the blob is a nice take on the theme. The gameplay feels a bit flimsy at first, especially because you have to stop before you can attack, but the sprites and animation look very nice with the retro style. Good submission!
First of all, I do not know if any of these are limitations PICO-8...

Not a biggest fan of the color palette. I quite sure you have at least somewhat of a free range of palettes on PICO-8. Otherwise it looks pretty ok but the red (especially with the light blue) really clashes. Other than the palette, I think the pixel art looked quite fine. The enemy blobs could have been more blob shaped and less perfect circles. The friendly one could have been more friendly too. Also maybe some animation would have made it stick out a bit from not just being a wall.
You had all four different sprites for moving different directions. But the idle pose always returned to downward facing one and same goes for attacking. Made it look a bit clunky and made aiming the attacks harder and disorientating. Would have liked for the attack area to be bigger.
There was no need to have own individual buttons for both feeding and attacking. They both could use the same one, you're not gonna attack your friend anyway. Or you could also just feed them by just walking towards them just like you do when picking up enemy remains.
The enemies knocking you around felt obnoxious. I guess in a way that's good sine it is supposed to be bad and just waste your time but I think it was a bit much. This of course too would have been better if the own attack area was bigger so it wouldn't need to be so pixel perfect.
Anyways, good job! Always fun to see PICO-8 games and what people manage to do with such limitations...
This game has a feel of 80-90's games. Dealing damage to enemies is hard, because dealing hits and using the sword is not logical, where the damage targets to . You should probably fix the graphics a bit; while the ground and player is simple but fine, the enemies still looking like the prefabs - orbiting balls are just boring. Also would add a "every tick" rendering text field, which shows the players score all the time. Also the player guides ("-> HOW i feed the *Blob*") are all user-friendly features
