This was fun! For feedback, it would help to make your character's hitbox for picking up collectibles 2 squares high instead of 1. Right now your character's head will clip through collectibles.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → Gettn' Diggy Wit It

It’s so lovely! I enjoyed it
Lots of replayability potential, which is always welcome! Animations could see some polish, but nonetheless incredible game!
very amusing. I had fun with him for an hour.
Fun game! I like the polishing in the animations, the art style in the entire game feels pretty consistent and that makes it fun to play. I guess the hearts mean you receive money? I was a bit sad that sometimes I dug under things and I couldn't click on them to collect, or jump, which felt a bit mean. I was also playing it on a laptop so the clicking mechanic didn't really work for me (pressing keys disables the keypad partially), so it would've been nice to have "space" or some other key dig in the current looking direction or something, but I was able to make it work and play for a bit. I also liked the map mechanic, only did the first two sites partially but makes me feel like there's a lot that I missed! And also being able to walk through the hall and look at your progress is very cool!
Very good mood game. It looks like a mix between terraria and animal crossing. And you have to find a strategy to dig fast, without getting stuck too quickly.
I love the museum progression too.
Wellplayed.
Nice game! It was fun to play, the fossils look great.
I like this take on the digging game. I really liked the museum portion. I had a bug where there were no fossils in dig site C. I checked the whole area with the ground scanner thing and nothing showed up. But I completed the other two. Good game!
Fun game, seemed really polished. Though it was still kind of tedious picking up everything even with all of the upgrades. Would be cool to see a coffee upgrade to speed up the digging or single use bomb type items. Thanks for the game.
Good idea, but that's quite a grinding game. It really needs a leaderboard with time otherwise playing gets boring too soon. Had fun with jumping near walls instead of climbing
the idea is good but is kind of random and grindy how you find the fossils.
Some sort of hint could make the game more interesting
Very nice game, it seems you put a lot of work and it turned out pretty well. I like the concept of the game and the art is amazing. Great job!!
Amazing original concept!.
Graphics- Tiling, otherwise beautiful. Loved the character Loved the fossils. Great movement mechanics. Needs a little gamification, but very satisfying to play.
If you want to push something like this further, you should aim for consistency in the artwork. You've got a mix of low-res pixelart, photographs, and higher-resolution hand drawn art, which makes things look like they don't really belong together.
Hey this is really fun, and you managed to make a hub world??? That's awesome!! It's a very cool idea, it gets a bit repetitive after a while, but that can be fixed by adding a few more mechanics later on the game. The idea of uncovering big and small fosils is really cool, overal well thought and executed! :D
Pretty nice game with some great potentia. I loved the little tutorial, but please make the player's pickup hit box 2 high, other than that an over all good game.
The thing that stood out most to me in this game was the menu. Or rather.........the lack of it! The way you integrated all the upgrades and map parts into a diegetic was super cool and it really grounds you into the museum, that you're really building it up and that it's your HQ. A simple zoom-in to bring up the menu and bam, there it is.
The mechanics are fairly classic miner stuff with a dash of Terraria in terms of having tools that could help you get around. I did think the digging was a tad unusual where sometimes you could dig further away but I suppose that mostly helped me speed things up anyways. Having the fossils be hidden is a little more unusual for the genre and makes exploration somewhat more random, but in return you do get a little bit more reward when you do discover something.
And wow, you fit in a save system while you were at it!
Cute visuals! I don't love the grindy nature of the gameplay loop but the packaging, juice, and details were fantastic for a jam game.
