Interesting subversion on an old classic! Wish the snake moved faster as they ate more pellets, as in the later rounds it can fel sluggish. Overall fun! My highscore was 40!

Hi @morepixels, thank you for the feedback! Yea, I totally agree, I also think it does feel a little too slow. I did a test with a faster speed and it seems the fruit would kinda sync out of the cube lanes. I will definitely give it another try.
I agree with @morepixels. I would've liked to see the snake speed up. Apart from that I really like the visualization you chose to make sure one knows on which lane on the other sides of the cube stuff is/appears. I was never lost while playing (except for possible skill issues ).
Cool play on the snake concept! Maybe the cube should be a bit smaller so that the game becomes challenging earlier.
@bumble Yea, I am also very happy how the lanes worked out in the end.
@cambryx That's a good suggestion. I still hope I will be able to speed the game up properly to make it a bit more challenging.
Nice game. It would have been more fun if the snake was faster though. Also the cube should have sharp edges so that you can change directions immediately when you switch to another face of the cube instead of having to wait.
Hi @ludumdaredevil, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! As multiple people mentioned the snake speed, I just finished an update, which addresses the speed and it should be faster now (the original release is still download- and playable for Windows if anyone prefers to play that version).
I did use sharp edges in an earlier build, but I thought it could get easily disorienting for the player.
Fun alternative take on snake! I agree with the other comments that it would've been better if the snake was a little faster, but its not a deal breaker. I do wish the sound was a little less shrill, it got grating pretty fast, but otherwise I really enjoyed it, well done!
It's a cool idea, it looks stylish and futuristic. I advise you to make a smooth transition when turning the cube, it is very unpleasant that the controls are taken away when turning. And to keep the player playing, add all the basic functions from the original snake (timer, speed change, high scores, etc.)
It plays as advertised and it's pretty fun. Despite looking through a 3d cube, I can usually tell where everything is no matter which side it's on, probably thanks to the simple graphics. Seeing the snake wrap around the cube is pretty neat. I find it starts getting hard after around 50, when the snake wraps around most of the cube. I'll add a +1 to making the snake faster as the game progresses, but the challenge is there regardless.
This is pretty fun. Solid graphics and sound effects. I'd add an input buffer when transitioning sides, sometimes I felt like I couldn't go where I wanted fast enough when the input was taken from me on the transition
it's an interesting idea, but the game's core mechanics are too slow to reveal, the snake takes too long to grow, and sometimes the snake doesn't turn in the right direction after pressing the button
Cool idea! Ant visibility of target and the snake are great! Sometimes felt like inputs are missed - maybe a buffer for apply the movement change can help with it. But very clean implementation, very catchy, want more with different levels, speed increasing and other things.
This is just a simple idea done very well! I'm surprised I hadn't seen 3D snake done like this before. I could keep playing for a long time! One suggestion maybe is to add a buffer so that the player can queue up a couple inputs, getting the controls right on snake can be surprisingly tricky because of the way the snake moves in steps that last multiple frames. But that's just a small thing, I think you did a really good job!
This was really atmospheric and well put together
Like the others above have said, the game starts of waaay to easy. But i think you know that by know xP once you get going (around 40 points) it's really fun and challenging! had a good time with it.
A very classic snake game, but it is played on a 3D cube rather than a single plane. Sometimes the position of the sphere is not very clear, making it difficult to determine which face of the cube it is on in time. Perhaps assigning different colors to each face of the cube could help alleviate this problem.
Nice idea, having to play a snake on a cube surface. The game is well executed. The cube doesn't look very 3D, maybe a wireframe model would be better.
The is a okay little snake game. Perhaps a bit slow, but not a big issue. Some music would have been great.
Could play this for hours, but could use some difficulty scaling in some way beyond getting longer. Thanks for the game.
snake cube!
Wow great concept and well executed! Just great. I like how it almost becomes a puzzle game as much as a reaction game when the snake grows long enough. I think maybe you could have colour-coded the different sides to make it a little bit more readable, but that's all I got really. Well done!
its really great concept with not bad gameplay
Really fun idea! The gameplay is simple but addictive and i am surprised that the game manages to show the sphere so clearly even in 3D.
Impressive tech display. Incredible how you can see thru the cube, a great choice.
Snake in 3D! I really love how you created this. Even if the objects are simplistic, they allow you to see where is the apple. Well done!
Very nice concept! Taking a well-known game and adding an additional dimension to it is awesome, because it gives this refreshing vibe without requiring long introductions!
I was a bit skeptical at first, as I thought collectibles would also be inside the cube, so I was worried about the readability, but making it only on the surface of the cube made it all smooth and readable, and still added a small difficulty. It was the good decision and you executed it very well!
I think it's kind of an easy take on the theme, and it could have been even better with a nice background music, but other than that I had a lot of fun with it!
Great game!
Cool concept, though it only gets challenging at about 50 or so points, I think an option to make the snake move faster (like pressing shift) would make it a lot more enjoyable to replay it. Still, great job!
Very solid snake game! Had fun with it looping around and dodging yourself. I think it might be interesting if there was some solid pillars/walls etc that appear as you grow to require you to navigate more, but with the rotation that would get hard to track so not how well it would play out. One idea I had to improve visibility of the next goal is adding in a slight color shift of the two planes that align with the pickup, for the most part I could tell without that when it's behind, but there was some instances where it was near the edge where I'd have to do another loop to actually align with the pickup.
Хорошая идея и реализация, правда не ощущается челендж
It seems like just a snake on a cube, but it's quite an interesting idea. I've never seen anything like it before, and it's even fun. It makes you rack your brains a little.
