LD46 — Keep it alive

Where the Fire Goes by Roka Josh 2020-04-21T18:06:36Z

nice idea, I enjoyed the mixture of "save the plants" and "save yourself" puzzles. One suggestion would be to add keyboard controls - I found it a bit frustrating to have to move around using the mouse on a grid that feels like it would lend itself quite nicely to keyboard controls

Bacteria Attack by Nikos1304 2020-04-21T18:53:49Z

I really like the concept - I found the controls a little fiddly, I think a click & drag would have been a little easier for dispatching the dna.

Also, there seem to be some performance issues on the html version - when I'm about to fail, the game grinds down to a halt, and due to that I keep accidentally pressing buttons on the menu that pops up without realising it's there.

I enjoyed the ad a lot! I was disappointed it didn't play all the way through :P

I also can't download this, it says I don't have access :(

Disco Inferno by Simon Rahnasto 2021-04-30T21:06:35Z

Really great job! I liked the visual effect of the retro-tv style. Voice acting was great, I especially liked the demon butler character. The mechanic of picking up a new gun/powerup per kill was good at keeping the game interesting, I think I much preferred that to e.g. picking up one new gun per floor. It was very reminiscent of Enter The Gungeon actually!

I think this was the perfect length for a jam game as well - it held my interest long enough to get to the end, but it was repetitive enough that any more levels and I may have got bored and smoved on.

Really great job!

Dance of bullets by Onizik 2021-04-30T19:49:20Z

The art in this game is incredible!

I found that the enemy waves didn't really line up with the beat as I'd expect, which was a bit distracting for a rhythm game. I also think some kind of audio/visual effect when you kill an enemy would go a long way into polishing the game.

Nice job!

Dreadnought Parlance & the Magic Pearl by DecrementedPalindrome 2021-04-28T07:36:20Z

Fun game! The upgrade system sucked me in and I played to the end. Cool mechanic with the constant fire mode - saves me holding down a button to fire like I'd otherwise be doing the majority of the time, and by the bottom it starts to become an active detriment.

My only real criticism would be that when the sea bed starts approaching, the effect used makes it really difficult to parse the action in the foreground - as the background is trying to force a perspective, but the bullet dodging is still all in the original one.

Little Boy Commits WarCrimes Against Nature by Yahay 2021-04-30T20:02:29Z

Nice game! I liked the core mechanic. I felt the controls to be a bit fiddly at times - the movement seemed a bit jumpy and not that smooth, and the bombs sometimes seemed to go off when I kicked them, making the puzzles a bit harder. Also I accidentally jumped out of the map at the start of one of the levels and had no way back to the game and no restart button

Hyperlooper by Matt Barnfield 2022-10-04T09:53:49Z

I escaped! This was really fun, well done. (I did need to plug in my mouse after starting the game with a trackpad once I got to a certain point!) The particle effects around the player are really fun :)

Bygone Melodies by Save Sloth Studios 2022-10-05T00:39:51Z

This was so charming! The art and story here are absolutely stellar, great work!

I found the rhythm game fairly fun, if a little challenging at times - there was a fun time signature in the third level, and some fun tempo variations in level 4. My main feedback for the core gameplay loop would be to possibly have some kind of combo meter / score tracker visible. It might take away from the aesthetic a little, but I think it would have kept my interest a little more if I was trying to keep up a combo, whereas as it stands some of the song sections felt a little repetitive for my tastes.

Very cool take on the theme! I enjoyed discovering the different move sets as you age - though I would have appreciated some kind of tutorial as I struggled a bit to work out how to play at first. I also found that the exits to the rooms were a little hard to see, the textures were a bit similar and sometimes obscured by the HUD overlay.

Escape From Paradox Place by Voidwave 2022-10-05T00:21:28Z

I do love a good time loop puzzle! I suspect we'll see a fair few of them given the theme. I enjoyed getting through this - I was a bit daunted by the fact I'd have to do everything in one loop before I realised that the rings we persistent. Also was a bit confused by the "level complete" screen that indicated I needed to go to another level, but never managed to work out how.
