I enjoyed driving around and listening to some tunes. Peaceful, nice mood. Controls were a bit off, especially for the car. Nice entry, had a good time!

What about Mac?

rosa-nussbaum 2023-05-02 13:15

Fun chill game, nice to see something set in Australia. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the radio and the little touches in the car.

nanixdev 2023-05-02 13:24

Really nice game! Well done, I have never been to Australia but this is always what I imagined it to look like.

cabjhegas 2023-05-02 13:29

Hi! Unfortunately I can't download the windows version. And as you said, the webgl version is quite compromised. But I could have a brief test of the experience and I enjoyed it. The setting is very well done, with the sound effects and so on. The quest system was also a huge feat for the short amount of time. Congratulations!

The car is a bit hard to control and the back trunk is too shallow, can't fit much stuff inside, so I have to keep getting out of the car to pick things up. But it's really interesting, the ice is slippery and I feel like if I throw it hard enough, I can land it at the destination in one try. It's so much fun!

@nanixdev I'm Australian and it comes from the heart, this is the authentic experience.

@fnelix the car pulls right and is a bit of a junker intentionally :)

@cabjhegas thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The vibes are great with this one! You really nailed the mood! The physics in their janky glory were quite enjoyable and very fitting. If anything, maybe there could be a way to rotate the object you're holding to make it a bit easier to load your car.

I loved the unorthodox ways you could play with the physics. For example, I found the easiest way to transport ice cubes was to stuff 4-5 of them in the shotgun seat and then glitch yourself to the driver seat through the back. I also had some trouble getting the fridge to the truck bed so I ended up pushing the thing with the truck. The fridge got kinda stuck to the front of the truck so it was really easy to just push it all the way.

Game makes me want to head to australia and deliver some ice cubes. It's clear what you were going for and I can say you hit the mark. Only critique would maybe be some quality of life, like when something falls out the back that you get something to let you know. But I guess you don't have that in real life so hm :D

3mpty 2023-05-03 14:08

@kujoen it's a hard problem to solve, with more time I'd make a sound for when something falls out or hits the ground at high speed, but I spent a lot of time on audio already so I was out of time budget for it :'(

thanks for playing!!

Really fun to play !! Love driving

stormforged 2023-05-04 09:12

There is an amazing attention to detail here that I really wasn't expecting. True to the lived experience of this rock too. All the physics interactions were really fun and played great. Loved it.

This was funny as heck. Loved seeing the Australia-isms xD haha.

I journey across this blasted blue wasteland, chasing the infinite horizon with only the chatter of Knob AM to keep me company. I feel my sanity is slowly slipping away but I will never go back to that hellish place. May God have mercy on my soul.

Absolutely fantastic work cobba! My only gripe is that Manjimup doesn't have any apple trees :(

Loved the PS1 graphics, and that nearly everything was interactable, seriously great work!

3mpty 2023-05-09 13:07

@peterfiftyfour you can leave australia but australia will never leave you. you will never know peace, and the bronze sky will shine above you always. there is no escape, it's a prison after all, and good people don't end up here. but you knew that already didn't you?

@shane-gadsby ty for playing, didn't know manjimup was known for apples, more regional research is needed obviously.

This is highly impressive!

You have so much added. I love the 2d character board things ahahha

Its really a huge game. You did fantastic :D nice job!

The driving works really well. The music is also very fitting.

Soooo much work here. Most of it real good. I liked the vibes a lot. The options for the Ute excellent. Radio was awesome. It's so big and that is maybe a blessing and a curse on a jam game. It requires a lot of time to start getting into the game. Collecting stuff up was fun and I liked trying to get it to fit and stay in the back. I found the camera/steering combo a bit of a head fry but it also felt appropriate. Super work KUDOS
