Doesn't run. Looks like it is a Unity project, which means we need more than the exe to run it. The exe was in a folder after you built it, we need all the files in that folder that were added when the build finished.

You need to add them to a compressed folder (zip file) then upload that zip file so we can play the game.

Thanks for letting us know, we will fix : )

Fixed

Very fun game with great sounds, so satisfying to just ruin every single one of these block-peoples dinners.

Lacking a retry button in the pause menu was a bit annoying.

Had a blast playing! The controls are a bit "unstable" at first but I quickly got the hang of it. Great work!

bulix 2021-10-05 09:43

I had a great time playing thanks to the sounds and the controls. Good job guys!

jakobthequizguy 2021-10-05 09:49

This was a pleasant experience! Knocking people over and hearing them shout was really funny. I get that the waiter should be difficult to control in some sense, but I didn't really like how the controls felt delayed at times. Other than that this is a solid and very charming entry, congratulations and well done!

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-05 20:28

Controls were a difficult one to balance. They aren't delayed, but do feel so because of the accelerating and decelerating, if this weren't the case then the game would be very easy. Given more time, some maths magic could be done to be both difficult and responsive

stalemeat 2021-10-06 09:04

This was one of the funnier ones I've played so far! This was very well done. I like how it looks, very Katamari-ish, and the actions the waiter did when he goes out of control looked so humous! This was fun. Nice level design too.

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-06 09:17

@Stalemeat thanks very much! You get some funny results when you drop your plates, we tried our best to make the other waiters skill based so you could route around them, cheers for playing

Just played the game, I found it quite humorous and once I got a hang of the controls, the game was very fun. Like you explained in another comment, I do think the addition of accerelation was ultimatley a good choice, but could be tweaked a little. Overall I had a good time with this game, did give me quite a few laughs :)

quite-good 2021-10-07 05:32

This game is an absolute masterpiece. Stunning visuals, stellar gameplay and above all it made me absolutely lose my shit!! Cannot even describe how much I was cracking up playing this. First time replaying a jam game after beating it just because I wanted to bulldoze through more tables and customers with nothing more than my meager waiter body. So. Good.

I am a little sad because I felt like I was playing the game wrong because for whatever reason the game rewards you for *not* doing the most fun thing which is knocking over things. I also wish I could choose a level to play because the first level was less fun than the others because of less things to knock over. So passionate about this game though. 5 stars in all categories, well done.

Also I got softlocked when a waiter pushed me off the level

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-07 07:35

@quite-good Thanks so much, we wanted to add different game modes (3 lifes only, maximum destruction), and a kill plane when you fall off the level, but we had a last minute bug that cost us a precious hour. We put a extra time into the sfx instead of the game modes since it's only a jam.

jaybaus 2021-10-07 20:00

I had a lot of fun playing this, the way the character would suddenly lose control and the people screaming as they fell off the chairs was brilliant  exactly what I hoped this game would be. Great job!

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-07 21:15

@jaybaus thanks for the feedback jay : )

dragonsheep 2021-10-08 03:13

It took a little while for me to get used to just how quick the player character would spiral out of control. Other than that, a very fine game.

hiroboto 2021-10-08 09:56

Like that!! really fun playing this game!

v174m1n 2021-10-08 10:08

i couldnt play it because what ever button i pressed, the waiter will drop the plates and run... but i did like the idea tho.

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-08 12:51

@v174m1n Hi Vitamin, sorry about that. If you go too fast then the waiter will fall over. You've got to move quite slowly at first until you get used to the movement, hope you're able to play now : )

awesomealliterationalliance 2021-10-08 18:36

That was funny as hell, not gonna lie :D Really nice take on the theme and perfect use of your sfx. It took me a few tries to get the mechancis down but after a while a was waiting tables like a pro... a pro with little regard for human life

zachsbutt 2021-10-08 22:16

solid entry! only thing i would say is, it would've been nice if there was music during gameplay. aside from that i had fun being the best waiter i could be :-)

juutis 2021-10-09 09:22

The controls seem to be framerate-dependent. At first - with uncapped framerate - even the slightest touch to the movement keys would send my waiter flying into that direction and the plates would immediately drop. When I capped my framerate to 60 the game was playable.

The game itself was fun. Great use of sound effects made crashing into tables and other people very enjoyable. Even if that wasn't exactly the point of the game.

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-10 08:43

@zachsbutt I spent some time trying to find/make gameplay music but couldn't find anything that improved upon nothing, tried some jazz/lounge music but it didn't sound right for each stage. Thanks for feedback

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-10 08:43

@juutis Thanks for review : ) Shame it's framerate dependent, I thought everything was with deltaTime, there must be a couple things that aren't, thanks for finding a solution though

margotlsdgt 2021-10-11 14:42

So fun, really difficult, I had a lot of fun with friend trying to keep him straight xD Good job !

jonathan-alderson 2021-10-11 19:10

@margottlsdgt thanks so much for playing
