Well done you guys! Great concept. I like the sound effect as well.

I had over 100 score. Simple gameplay, but pretty good.
A nice and simple game. One thing I noticed is that you can spam click on a single servant to get rid of the whole red meter at once. :)
@juutis ouch, thank you for that bug report.
Wtf I just played? What is the sound the people make when pushed to the Vulcan is it a cat dying?
I liked most the idea and the game controls!
Why r the men the only ones sacrificed? Can't the cultists send their female unwanted relatives for sacrificing? :smiling_imp:
@fernando-tonon-de-rossi The cat dying is my son screaming ;) And yeah maybe we should've thought about a bit gender equality here. Next time ;)
Nice and simple. And a bit difficult! Your son made some great sound effects.
I really liked the mechanics of the game. Even though i guess it's nothing i would like to play outside of a jam. The sound and music is great. The font is kinda hard to read. I skipped the how to play, because of the hard reading of the font, but luckily controls were easy enough.
@backyard-dev It's nice sharing some time with the family doing this kind of project! Congrats!
It's a nice game, reminds me that kind of TV show where people has to go through bridges with obstacles, which is also funny!
Really fun, simple game play and nice use of the theme. Great sound effects.
Fun, simple game. After a bit it got boring though as it is maybe a bit too simple.
i could not get it to run on chrome?
@paulhocker it should run in chrome. Make sure that your chrome is up to date. If it still doesn't work you could try firefox.
It has some potential, mabye a little more polish. Good job
Cool sounds! Keep going making games!
First of all I love that you worked on this as a family :) About the game itself. I really liked the scream sound effect (I just hope no one got hurt in real life, haha), and the music with graphics were also cool. Not gonna lie, the gameplay was not exactly thrilling, but it was fun for a while :) For me it was a really nice experience.
Neat! I like how simple yet engaging it is. I did get scared for a moment as the volcano was about to erupt and none of the servants passing by had what it needed. :scream: but eventually one did just as it was at its limited and I was able to survive.
It would be helpful if the icon that represents what my be sacrificed is also displayed at the center-top because when the game gets faster and more hectic its easy to miss when when sacrifice type changes and easy to miss the one NPC that has the item because of the distance my eyes have to travel.
Other than that, very cool. :)
*Why build a bridge directly over a volcano?* *Why build a temple on the other side of the volcano?* *Why build a village so close to a volcano to begin with?* So many questions left open...
Working as a family on a jam project is pretty cute. You did manage to finish something simple, quickly; that's good, time is valuable resource.
To the project then. Fits the theme, although human sacrifice is rather grim. The audio-visuals are adequate, nothing out of the ordinary outside of the sacrifice scream which is pretty *funny* in a horrid manner.
The interactivity is about as rudimentary as it can be, yet I still would have preferred a different take on the controls. You see, clicking on lanky, fast moving, villagers requires a lot of spammy clicking. I've never been a fan of excessive clicking and never will. There are a lot of possible alternatives. One way is to add multiple "trap doors" to the bridge which are momentarily opened by pressing different keys, for instance F,G,H and J.
As mentioned before by @prodigalson, it is hard to keep track of the required resource as it keeps changing at random intervals. A pronounced animation or particle effect on the icon would alleviate this issue, as would changing the icon position and size.
Solid effort taken the constraints, but more time would have improved the project no doubt. Next time, eh?
