Decent little idle game, the art makes it pretty fun to see what's deeper. A little slow at the start and i wish there were more options than just giving 100 workers, maybe a 10 or 100 add? It would be nice if there were some kind of thing i could do while idle, maybe a clicker or something, but overall good job.

Hmm... at the beginning, without the video, it was a bit hard to understand what was going on, but thank you so much for including it :) Yeah, the game is a farming sim, which seems to be an eternal genre where there's always room for improvement and trying new things. I liked the genre mix – building and, to some extent, a bit of mystery?))) Hard to say, but yes, it looks unique :) Thank you for your hard work!

I don't quite understand how this is related to the topic of depth, but it looks cool. I like such simulations, I especially like the art in this game.

nazgulx 2025-04-08 16:17

Started for the cool cover and stayed a lot longer than planned. The art is very cool and for a while I forgot that his was a Ludum Dare entry.

Was able to beat the final level and drill to the core of the earth lol. One small request is that it would be nice to have an "add all" type of button because i had like 15000 drill machines and 18000 demon bosses i could've added, but didnt want to press the +100 that many times.

Oh, also it would've been nice if I could reroll the shop or refresh the shop to buy even more items. I was so flush with cash, I just bought everything and I still couldnt spend it all fast enough by the later levels.

Fun game!

artel 2025-04-09 05:56

Wonderful game! Even though the AI art is a bit jarring, the gameplay is incredibly engaging. I ended up spending more time on this than any other jam game (over an hour). I really hope you don’t abandon it after the jam and continue developing it — maybe even draw the art yourself!

basekeet 2025-04-09 08:08

At first, it was a bit hard to understand what to do, but once I figured it out, the gameplay became pretty fun! Not a big fan of the AI-generated art — it’s okay, but not really my thing. I also think some cool background music could really help elevate the experience!

leoatopos 2025-04-09 09:22

Understood, when saw Joker.haha

slimetrash 2025-04-09 10:44

this was fun! my main criticism would just be that the art and the ui animations are a bit jarring, something about the inconsistency between them makes me nauseous lol. overall a really solid entry though, hope you stick with it after the jam!

jadener 2025-04-09 11:08

I like the game, but I dont really think it has anything to do with "Depths", and I didnt like the use of AI art. Id prefer badly drawn images and squares to be honest. Other than that, the mechanic worked as intended.

flinge 2025-04-09 12:12

It’s really missing the sound to feel complete — right now it lacks that full sensory impact

cinar 2025-04-09 14:52

Cool entry, nicely done

magus77 2025-04-09 15:21

cool concept, but for some reason i didn't have any sound in the game. might be my browser, or there is no sound, idk.

braktheman 2025-04-09 15:31

I play a lot of idle games in my spare time and I think there are a lot of good concepts at play that need a little bit of tweaking.

My biggest gripe was when a bar went fast enough that it was solid it felt like any additional units or using a joker didn't actually help to increase the speed at all. I'm assuming everything is capped at some point for speed unless I'm missing something.

The lack of audio and the AI art are kind of sticking points with me too but I understand some things are just in the territory with the time crunch.

Don't get me wrong, I had fun with it though! I really like the concept of a stage/wave based idle game and it has potential!

(I also just want to say after playing through all the stages I personally think it fits in with the depths theme more than you're getting credit for.)

bene-labs 2025-04-09 15:47

Solid gameplay but really needs some sound and the ai-generated art was a bit of a turn off, especially the cover were you could clearly see all the messed up hands

paulhocker 2025-04-10 03:50

a lot to learn so i want to go back and play some more -- but what i played was great take on the theme

andreadbx 2025-04-10 17:21

Gameplay has intresting ideas, i don't appreciate the fact that is split in levels with the shop in between, it kinda breaks a bit the idle game core gameplay loop, would have been better with a toggle shop you can call at every time and incremental values :P About the art, for me personally the problem isn't ai, it's that the color palette is all over the place! it's a nice start, i hope to see more in future game jams :P

mod-wiz 2025-04-10 18:10

It's a nice idle game. But i do agree with @flinge and @basekeet that it is missing sound and some light background music, that would really elevate the experience and enhance feedback to the player.

buckmeister 2025-04-10 20:10

Pretty neat idea, though, it really needs some sounds. Good job overall regardless!

mr-mesmer 2025-04-10 23:00

Nice cozy game. For me will be better, if my resources saves between rounds, and UI not so perfect, i prefer one click to add workers, not go to menu. But I have fun overall.

cure 2025-04-10 23:17

Love Idle games, love that you made one for a jam, it is super fun!

nbumgardner 2025-04-11 00:28

Thank you for including a skip button to be able to see all of the levels' balance quickly, it was probably helpful while coding and testing as well.

adamwigs 2025-04-11 06:15

Always love a little idle game where number gets bigger. Kind of wished I could see the stats of each worker that was being used as it scratches that itch of "optimize everything", but overall pretty fun! Who doesn't want to dig to the center of the earth!

0x-void-x0 2025-04-11 10:25

Probably my first ever idle game in a game jam, I like the simple but addictive mechanics that kept me playing for a while. The game feels satisfying and the art style is pretty.

For some reason I was never making enough money to buy a joker card (other than the first round), I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong. nice work!

jacky-san 2025-04-11 17:08

Simple & addictive game :)

juutis 2025-04-11 17:13

This is a nice base for an idle game. Unfortunately currently there's very little choices to make: usually you just put the workers into the single place where they can go and then watch them churn away. Also, in some levels it felt like there was so much initial equipment that all I needed to do was to assign everything to the main objective and that's it. The mining speed seemed to cap at some value (maybe framerate-dependent?) so there was also no point in trying to increase the speed anymore after a certain point.

cure 2025-04-11 18:01

Hey, I played your game on my stream, here is a timestamp for the video on YouTube: `https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uvsTk0plS4&t=0s`

ryrumeli 2025-04-12 05:49

It is one of the few games here where I truly felt the lack of sound here. It feels like playing a game that feels complete, in mute.

It is clear you used AI art throughout(not throwing shade or anything), it feels cohesive. It does show you did have a clear direction in mind while you picked your assets, and it is clear they follow a specific design. The gameplay here is engaging, and this comes from someone that usually grows bored of most idle games, I did play all the end here and don't regret mining the core of earth itself for my demonic overlords!

thomas-higgins 2025-04-12 08:10

Groovy simple little game about digging to the depths of hell I enjoyed it!

leorean 2025-04-12 14:26

Great take on an idle game! This concept definitely has potential - I invested much more time into playing than I'd like to admit !

mibi88 2025-04-12 16:14

A quite good entry! The graphics are inconsistent, it was fun on the beginning but it got boring at some point. It was also a bit frustrating to loose the progress from one round to the other.

aleksey4adoff 2025-04-13 10:54

I like this Art! I happened to see a preview of your kitsch game, and after opening the page, I realized that it also needs to be evaluated!

alvaron 2025-04-15 17:33

Thanks for sharing this game and being in my stream!

Loved it! Hope you continue with this!

ditam 2025-04-15 22:39

I liked the way the theme was incorporated. Like some other commenters pointed out, it's kind of refreshing to see an idler game that's broken up into levels, that really helps with the monotony of the genre. So a cool idea!

Some basic sounds would do this a huge service, I kept thinking that something's broken on my end - because a game that looks this polished visually _has to_ have sounds! Heh.

olddog 2025-04-16 13:29

this game is so good!!!!I spent a lot of time on this one,I cant believe those content was made in such a short time~~~~~~very nice game art, really enjony~~

oeuegha 2025-04-16 23:47

Played in it cuz of art and cover - they look gud. But I don't like it, there is no gameplay, just few click menus, where you don't need to think about managing resources. In that type games you need to, at least, two type of characteristics for each unit, with their pros and cons. Unfortunately, there is no needs for a managment, cuz you don't have any limits, which let you optimize ur strategy, and there no strategy at all.

cataclysmicknight 2025-04-17 01:24

This was a little confusing at first but I quickly figured it out: you generate the shovel dude who is typically used to hire jackhammer dude, and jackhammer dude is used to hire whatever other unit, which then works the job! There was a lot of work done to mix that up, and it was hilarious you even hire denizens of hell to work for you 🤣🤣🤣

I also like how the different machines are used in different levels, like a driller does no good when excavating lava!

I do wish the money was more useful: I didn't have enough early on to buy jokers and after a few missions I could easily buy all of the jokers, which didn't do much to help anyway. Maybe buying some permanent unlocks or something? But then I worry I'd buy the wrong ones and screw everything up 😅

But I understand that making SO many levels, setting all the art up, and all the AI and stuff is massively time consuming 😮 Nicely done, I really like idle/incremental games and I really liked this one too :D

perrin 2025-04-17 15:43

I do like a good idle game but I was a bit disappointed I didn't feel like I had many or almost any choices to make.

whateverdat 2025-04-20 16:08

That was nice! I don't know why some people thought the theme was off... I mean it's literally a game about digging deeper and deeper lol

One small thing though, I think it would be better if managing units didn't stop the game. A system like purchasing in adventure capitalist, if that makes sense...

binaryprinciple 2025-04-24 04:13

Is my first time playing an iddle game, but I enjoy resource management. I see you mentioned that due to time sound could not be added, I had the same issue, so I break it down to the less sounds I need and use pitch to gain more from them. The video you made helps, but I tutorial level would be nicer.
