Love PC exploration games!! Made it to the first deleted file reveal so far -- omg that video got me curious for more. Nice art and setup!

slow-chaz 2025-04-07 22:36

love the folder concept, art is great too

based-on-life 2025-04-07 22:36

Love the exploration, videos feel really unique, love the take on "depths" being diving into folders

mahc 2025-04-07 22:37

I got as far as unlocking the company file and got stuck. Hints would be cool! Great atmosphere

akkadion 2025-04-08 00:29

@mahc yeah we are realizing we made a not so obvious mechanic on some files, we will try to make it more intuitive these next few days, for now you might want to check somewhere you thought was empty or that has BIN empty not so long ago ;)

maybeagoose 2025-04-08 02:00

Great game, I love this)

gold-daniel 2025-04-08 03:21

Just completed the game! Fantastic entry, quite involved and long for a jam game, a 10 person team always helps ;). Good story, art and audio. Very very immersive and creative. Some puzzles may have taken me longer than they should have. Love this one so much!

Maybe having the list of files you just unlocked be more persistent? Like sticky notes, I kept asking myself "what files did I just get access to" when I was stuck for a bit.

willby 2025-04-08 03:23

My that locked file sound is loud!! There is a surprising amount of features to round out this computer experience. It's so satisfying to figure out what a passcode is. Though it is also quite difficult. The videos are really nice. I got down to 3 locked files but I couldn't think of what would come next.

chloew 2025-04-08 03:53

Got stuck on three files!! Found the hidden video but still couldn't figure out the password... Very fun. Had a wonderful time. EDIT: I did it :D Very rewarding.

paragonraptors 2025-04-08 06:25

Got stuck after accessing the first binned file, but I still really liked this! The atmosphere is excellent and the inclusion of the videos is seriously impressive.

morepixels 2025-04-08 07:48

Very good game, but I got stuck on the last 3 locked files. Any hints (not outright spoilers) would be GREATLY appareciated! Pleaseee it seems so cool!

levi-kingma 2025-04-08 07:53

The fact you got these visuals and mechanics done in the given time is a real testament to skill, nice job!

plidomo 2025-04-08 09:30

Really like the writing on this - finding hints within video is a cool concept too. Got stuck with three files in the [ L O C K E D ] folder, after getting the binned file. Want to know how it ends!

akkadion 2025-04-08 12:22

@morepixels @plidomo Thank you so much lol. If you have 3 locked files, maybe you didn't have something to eat yet. Some say good food and poetry often go well together. I personally don't like it, nothing means never what it seems.

If it's still too vague don't worry, the ending is supposed to be kinda hard (but I heard the ending is SUPER rewarding :eyes:) but if you aren't sure how to find the answer, you should probably try to remember which were the last files you unlocked, and at least one of them should contain a key aspect of your next step.

Thank you again for playing, please let me know if you get to see the end! (PS: the [[DELETED]] file is by far the hardest, its a password kinda different from the rest)

aniretti 2025-04-08 15:02

cool artsyle and concept! i got stuck at the restaurant.. found binned file but still can't move on. as many said, it would be great, if we have some hints

sofia-miglan 2025-04-08 16:10

I love puzzles with files, the theme of depth is interesting. The very description of the game is intriguing. The art is beautiful, I liked it, it's very pleasant

nyxkn 2025-04-08 16:28

This game is so gripping! I've been stuck not being able to unlock [DELETED] or HIM(1) for the last 15 minutes. Can I get a hint? I NEED TO SEE THIS THROUGH. Art is great, and the music is excellent and fits the mood so well. Overall amazing atmosphere and story/writing is top notch. Please help me get to the end so I can move on with my life :D

akkadion 2025-04-08 16:52

@nyxkn Thanks for playing! It feels so weird having to give so many hints through the comments without actually giving the answer, we definitly slipped up on the difficulty towards the end lol.

I can tell you [[DELETED]]' password IS NOT A WORD. And just like restaurant.locked, it requires more than one file to actually figure it out. If its still too hard, maybe something someone left behind may help? Lots of weird files on that PC, even more the ones that were deleted...

Thank you again. Please let us know if you manage to see the ending! The artists went all out for the animations and I'm feeling kinda bummed few people are getting to see them all lol.

xpoho 2025-04-08 17:33

Very nice game, videos just adorable! But unfortunately i couldn't go further from three locks... Sorry mam, i am stupid =\

pigeon-dp 2025-04-08 20:01

Great, deep game. Unfortunately I gave up with 3 files to unlock :/ Super project though!

mysteriousjuice 2025-04-08 20:49

You guys absolutely COOKED, there is nothing I can say that hasn´t already been said! Huge respect!

indiealesha 2025-04-08 20:50

Didn't immediately understand what to do in the game, but the art is beautiful and the concept is interesting. Good job!

koolruz 2025-04-08 20:52

I'm also super stuck at the last two files - I had to come into the comments already to get a hint to look in the bin For feedback on why the recycling bin was so hard for me, the bin was the first thing I checked when I started, then when it was empty I never went back to it, especially because it always had the "empty" icon - Changing the icon to represent that it had files in it definitely would have made it more intuitive that I ought to look there again

It's also tricky that the files require a specific password to progress, because I've typed permutations of the correct answer for previous locks (adding a space where the game didn't expect one, for example); I'm not sure if I just got unlucky and hit the one case that you missed, but it would help to be more forgiving if the player has the right idea, and ignore any spaces/capitalization in the passwords they type. As it is, I've been re-typing every permutation of what I think the correct three-word answer might be, and coming up blank, and I'm not sure if I'm totally off-base, typing it into the wrong file, or if I am using incorrect punctuation :(

Edit: It turns out I did in fact need to change up the permutations of punctuation that I had. I am now just down to HIM(1).lock :)

koolruz 2025-04-08 21:12

I finally finished the game :) Starting a separate post with my final thoughts now that I've seen it through. Hopefully running through my thought process might help you know how/why the difficulty seemed like it spiked at the end! I'm going to try to keep it spoiler-light in case anyone is reading the comments, but there will definitely be some spoilers.

Up until the recycling bin, everything felt approachably difficult - Each puzzle only took a minute or two, and felt rewarding to solve. Once I had to go into the recycling bin, that was when the difficulty felt like it really spiked. I'd already mentioned the issue that I had with finding a file in the recycling bin, and then the issue that I had with adding spaces in the dry cleaner's name.

On the last two files, it was really unclear to me which one I was supposed to be trying to open next - Either filename was very vague, and either one felt like it could have been the conclusive finale, and thus either one could come next, especially because there was no link between the clues you found and the filename, unlike the other puzzles. That left me thinking it was either going to end on HIM(1), because it was the title of the game, or DELETED because it was such a tantalizing hook, and I chose incorrectly. I was typing every permutation of into HIM(1), and started doubting myself on what the animal mask the clue was looking for, so I then started looking back at the footage and then typing every permutation of animal masks that I saw as well as every permutation of punctuation. Finally, I realized I might be trying to open the wrong file, and then after even more typing, I realized it was a *dog*, and not a *wolf* on the mask 😵

Once I got to the last clue, after all my misadventures with typing almost-correct answers, I tried every permutation of "Eleanor", "Eleanor M", "EleanorM", "Eleanor M.", and "EleanorM." before finally moving on to other possible answers, which also made it a more frustrating final clue than was probably intended.

Finally, as one quality-of-life change, it would have been really nice if your focus returned to the textbox after typing in a wrong answer (or even just when opening a file), because I had to move my hand back and forth from my keyboard to the mouse so often while trying to find the correct answers 😅

Hopefully this doesn't come across as negative feedback, because I absolutely don't intend it that way! I was playing for so long (~30-45 minutes total) because I was drawn in by the art, atmosphere, and ambience, and I have so many opinions because it kept me engaged for so long! Overall, really well done!

dywanix 2025-04-08 21:32

very cool and fun 2 play idea

mathieu-chougui 2025-04-08 21:43

Love this kind of investigation games, even more with a PC interface! And it's very well executed. The last files may be a bit hard though, but maybe that's on me

Good work and thanks fo the upload :)

akkadion 2025-04-08 22:04

@koolruz Thank you so much for finishing it despite all lol. Its really good feedback. As you might guess, we ended up a little overscoped (surprising, I know) and quite honestly neglected the whole progression aspect after the first day. We were so focused on wether we would arrive on time that we didn't even stop and question it again during the process. Thanks for taking the time to write your full thoughts, we really appreciate it :)

ln404 2025-04-09 01:23

nice visuals and fun puzzles! great work!

nyxkn 2025-04-09 07:14

OK I FINISHED IT. I had the right idea all along but all the animals I tried were NOT the right one. Opening the last file was amazing. You sort of knew what was coming as soon as you saw the names of the unlocked files :D And the ENDING ending was also a brilliant idea but somehow it didn't hit as powerfully. Anyway, thanks for the experience my friends. I know it's hard to set the difficulty right for these things. All best!

logan-core 2025-04-09 09:05

I'm hard stuck trying to find the passwords for the deleted, him, and restaurant files. Not sure where to go from here. I'm almost convinced I've entered the correct password but with incorrect capitalization or spaces. I really wanna see how this game ends! Would love some more hints or even just getting the answer directly! Congratulations on the submission! I hope to finish it soon!

texugo 2025-04-09 11:56

I'm so dumb, please help 😔 I absolutely love the art, the ideia and everything about it, but it seems my brain is as smooth as a chicken breast and I can't even figure out the first clue

ryrumeli 2025-04-09 13:42

I managed to also finish it. I second what was written here, the specifics of identifying the animal was an issue, and things in regards to spaces. If the detection of strings for the passwords was as agonistic to spaces as it is about caps, maybe it would make things flow much nicer.

Honestly I second the ending comment, it was an interesting way to end it all, but maybe a cue in audio or something giving more hint, or a facial expression! Ugh, so unfair!

Seriously loved the things you guys did, it was fun and engaging and very well written, it was definitely an enjoyable all the way, I spent more time than I would like to admit engaged in this puzzle. Just further proof that checking your girlfriend's PC is not alright!

akkadion 2025-04-09 15:41

@logan-core Thanks for playing. I 'd feel kinda weird spoiling it in the comments but I can try and give you more obvious hints. If you haven't yet, you should check the bin for deleted files.

The hardest is by far restaurant.locked, the hint for it is hidden in the poetry file. If its still confusing, the words CLEANSE and WASH talk about a certain place's name. I don't know if I'm giving it away, but just to be obvious: check the windows :eyes:

The [[DELETED]] should be easier if you take into account the feedback from other comments, so I'll try not to spoil that one for you. Please let us know if you finish it!

framboisedodue 2025-04-09 17:42

I absolutely loved it ! I love these kind of games in general and it was very nicely done ! Loved the animations too !

lipski 2025-04-09 19:21

Very nice game, I struggled a bit, but not too much, well done!

jona-scheidig 2025-04-10 00:08

I ADORED THIS GAME!!! Like honestly, I really really really really really really really really really really really really really love this game. This made me feel so weak and afraid, even tho Im in a safe surrounding, but the atmosphere and music gave this game so much tension. I have to admit, that I was so bad at finding out the restaurant password, that I needed some hints to solve it. It legit took me 40 min. to beat this game, but damn, was it good! Amazing job in every detail. Awesome story aswell.

PLEASE, do consider making a full release with these mechanics, because I'd love to play more!

fosf0 2025-04-10 01:03

@jona-scheidig Thank u so much for your comment, it really made us smile! 🥹❤️

hinamarina 2025-04-10 02:54

Super clever game! I really love how juicy the interface feels, the sound effects really contribute a lot to the overall vibe and the music is super atmosphereric. I really liked it overall, reminds me a lot of Her Story. Unfortunately, I've tried everything but couldn't get past the lil poem. But really liked what i saw. The small pixel art gifs for videos is SOO CLEVER. Its a really great entry! I would really give it another try later :)

tikotey 2025-04-10 18:56

I really liked it, the atmosphere of the game really becomes tense over time. I was able to finish the game, but I will also mention that it is not clear whether I need to put spaces or not. Great job overall!)

jepjoh2 2025-04-10 21:56

Really great story telling, and the battery/clock mechanic is fantastic for creating a sense of urgency late in the story. Music and the effects on it were excellent too

The only thing I didn't like was the consistency of the double click detection but it never became too annoying

agraffs 2025-04-10 22:45

Really really good game, love the concept. I wasn't able to finish it right at the moment. I can't find the second word for the [Delete] file's password. Only missing 2 files to open, that one and Him[1]. I'll try again later. All and all a really good entry. After having spent 30 mins on it, excepting anything to happen, the tension is so high have a hard time turning the light off right now. One of my fav's so far. GG!

oxnh 2025-04-11 00:47

Great story, visuals, and music. I liked how the music changed at some point as I got deeper. The music also reminded me a bit of some of the tracks from the steins gate vn if any of you guys played that. High tier complement because the steins gate vn has some tense ass moments and this game recreated that perfectly.

I think everything made sense eventually, but I found some of the hints misleading (poetry). Also the answer that poetry leads you to doesn't work with a space. But I won't re-iterate that criticism to much since many other people have already gave you guys detailed feedback for that.

Very nice game, one of the closest to a real game I played this jam.

510 2025-04-11 00:57

Well, that was really creepy! Nice take on the theme and cool pixel art. I would've loved to learn even more about the story.

I somehow got stuck for more than an hour on the restaurant one (the rest was pretty straightforward). I don't know if I'm crazy, but I'm pretty sure I entered the correct password as my first guess under different variations and failed. I then went into over-complicated combinations of words and clues (I even Googled some keywords and ended up reading about women beauty products, fearing it was something I didn't know not being a native English speaker xD). After looking for help in the comments, I went back to my first idea and it somehow worked when I entered different variations.

So, if anyone is reading this, do not use the space character in passwords. (I don't know about capitalization)

Anyway, good job! solid entry for the jam =)

kamuniaft 2025-04-11 17:45

That is incredibly well-done and catching! Complexity is overwhelming for me though.. I was trying to unlock last 2 files for almost an hour and at this point I'm just giving up ;( Anyway, I truly admire what you’ve done here!

juutis 2025-04-11 18:05

Wow, this was actually insanely good! The art was amazing and the atmosphere was so oppressive. The animations were absolutely gorgeous. Very fresh interpretation of the theme, as well! I also loved the little details like the clock getting synced with your system time and the sound icon in the system tray actually controlling the volume. I managed to beat the game with some tips from the comments. I completely agree with the above comments about the spaces in the passwords. Figuring out the correct permutation was very awkward at times.

broco 2025-04-12 02:45

Oh my... I spent soooo much time trying to get the answers! I love the idea! And the puzzles are very original. I just think there were some clues missing. It was really hard.

At first I got stuck on the restaurant password. There were so many options, because there are so many password files, I was testing every option on every file! I wish the progression was a little more step-by-step. Like having access only to the password files I need to complete on that step.

*******SPOILER ALERT FOR THE DELETED DOWN BELOW******** The second one that got me in trouble was the DELETED password. I understood what I had to do, but there were many options for every word, like I thought the animal was a Wolf, not a dog (I even thought it could be the dog's name Luna), Heart could also be love, red. Specially given that I was writing them with spaces between 😓. *******SPOILER OVER********

Last but not least, the last password, for HIM(1). I went through every file! I thought my name was anywhere, that there was some clue missing, I view every video again, I was there extremely stuck! Then I thought it could be Eleanor, Eleanor M., with the dot, without the dot, with space, without the space, was her lastname somewhere? is it part of the password? I EVEN STARTED COUNTING THE LETTER U ON THE PROS FILE (I got HIM from that same file, so I thought there was something related). When I realized what the password was I felt really stupid. I wish it was a little different. Maybe ask for my name at the start of the game and then have it be the final password. Or perhaps having a menu where you can see the username and have it be it!

Apart from that, I felt the text for the file names where a bit too small, It got my sight kinda tired, perhaps I'm a little too old 😅 Also would have loved to be able to keep files open! And decide to close the ones I had already checked!

Anyways, this game is great! It's simple, yet very well executed! The puzzles are very original! Loved the art, loved the story! The last revelation was great! I just felt the last animation felt a little short. Perhaps having the guys with animal masks behind, or her with the mask would have made a better ending!

Great entry guys! I hope you find the feedback useful! There's lot of potential for a longer release as well.

broco 2025-04-12 02:53

A little something else, I really didn't find the depth theme on the "depths of your loving girlfriend’s computer". You literally go as deep as a single folder. Perhaps it could be a deep mystery? But still...

Maybe unlocking folder with the passwords and getting deeper and deeper everytime would have been better, and also would have helped with the progression issue I mentioned earlier 😉

smugsman 2025-04-12 16:45

I knew this was worth it I LOVE IT I LOVE THIS GAME, I DONT GET ANYTHING BUT ALSO I KNOW EVERYTHING. THE GAME IS SO SO (I wanted to send a link of me playing the game here but the file broke :()

jag 2025-04-13 04:12

Fantastic game! I really enjoyed this. I think you nailed this jam entry! It's so close to absolute perfection. I think the main things stopping it from being pure perfection was that the password entry should filter out spaces the same way it filters out capital letters, and also the password entry should be focused automatically without having to click it. Also, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the animal was a wolf and not a dog haha, I think the first video with the rain outside of Loyalty threw all of us in the direction of wolf, because that animal looked so much like a wolf. And finally the last password... **SPOILER WARNING** I think it was a funny pun, but after you've played through the game full of interesting and smart puzzles, that last one was just a little too childish so it's just hard to guess because you wouldn't think it would be so silly haha. I think it was funny, but just wasn't fitting to be the style for the final password. Also I think I need an explanation of the ending a bit, I don't fully understand. Hopefully you can post it somewhere so I can make sense of it.

roroto-sic 2025-04-25 17:45

Took me a bit more than 1 hour to complete the game ! It was a lot of fun !! Restaurand.locked was so hard (i tried the good password but not with the correct capital/space and then i spend so many times for something else ^^"""). I thx the comment that give me the advice to retry the pw . The enigmas after, was in comparison so simple haha
