@WinterHunterGames Sorry I fixed it.
Well... now I know why text-based action shooters never took off! This game is tough... at least for me with my slow reaction time ;) My lack of skill aside, I think you did a great job smashing two incompatible genre into a working game. I would have loved to hear some sounds, but, other than that, well done!
@FussenKuh Thanks!
This is a very cool game !! I have never seen that kind of movement mechanic in video games before and I loved it! Very cool concecpt and game! Well done!
I lost! I won! I feel like I'm back in college with the very first video games. Everything old is new again, and this was a lot of fun. Thanks for the game.
Very cool idea, very hard and sometimes frustrating in a fight though. Keep up the good work.
That was way more fun than I expected, and very satisfying to finally win :D
Thanks for the game!
I enjoyed playing this, it's a pleasant yet heart-wrenching experience. One suggestion would be for the thrusters on the ship sprite to react to the commands you give, it would really portray your movement well when in the more monotonous spacey area.
Loved the graphics! This was really tough. A little slow too, but I guess it's a text game so not sure what I was expecting- lol. Congrats on the game, GG!
That was a fun little adventure.
Once I got the hang of this I really enjoyed it. Nice AI on the enemy fighters, I thought I could just blast past them but they got aligned with me and I had to go back to fight. You do feel kind of like a ship captain with this movement mechanic, although making it any more demanding would probably get frustrating to play.
Well, Really fun game
Thanks guys!
One of the better ones definitely. Surprisingly sleek incorporation of the idea. There isn't much to criticize really. Shortening the commands to one letter was one of the key strengths in this one.
I had real difficulty with the controls, but I'm just not good at typing XD Love the idea and execution, and the sort of "lore" it hints at.
Hahaha nice use of the theme :) The graphics are quite nice and the gameplay is fun, difficulty level is interesting haha the way the enemy is behaving is great, its not easy to code a working ai in a LD. Great work !
@Aarre Entertainment Thanks! I realized that typing the whole words would have been way too hard!
@Blinkenlights I made this game with hopes to build off of it, so I tried to include some potential lore elements. I plan to fork this and put normal controls with more depth.
@lavwa I'm glad you think the AI is good! It's never been my strength, this AI is basically just a state machine where it switches between different states depending on how the player acting.
Nicely done graphics and mechanics. fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire fire!
@Derek Volker Thank you!

I like the style! Keep making it!
This was really well done. Nice and short which is perfect for a jam game, but could also easily be expanded upon. I appreciate that you included shortcut commands too. ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
I really like this, a short but very nice and polished game! At the start I just tried to avoid the enemy ships, but couldn't ever get away. Surprisingly, turning around and shooting them wasn't a particularly difficult task, and I managed to make it to my blue planet. Controlling the ship after a while wasn't so hard either, especially given the 'stop' command - because I could just put in a huge number for movement and then steer the ship using big turns. If there wasn't a stop command, I'd definitely have to plan more, and maybe that would've made the game more difficult!
The only things I'd change really would be adding in sounds and music, making the background move (because you can't really tell how fast you're moving when there are no asteroids or enemies around) and also making it clear how much '1 turn' is. Personally I'd just use degrees as that is something most people are familiar with.
@Niker107 I actually thought of using degrees and I actually don't know why I didn't haha! I think I did whatever I did first then moved on because of time. Sound is something I need to learn, I have never been good with it.
Cool concept. I did like the "one-letter-cheat" instead of typing the whole words, it was quite useful :-) It was fun!
