Nice Work loved the artwork, maybe you could add different types of enemies in the future
I got 56, I mostly just stood still and attacked them when they landed on top of me, otherwise they would just kill me before the spikes could squish me lol. I like the game for how simple it is, with some smoothed out game mechanics (Maybe spawn them from the sides and occasionally the jump at you) this could be a fun little game. Awesome artwork too!
Yeah, maybe spawning enemy above player was a little bit irritating, so I changed it and now they spawns from the sides and some values to make game more balanced!
It's simple, it's quick, its OH GOD MY EARS. I was loving the cute menu when it launched, moving onto the game being pleased with the looks. It made me think of those youtube video's doing unity tutorials where you think "Oh I wish I could do this cute art style".
However what broke the immersion and mood for me was one of the squeek sounds. It was loud and rather unpleasant to listen to.
Over all a very cute game, good job! (just take out that squeek please)
Simple and quick gameplay.
I love the art, however it could use a bit more diversity in the enemies. The music was lovely, though there was a rather loud sound in game that made it hard to listen to.
Good job! :)
@dries-vuylsteke I know, these sounds are my nightmare right now ;-; but I'm fixing it now. I'm happy that you like my game <3
@dries-vuylsteke @machrom I'm really sorry for these loud sounds. I think it's unity webgl bug, because on windows built version it works fine for me. You can try again and say if this works.
Im happy that i played this game :)
@borys Yeah it's fine on the windows build. No loud sounds :D
I don't know why, but my windows didn't let me open the Game. If you know how to fix this and fixed it, hit me up, your game looks really nice and I'd like to play it.
If you have virus alert, let's expand it and there will be option "Run anyway". If it's something else I think I can't help too much :c
@c0nst4ntin
I tried again, and there was no this time... Anyway nice game, I like the artwork!
Loved the art style ! :) But I think the game need a little balancing because we love health inevetably even when spamming attack. If you jump on an ennemi, you can lie on them without being attacked and kill all of them easily. Nice entry anyway ! bug.png
@antoined73 Oh, you hackerman :DD I didn't know player can do this, I'll fix it anyway
I never found a reason to jump, but not bad, could be a fun little time waster
happy knight! haha you design the gameplay well, I really felt happy when I "shi shi shi" the enemies! I think that can be better if I can actually block/push with my shield!
Awesome art work and the scene transitions looked seamless, great work!
Sir triangleslayer on a rush! 59 (triangles was my record)
Some constructive feedback:
· Attacks didn't guarantee avoiding getting hit, so it felt a bit random.
· Maybe it was the point but as he's called happy knight I felt a quite defenseless and thus sad knight. Having a faster sword swing and having it reach longer would feel more fair and I would feel more empowered.
Overall fun entry! By the way, I am a bear too, and I made a game about a knight too. There must be some kind of conection there :yum:
Congrats on a cool little game! I really like the art style and your implementation of the theme is pretty neat. I ha fun slaying triangles, well done.
Pretty nice game overall, but there is also quite some room for improvements. First of all, I really like the art style and how all the menus have this bouncyness. The controls also work quite well. But the mechanics pretty much boiled down to spamming the left mouse button for me, jumping seemed a little pointless. Maybe if you allowed to keep the mouse button down to continuously attack (maybe even walk backwards while doing so), I think that could make the fighting more fun. Unfortunately the music didn't work :( And lastly: If you used Unity and upload to itch.io, why not provide a WebGL build (and Mac and Linux as well)? People love WebGL these days :) Overall, I enjoyed playing your game, good job!
why does everyone do mouse button for actions, put it on a key. It feels better
The Knight looks happy. Love the style. So i was happy to playing it. Cool gameXD
Love the style and the menu:) very solid work for compo, good job!
@erkberg I tried upload game with webgl build but it worked really badly. Sounds and music were very loud (too much loud) and it's probably a unity bug, because on windows build it works fine. By the way, Thank you for some advice and I'm happy you enjoyed playing my game :D
Liked the art style. Very good for your first Ludum Dare.
@robo-chiz This is my first compo, but i entered to ludum dare twice. Anyway thanks for good words :3
Fun, quick, crazy, great job!
I really like the graphics, very cute. The gameplay is simple yet fun but quickly gets mundane. One thing that would improve that is to make waves and introduce new enemies.
@sh1rogane that's a good idea, but I think I can't improve it now, cause to be honest it's a new feature and people can't add new features to ludum dare games :c Anyway, thanks for the kind words :3
A simple but effective gameplay. It's true that more enemies would have been good, but hey... compo is short! Good job !
Woo high score of 90! Really dug the simple gameplay, made for a fun little game. If you do take this project further I'd love to see a bit more depth to the gameplay. Once I figured out the basic system, I was able to defeat many of the triangles in a row without getting hit at all. Also I think it would be cool to have the walls come in much closer, even one at a time, to force the player to move around and really feel like they are running out of space! Really liked the art style, and I think this would make a great mobile game! Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Nifty little game :)
A lot of care has been put in the menus, looking very polished. The game itself plays fine, but it get's kinda boring after a while, because nothing changes. Spamming the button and turning left/right is all to do. Jump doesn't seem to have much use. Like others said, a bit more variation (jumping enemies? invincible enemy that must be avoided?) that requires the player to actually jump would probably make it more interesting. Still, well done!
Really small but effective game with cute art. I really like the menu and liked that you spent time on it, where most of the creators almost skip it.
One more rating. Very polished looking, the art style is amazing, the scene transition was awesome, I especially love that. The fighting was very fun, I spammed the mouse like crazy and ended up with 76 points. I think the indication to when I actually hit the enemy could be more emphasized so its more juicy, now it looks a bit insignificant. Also the side scrollers dont seem to come at me, I think they move a bit too slow. Those are very minor details that I think could make your game even more juicy that it is. Very solid entry, great work!!
@nam-nguyen Hi, I think I can change some values. So, enemies' movement and spawning are faster. Also I added attack by LMB and "K". I hope you'll like this update :D
@borys heyyy I think the enemies' speed was alright, just the wall closing in a bit slow
@nam-nguyen Oh ok, so I'll change it maybe tommorow, cause now I have no power to do this :///
Simple but pretty fun and the art is cute! Not completely sure how damage works as I would sometimes take damage from enemies even though I was facing them. Only taking damage from the back would make more sense.
A polished little gem with simple and functional gameplay. Great Job! :D
