Nothing is more depressing than dying capsules...
I survived 6 nights. Cool game, I liked it a lot! Also, the capsule asthetics were cool I think. The only downsides were that the game felt a bit unfair: I did everything I could do I think but just got overran eventually, and that the aim of my blobs was so bad was frustrating. I see a lot of potential in this game, would be very cool to see this extended!
I had fun with this! I thought the ability to find new survivors during foraging was a really cool idea, although I didn't like losing them to random events. Nice work!
@congusbongus I hear you...
@zettelkasten thanks for the feedback :) I may have gone overboard with the difficulty. In keeping with the theme, I wanted to ensure that you will always eventually die. But I think there are ways to do that without making it feel unfair...
@drumgadget-433 ya that is pretty brutal :) will definitely rethink that event if I decide to take this further.
Great game! Love it! No matter what I do however and even with figuring out that I can move my guys in shelter and maxing out my shooting stats - I couldnt survive past the 6th night :/ I also see from comments that you could find other people, but I never managed to have that event, unfortunately. It would be great if you would develop it with ability and events to meet other groups, hire or gather more capsule humans and maybe expand your shelter in the future? That would be really dope! Love the simple aesthetics of it + audio and mechanics are phenomenal! I think its my favorite game in this jam so far and its like the 35th Ive rated so far? Great work, keep it up! :D
Thanks very much @janku ! Great suggestions, I have lots of other ideas for this as well. I think the first thing I would do if I had more time would be rethink the events for gaining/losing people.
The banging was pretty creepy.
Good game! The art could be improved, but gameplay loop is solid
Lot of potential. Seems like it'd be easy to expand this to add additional mechanics pretty easily. Nice one
Huh, I only found out through the comments that foraging can make you lose/gain people. Reminds me a bit of Faster Than Light in its combination of strategic decisions + real-time action. Maybe having more upgrade dimensions/decisions you can take during daylight would help replayability.
Nice game! I managed to survive 4 nights.
@iamwave FTL is one of my favourite games of all time :) definitely an influence there
A simple game but actually kinda fun. I made it to the 11th night. Wouldn't mind playing more if the RNG felt more manageable. Its really frustrating to watch your players miss a zombie 10 times in a row. I think it would be less frustrating if the zombies moved a little faster with better accuracy so that you don't have to watch them miss everything. Weapon upgrades would be amazing or an option to increase damage.
Losing someone to foraging is devestating but you don't really have a choice to forage or not which can also feel a bit frustrating. Maybe display the odds of gaining or losing someone and change it based on how many people you already have?
I think a more interesting shape for a building could be cool so you have more strategy in moving your players around. Some random variation in the sounds would be appreciated :P
nice little game! feels bad when your top shooter disappears on a foraging trip but I guess that's just life in the zombie apocalypse
Nice video and sound effects win02.png
Game is cool and I like the concept, but the rng got a bit annoying when I got really unlucky. The graphics are simple, but they work well. I also really like choosing tasks during the day and the bits of narrative.
Pretty cool, I survived 9 nights. Got pretty unlucky with getting new survivors :/
Very nice! It's pretty simple but polished. I miss this type of game!
Nice concept, I think a post jam version with more management elements and the like would be really fun. As it is now it's still not bad, but it did feel a bit luck driven and the aim of my survivors seemed to be somewhat off. It seems like they get less accurate the closer enemies are (maybe they are targetting the wrong point? I'm not really a Unity expert). Still I thought it was a cool blend of time-based management and real-time survival so overall good job.
@baconinvader thanks for the feedback.
Regarding the accuracy, there's a set chance to miss on every shot, if a "miss" is rolled, the shot goes 1m to the side of the target.
The chance to hit is independent of how far away the target is, which is not intuitive at all, and looks kind of janky when the target is right in front of the shooter :joy:
If I pursue this further, I'll change it so that each shot goes out at a random angle within a "cone" from the shooter. The accuracy attribute would then set how narrow this cone is.
