I hope you take pleasure playing this game. In state, it's "just" a prototype, because due to lack of "polishs" and selectable options. I should continue this project.

billeclipse 2017-12-05 05:01

Really great game! Keep it up, i can't wait to see it as a full game one day :D I loved it from the time lapse you uploaded and now playing it i believe it can really be a great full game :D

bismark 2017-12-05 11:08

Thanks for your comment ... i'am already thinking the next steps to develop it. :-)

I really liked the idea of the game, I had some difficulties to understand what each machines does (and if I understood correctly you have to disable things to earn energy ?)

bismark 2017-12-05 14:50

Yes, if you switch on a specific type of machine, it produces O2, but consumes energy and produces "some bad things" (:-o), another machine simply produces energy but also "bad things" (what a mess ;-), and another reduces those "bad things" but consumes more energy (ggrrrrr... :-)

You can switch off some machines to reduce their unwanted production or their unwanted consumption.

But explorers can't be "switched off" : they always need O2 and produces CO2 !

Also, more you discover new rooms in the station to find the artifact, more explorers enter into it !

PS : sorry, i found a bug, and i shall fix it as soon as possible : if you discover a room in which a machine is already switched on but you are no more energy, this machine doesn't switch off it self automaticly !

rixium 2017-12-05 14:56

Keep going with the game, pretty cool. Shame there's no music and sound. Found the artefact but everyone was dead. :(

bismark 2017-12-05 15:06

Thank you, @rixium. Not enough time to do better graphism, and to add music and sound. It's should be added in the next version :-)

bismark 2017-12-05 16:18

Bug fixed : when the player is discovering a new room in which a machine is already switched on, and no more energy is avalaible, this machine doesn’t switch off it self automaticly. Added the HTML5 (WebGL) playing game in links.

Nice one, finished it.

akusan 2017-12-05 17:36

Very interesting concept you have there. Too bad there's no sounds. But good job, A+ on creativity!

elodeon 2017-12-07 02:21

I had a lot of fun exploring, even if I couldn't quite figure out what machines affected what. I hope you keep working on it!

bismark 2017-12-07 02:26

Thank you @holyblackayn, @akusan and @elodeon. I really want to continue its development.

team-infernus 2017-12-07 02:55

The artifact was in the second room I went into, so I beat it pretty quickly lol. Looks like it could be a lot of fun as a full game! Opening doors takes a bit too long for my tastes, but maybe I'm just impatient :D

bismark 2017-12-07 12:10

Thank you @team-infernus. With "returns" of player feelings and experiences, the durations of all actions must be quickly tweaked.

charlez245 2017-12-07 13:10

The game mechanics seemed to work well together and it's a nice exploration-type game. I know it's already been mentioned, but I found the door opening times to be too long.

bismark 2017-12-07 13:25

Thank you @charlez245. I think to go tweak the opening door times, thus.

bismark 2017-12-07 16:23

Updated version allowing player tweaks the difficulty of the game : use "expected difficulty" slider in main menu. Progress bar added during "long" action. Also, some other minor updates about lighting, display of message texts.

chriiis88 2017-12-07 17:39

I quite like the concept and I think this could be a fun game, but so far pressing left/right and space and then waiting an eternity for the two waiting bars to fill is not very fun. Some interesting encounters in the rooms might make this more interesting.

adsilcott 2017-12-08 05:20

I really enjoyed the sense of exploration in this game. The graphics really help set the mood. I died right as I found the artifact, but it was fun!

bismark 2017-12-08 11:28

At @chriiis88, you are right in part : it was planned initially some additional interactions.

But, due to the "short time" of Ludum Dare, i had to reduce the features developed, and the progress bar has become a visual simplification of interactions that the player must achieve in order to access new rooms or activate objects.

The gameplay has refocused on the exploration and choice between the discovery of new rooms to reach the artifact, activation/deactivation of machines ensuring the survival of the exploration team, and backtracks to change the state of machines already discovered.

The player must focus either on a balance of forces influencing the survival parameters, sometimes on a "race against time" to fulfill the purpose of the mission.

At @adsilcott, thank you for your comments, and great job with your team for the "Will of the Wisps" :-)

lamossus 2017-12-08 20:29

Great job, I really liked the idea! It's way too easy at the moment tho, even on max difficulty it's easy to just go straight for artifact without caring about recources too much, which basically ruins main game mechanics. Also, the robot is waaay too slow, every action takes unnecesarrily long time. If you're planning on making full game I recommend you to make robot faster and add an option to control discovered machines remotly (at least at some short distance), so the game would feel more dynamic.
