A pretty good game for a 48 hour jam, what I like about this game is the subject that the dev decided to use, one of the most complicated diseases of our time, it is really cool to see a game talking about this, even if it is in a subtle way. The best thing besides that is the art animation, really well done, overall the game has some small bugs but it is a good game, an amazing job to do alone in 48 hours, congratulations.
**Pros:** The artwork and animation conveys a sense of anxiety.
**Cons:** Bugs (getting stuck on the side of the platform), movement feels weird.
Next game, focus on completing and polishing gameplay before making the artwork and animations. Not bad for a first game, keep making more!

Very good bones! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz5gIdXHSCQ
Interesting subject matter you've decided to pursue.
Interesting way of using the theme. I liked it.
Also, to fix the bug of people getting stuck in the platform, just add a new physics material with 0 on bounciness and 0 on friction.
:)
the animation has personality, it seems to me though that the more items you get, the more platforms appear and hence, it gets easier, not sure if that was the intention. I would also like to see more of that hand made art in other elements of game like platforms and scenario.

@filipe-leal Thanks for playing and for the advice!

@velvetlobster It wasn't my intention at all! And I wish I could draw the scenario but I didn't have enough time :P
Thanks for playing!
Wow this is my first LD too! Platforms were a little hard to see. Very innovative though, well, I'm just glad its not another shoot the enemies that are spawning game haha. I like the endless runner concept. I was going for a endless capability in my game aswell.

The game does convey a feeling of inevitability and struggle, although it also impacts on how enjoyable interacting with the game is (i.e. jumping around!). Congratulations on your first game, hope it is the first of many.
For your first LD, this is pretty good. Solid work on the walking animation. Theme works well with the game
One tip I can give you is to try to give some sort of audio feedback when you get an item. Because it's very quiet so it feels a bit disconnected from the game reality.
Also, Try to balance out your sound volumes, the game over screen is very loud compared to the room volume. Since
Next up is not an error or a bug, but a recommendation: try to keep the song looping, so that even when you hit the restart button, you get to hear the music. Because I like how the music sounds but I only get to hear a few seconds of it before I restart.
Overall, solid work, this game is well done for your first Ludum Dare! :)
It's a platformer game so nailing down the controls and character movement a little bit better would have helped enormously. Still, a solid start for your LD career :)

@edword @tiberiusuciu @antti-tiihonen
Thanks for playing and for feedbacking!
Alright, you get a lot of bonus points for going in and tackling a serious topic. Not a lot of people do that in games! That being said, the actual mechanics could use a lot of work. The biggest problem by far over here is the jump. I'm assuming it was done using the Unity rigidbody2D physics. Messing around with the gravity and angular drag on your player character to make the jump more responsive would be a huge step up. The graphics weren't bad!

@georgebgreen Exactly, I used rigidbody2D physics, I've messed with it before, but it is the first time that I use it in game.
Btw, you can check the source code on github! And thanks for the advice!
Cool concept ! But this guy is soo anxious that he manages to run while he is in the air xD Cool game though x) I notice that you made a music, quite good moreover :)
Keep coding :)
First off, Congrats on submitting your first LD game! After reading the other comments I can agree with them about the controls. I would say the jumping felt kind of floaty, by that I mean it feels like your character doesn't have a lot of mass so they seem to float in the air before coming back to the ground. The art was great and your idea went very well with the theme.
First, welcome to Ludum Dare. Hope to see you come back next time. It does get a little easier each time.
While I enjoyed the art and audio, I felt that the game was pretty broken. As others have said, the character was very floaty. When you jump at the end of a platform, you land on a platform that is two platforms away and not even visible on the screen. That gives me a bit of anxiety not even being able to see where I am going to land. When it gets faster, it just makes the situation even worse as it is very difficult to judge where I will land when I can't even see it yet. I think this could be addressed in two ways. First, make the sprite about half the size it currently is if not even smaller. Do the same for the platforms. Second, don't have the player jump as high to remove the floaty aspect of it. These two things will allow the player to better judge their landing spot.
Good luck and I hope to see your entry for LD41!
Definitely an interesting use of the theme. I did like the facial expression on the character, but i do feel that the jump lasted too long in the air, so it was a bit too hard to land on the platform. Also, got stuck on the platform's edge quite a few times. Nice job!
Very originell game Idea, but it nearly unplayable because of the strange jump and collision behavior. I like the Idea nevertheless and the running man graphic and the soundtrack very pretty good, especially for a compo Entry. You might consider to opt out humor as a game about an illness, probably won't score to well. (At least if it has a serious approach) Great Game Keep it up.

You need to learn how to deal with anxiety, and there can be many ways to calm yourself. I think that anxiety destroys us, giving us no chance of a normal life. When I myself encountered the problem of anxiety, it confused me, it happened in the first months of a strict quarantine that isolated us all, not allowing us to get out. I was so worried about being locked up that I was almost suffocating and had to keep the Windows open all the time. But it was getting cold and I had to replace it with https://www.koalitymedicinals.com/, which kept me from panicking even better

I really like this game. I have to admit that you have a great metric. I would have envied you six months ago, because before, I couldn't finish the last mission in such a short time as you have. It upset me and made me anxious. I often calm myself with meditations, but this has not helped me much lately, so my sister advised me to buy kratom bulk from https://kratomgallery.com because after pregnancy she had terrible anxiety and she often faced a disgusting feeling that literally squeezed her chest morally. This remedy helped her and I started taking it as well. After a short time, I noticed the result, so I advise you to try it
