Nice job! Had a hard time getting to the employees in time to slap them.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD40 → Crunchtime, the revenge of feature creep: mo' monay mo' problems.

Nice job! Had a hard time getting to the employees in time to slap them.
Funny game, I like the humor, the font was a bit hard to read though. I like the pixel art style.
The game idea is cool, but needs some balancing, I found it way too difficult. I think you should either slow it way down, or you should be able to slap them by mouse clicking on them, so you don't have to walk to them.
It's even more fit to gamedev than "gamedev story" with this graphics!) Pushing developers - the only way to success) Idia, graphics and fun is 5 for sure!
font was kind of hard to read for me. otherwise nice, humerous idea :)
Pixel art and music were very good. The font was a bit complicated to read and I agree that it was a bit too quick. Loved the humor. Congrats!
Great pixel art. The game is a little bit confuse and the font is hard to read. But the idea and the game is good.
Very cool game ! i liked it and in pixel art ;) good music too gj !
Loved the graphics in this one! The idea was cool too, another font more readable would have been nice
Excellent idea for the theme of the jam! The game was strange though, I was not sure when to slap the people. So I ended up slapping them all the time. My company went broke after the third game. So in hindsight I should have been more loving.
Good short story, my biggest beef tho is that the font is a bit of a strain to read for me.
Nice game, I like the humor, however I had a hard time understanding how it was working.
Anyway, good job!
Cool art, the gameplay is a little confusing. I like the music too, it reminded me of wonder boy.
I love art style and music, but gameplay was a little bit confusing at first and there is a too long distance between workers. Anyway nice entry!
Love the aesthetics -- the cube-y people and elevator music-style tunes. I can't say I really understood much of what I was doing, but I enjoyed slapping anyone! I didn't always slap who I wanted to when they were next to each other though, maybe a rectangle should show up where you're going to slap? I don't know.
Also, I got an error when I shipped the second time! -- Employee.lua 190: attempt to index global 'newEmployee' (a nil value) -- I'm a real gamedev now!
Thanks @fluidvolt I thought we'd fixed that bug but I guess not. Also the game could've definitely used more polish and balancing. Thanks again!
@fluidvolt Actually its a new bug to do with slapping people so much they leave, you monster. Thanks for the debug though
Fun entry there! Slapping to get the bad ideas out was nice, but not really sure how that fit the theme actually. One thing that would have been a nice is a more readable font, moreover with that much text from the beginning, it makes it a bit hardcore. Otherwise that was cool a little experience. :)
I guess I will just echo what has already been said, the pixel art was fun. The idea was definitely worth exploring and could be expanded upon, but the font was really hard to read (in game, tutorial is was alright).
I couldn't figure out what was going on. The tutorial was long and just made me more confused, and sitting through it every time I had to start over was a pain. Waling around felt awkward. That said, music was nice, art was good. I recommend making everything as clear and concise to the player as possible.
I love the concept of the game, good play setup and sound. But every game released earned zero money, and had a zero rating on IGN. The progress bar always decreases with only small increases no matter what. Really want to get into this game more but feels like I'm missing something?
@michaelsonbritt Basically our money system in Revenge of Feature Creep is linked to the review score, you get 1 star for a completely finished game and the rest is from the ideas that get through. If an idea is bad (or in a different genre and risky) then you lose score, if you have risky ideas (or good in a different genre) then there is a 50/50 chance it count as very good or bad, and a good idea in your chosen genre increases your score. That is our in depth tips and tricks. Also your game is really good.
Finally I understand the game mechanic! My understanding: The green bar reduces to indicate progress. When it reaches zero the game is safe to ship. It increases when employees get ideas, slowing down production (opposite of Game Dev Story) and the concept is they're introducing feature creep; the game might be better but it's slower to ship. Hitting crunch mode eliminates all ideas so the green bar ticks down steadily afterwards. In the first level, the yellow and green move down almost equal speed, so you need to hit crunch mode almost as soon as the level starts. After you've made some money, it's much easier. You can let employees have a few good ideas to boost ratings, while slapping away bad ideas, and you don't need to hit crunch mode as quickly.
I noticed only first three employees ever provide ideas. Is that a bug?
The graphics were charming and the music was a good fit, but I found the font very difficult to read. Switching to 1.5 line spacing might help. Interesting view of the theme - although I'm glad that my boss doesn't slap me around the head when I raise another ticket.
@michaelsonbritt That certainly sounds like a bug, thanks for point it out!
Nice idea! I had a great time while playing and it was really funny. Also, I liked the pixel art and audio.
About the problems I've found, I think it's nothing new for you. Probably the worst part was the difficulty; too hard for me. Specially to get in time for slapping an employee. The font is not so readable. And I confirm that only the first three employees provide ideas.
But overall, I enjoyed your game a lot. Congratulations!
@juancarlosgdm Thank you for the feedback. I think I've identified the problem with the three employees, thank you for pointing that out.
fun game, but... this unreadable font causes bleeding from my eyes
I didn't mind the font, I really liked the idea behind the game and the use of the theme, but it was really difficult to get round to the employees to slap them. I'm guessing the themes were placeholder? The determining what was good and what was bad confused me, when they say FPS good and it's an FPS then I want those ideas? The art style and super repetitive music was awesome, I just wish it was easier to get to the employees.
I liked the concept and the art was good, just found it really tricky to move my guy around to get to them in time, never managed to make a game that made money though, just couldn't keep out the bad ideas i guess.
The beginning was hard to read but I liked the slapping! It was fun but also hard to manage. The pixel art was nice as well. Good work!
If you like play our game as well: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/nanonator
this was a good idea - but perhaps it was not quite finished - i found it hard to motivate employees without the game ending immediately - still i liked the graphics and the music was cool - i had fun - as is my right!
Interesting idea, but maybe that's not the good mechanics...
Maybe it could be more fun with mouse (click to slap)?
(but I'm not sure...)
Good audio.
