I might just be overlooking the obvious, but I had an issue figuring out how to get past the third area (I attached a picture). I wish I didn't have this problem though, because this is a game I would like to play to completion. Hopefully you'll tell me what I'm doing wrong so I can get back to it. Wish you had some audio, but the graphics are really great for the time you had to do them. I hope you continue to run with this project.

This is a cute litte game! I like the graphics a lot. It took me a few minutes to figure out the mechanics though

That rly feels like "Made in abyss"
I got stuck lvl 2 and trust me I tried going everywhere I think the meter is bugged cuz it only goes halfway? if there is a way it is very hard, i had easier time figuring out bosses in darksouls.
there is no sounds nothing, feels unfinished

@threeli There's supposed to be a mushroom there that lets you survive the jump up that wall. There's a bug where sometimes it doesn't respawn if you died and then landed onto the mushroom during the death animation. The only thing you can do here is double jump to die, and then the mushroom should respawn again. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for playing!

The pixel art in this is amazing! It was an interesting mechanic, and it really got me thinking ahead to try and plan out a route. Like the poster above, I also got stuck at a certain point and couldn't figure out how to escape without restarting, but when I did I got it right the second time haha.
Really interesting concept, and impressive entry :)

@mero Made in Abyss was an inspiration :) In level 2, if you eat a mushroom the meter fills completely which lets you gain more altitude later. We probably could have found a better way to present this. Sound would have been great to have! Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

this was super fun one of my favourites of the jam so far. There did seem to be a bug where if you collected a mushroom as you died you'd get the "mushroom power" and the mushroom would despawn when you respawned which meant restarting a second time to start with the level in a fully reset state.

Really nice mechanic that you used here, the blow of oxygen loss on the rising phase of a jump, makes the game really more complex than it seems. (The last level hurt my wrist) Graphically I love the style (and character, whith funny death animation, is so cool).
Very nice job to you, congratulations
(also, I found a minor bug (I think), I managed to collect a mushroom after a death, which made me reappear at the start of the level with my gauge full.)

@daaweed Thank you for the kind words! We have a fix for the 'eating mushroom while dead' bug but we're thinking to wait until the LD48 rating period is over before uploading it.

An interesting concept, good job!
Nice job! Like those above said, I really like the idea here. It is cool to have your health tied to going up/down. I was a little confused how it worked exactly since sometimes the same jump would kill me where it didnt before. And like others said I got stuck at that same point where my double jump didnt seem high enough to get me over the wall. But overall I love the art and the Spelunky vibes. Great job!

This game looks really nice! It's really good design, you can easily recognize what is what. The mechanics is cool. The only thing a bit too challenging for me was that you can die too easily :) I stuck at some point, the only way I could reach the mushroom was when I was already dead :) and later I had not enough energy to climb the wall. Good job!! Congrats!
It looks good and the mechanic is very interesting.
However, I wasn't able to beat level 3. I think it needs to be a bit more forgiving so you are not required to find the exact right path.

I love the graphics but the gameplay was really confusing to me at first without any instructions. I didn't really understand what was happening and I thought that I was getting hurt by the stalactites, before I realized that jumping hurts you.
I'm not sure I really enjoy this kind of gameplay, but I think some form of instructions could help ease in the player so they don't get a poor first impression like I did. I also ended up getting stuck in an infinite death loop at level 3 because my health was too low to reach the mushroom.
Really love the style. Made it a ways in, without fully understanding how to properly use the jump bar. Still, it was fun and something totally different.

Interesting innovative gameplay! Nice graphics and animations.
Some remarks: 1. Game lacks of audial feedback. Expectation: game gives feedback using sound effects and music supports mood. 2. Game lacks of explanation of why do character explodes after jumping. Expectation: game contains some explanation of this, e.g. specific character or story.

Cool game idea! Art is nice and idea of jumping being risky is cool. But needs to be worked on to make it actually fun to play. I actually forgot to double jump as with my first jump I exploded and got scared xD.
Interesting idea! Making careful precise jumps might not be the best implementation, I wonder if having a fixed-height short jump and more controlled climbing mechanics would execute it better. Art style and assets are good.
