LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Ultimate Mushroom Damocles Revenger by Snowirbis 2022-04-15T18:31:45Z

Very cool game overall! The music is awesome!! The 3D art style is really cool too, but I kinda wish you had made the entire game in the 2D art style you used for the menus and credits. Those 2D mushroom characters are soo cool!!! I had a bit of an issue with the hitboxes for the knives (they seemed a little unforgiving), but managed to beat the game in the end. Either way great entry overall!

This is a really cute concept and just great overall! I managed to survive for 72 secs!!

The art is fantastic and feels really well polished! I love the detail in the dog's eyes (the extra bit of reflection is super cute)! The worm popping out of the ground to give you the jump boost is also a really nice touch. The controls felt good, but I think it would have been nice to have a bit more control of your jump height, so you don't feel forced to move backwards towards the dog to compensate for a poorly timed jump. Either way, this was excellent! Great work guys!!

The art style is absolutely beautiful and the music fits the mood perfectly! I especially liked the intro and the detail put into the background! I was a little disappointed to see the seam in the background once I made it far enough for the background to repeat, but that's just me nit-picking and I'm guessing you didn't expect people to make it far enough to see that :)

I did find it a bit too easy mainly because I would just stay on one side of the screen and then shift to the other side when some luggage was about to hit me. One idea could be to not lock the player within the camera bounds, and if the player leaves the camera bounds they lose instantly. This way the player has to try to "balance" between left/right to stay on screen while avoiding the luggage.

That being said, I really enjoyed this and it was a solid entry overall!! Great work!!!

Asteroid Annihilator by SAD Studios 2022-04-18T18:18:50Z

@paul-nadan I'm glad you liked music, music is my main background so that part tends to be a bit easier for me :) And I was really proud of the 3D rotating effect we were able to achieve as well!

We had actually thought about making some of the powerups permanent at one point, but ultimately decided not to as it started to get too easy very quickly (I had a couple sessions when testing with permanent powerups that lasted over 20 min with no sense of difficulty increase!). Of course, we could have tried balancing the difficulty progression with the permanent powerups, but we just didn't have enough time for that. If we decide to take this game further, however, we'll definitely include some permanent powerups and many more powerups overall!

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you had fun playing!!

Mr. Second by Marvis 2022-04-16T21:48:14Z

Wow! This is definitely one of the most polished and unique entries I've seen soo far! Where to begin...

The artwork is all around remarkable! The overall style is really cool and very consistent. I absolutely love the character designs, animations, set pieces, backgrounds... well... really just all of it!!

The gameplay is definitely challenging and at times a little frustrating (there were many times where I would switch in mid air while jumping between platforms or switch directly into an enemy). As others have said, I think it would be nice if you could control when you switch to alleviate some frustration. All things considered though, the mechanic was unique, interesting, and most importantly fun!!

This was a very ambitious idea and you executed it very well!! I hope you decide to take this further with a full commercial release! You all should be really proud of yourselves for this one!!!

Great concept and execution. The dialogue was really funny. Great job overall!

Bear on Bear violence. Upgrade scaling made it hard to lose which eventually caused performance issues. Well done solid execution.

Special guests by 1257th or nothing 2023-10-14T22:57:31Z

Good concept to merge the different game assets. The colliders are a little frustrating got stuck in some and moved through some others. The audio could be a little more balanced. Music was hard to hear but was good.

The artwork and animations are really impressive. There were some really nice details like destroying the speaker and the nametag deteriorating over time. I did feel like the parallax effect was a little strong. Great work!!
