So much corn
Really cute and charming game! The character, environment, and particles all looked great! I felt some dissonance between enjoying the humor/environment with rushing to meet the timer. I think this game might be better suited for a slower, narrative/exploratory game loop than a score-based game loop - but it was enjoyable nevertheless!
Cute, fun writing
I enjoyed the humor! I think that the HOA president who wanted to look at ugly houses was my favorite part. I would have like a bit of music, but it's hard to do everything in a jam. Fun!
Okay, first off: the corn part was really funny. I liked that a lot.
The game felt sort of luck-based to me; I was mostly just wandering around and hoping I'd randomly come across a soul, so it didn't really feel like my fault when I died. Overall, though, this game has a charm to it---nice work!
i never knew death was so nice! carrying around souls to every destination they asked for :3 what a guy!
Cool idea, I like how you interpreted the concept of "delivery". I sure miss a music there, but the mood was chilling and nice.
Thank you all for the feedback. We would have loved to do more with this game! We found ourselves coming right down to the wire with this one! By the time we realized where it was going it was too late to change the concept. A linear slower paced story was the next logical step, and obviously sound effects, Can't wait to do it again!
Loved the graphics. It would be nice to have some music during gameplay.
I love the corn guy 😂 Such an amazing surprise
The graphic was nice, and I love the music (why isn't it played during the gameplay?)
I was hooked in immediately with the "introduction" soul (the person who want to see the car and then Betty and the corn), I guess it's placed there by intend? Really good kickoff.
Going on I really like that the souls all have their own story and feel "alive", I'd instinctively imagine the person I'm delivering, like the introduction soul was a farmer guy who loved his work, probably is very young at his death. Or the old man who want to see places with memory of his wife, probably he was in a wheelchair for awhile so he couldn't visit those places for awhile...
This lead to my no.1 dissatisfaction that the game's on a timer so I feel rushed and can't get to know the souls better. Doesn't matter that much being a single player game though, but definitely would enjoy a slower approach like a narrative or puzzle game setup.
As a side note, this Jam's theme lead to a lot of Death-themed game, but I really appreciate that this one's lightweight and even humorous.
I think this is the first 3D game I've been able to run in a web browser for this jam. Whatever you did to make that happen, good job.
This is one pretty game! Some of the stuff the souls wanted to do before moving on was really hilarious. The timer likes to run out while you're searching for the next soul, I think it would be better if it only run while actually carrying a soul. This would make the game a bit easier and allows us to just explore the beautiful world you built.
Very nice game, well done!
Highly saturated colors are very eye-catching and impressive. I really like the design of the directional arrow under the character's feet. Compared to "placing arrows around the screen," the arrow under the character's feet allows the player to know where to go without having to move their gaze away from the character.
Very cute graphics, and impressively large and varied world map! Loved the quirky humor, especially the HOA guy. I also realized I should appreciate corn more.
Crazy taxi but kinda heartfelt with talking to dead people, nice concept!
Maybe if the timer wasn't failure but bonus if you make it, it'd be more fair.
This was a really fun one. The title music was perfect -- I wish you had kept it in during the gameplay! I enjoyed the overall aesthetic. It was a bit retro, and the saturated, bright colors made a fun juxtoposition with the concept of the grim reaper. Giving bonus points for the hilarious corn bit :)
