This game made me realize how much I take rotation for granted. I will never twist something again without a sense of awe and gratitude. Thank you. Also cool game good job.

dan-burns 2023-10-03 00:35

Wow I love this (and so did my kid). That tune is so awesome. Great dingy/nostalgic vibe all around, and hilarious/cool idea.

johnsensei 2023-10-03 11:48

I just commented the other day that loot and inventory systems in modern games are getting out of hand. I really like this one, it was easy to understand and to pick up and play. I had an idea after the theme party that maybe completing the puzzle within a designated time could yield different results. For example, completing quickly "You slaughtered all the zombies" - completing in time "You survived the zombie apocalypse" - not in time "The zombies ate you" etc.

Fun little puzzler! I liked the vibes of the music, but the audio level was LOUD! I think I finally dusted the ceiling off with all the dB that my sub was putting out when I first opened it haha. But cool synth, and simple beat.

For your next jam, you can 'level up' the audio by making a loopable track, so that it doesn't sound like it ends and begins again, but just plays continuously into the eternities..

Nice job!

sudocoffee 2023-10-05 01:04

I remember you talking about this one, nice execution of your idea! It would be cool if it had more odd shaped blocks, I was able to solve all the puzzles without re-placing anything.

supersayafynn 2023-10-06 14:01

Nice and clean inventory management game, well done! Unlike the other inventory games of this jam, this one thankfully was not stressful at all. No sweaty hands!

flying-dog-fish 2023-10-06 14:03

Interesting puzzle game, albeit a bit short and easy.

There's just one problem.. you can put item on top of other items and don't have to actually solve the puzzles.

Cool little game and subjectively funny endgame screen.

The grid could be darker/transparent so it does not interfere with the background/sprites. Feel free to add more levels .

@daniel-davis-music I actually used Wolfram Tones to generate the music. I didn't realize the volume was so loud because the speakers on my Framework laptop are rather quiet. Since Wolfram Tones outputs a MIDI file I'll definitely edit the MIDI to be loopable when I work more on this.

@sudocoffee I have more ideas for blocks like an X-shaped block with cross swords. I plan to work some more on this game, and I have ideas for more blocks.

@flying-dog-fish Yes, there's a problem with the drag 'n' drop functionality of the game that allows items to be placed on top of each other. Also, the box just checks how many pieces are in it to determine whether the puzzle is solved. This would work okay if the drag 'n' drop code worked properly. Hopefully I can figure out the problem when I work on this some more.

@john-saba, @supersayafynn, @dan-burns, and @johnsensei, Thank you (and everyone else) for your kind words.

I liked the short game. Really simple and effective. Suitable for the theme.

bill-marcy 2023-10-08 22:30

This was a lot of fun! We definitely got "got" by the second 3x3 level! It's pretty cool that such a simple puzzle concept could surprise you like that. I liked the weapon asset/music combo - it set a certain mood.

The only point of feedback I would offer is to make the grid lines more transparent so that the weapons in the grid stand out more.

Great job!

wakobu 2023-10-09 05:11

Backpack problem simulator  The game is simple and really quick to finish.

gamedevjeroen 2023-10-09 08:57

Cool concept! I'm happy those bombs didn't explode while I was packing them!

ahbee-studio-nex-us 2023-10-09 08:57

I like this interpretation of limited space. Inventory management is fun but the fun ends too quick. Well done !!

masterproject 2023-10-09 17:55

When we were discussing the jam, my friends almost decided to go with this idea. I'm glad someone did! The background music was really tense and gave off a lot of Deus Ex vibes. The implementation is a bit barebones, but it works. Overall, I like the concept, and I think it has potential to be developed further!

volkolak 2023-10-11 21:02

Cool description :) Very original interpretation of the topic. I think if we remove the bugs and add levels it will be very good.

captaindreamcast 2023-10-13 03:08

Ha, super funny and clever take on the theme! The item packing struggle we are all familiar with.

Had a lot of fun going through the different levels. The final one was when it all came together, figuring out the optimal way to place those crowbars, but I managed to get that extreme joy when you only have bombs left and it all works out. Very cool, great job!

koboldskeep 2023-10-14 18:15

Neat little idea. Buggy if you drop items on top of each other. I'd like to see a more complex version of it.

najjaman 2023-10-15 05:46

Cool! It's basically Unpacking, but in reverse, and you're an assassin. This game will probably get us all banned from ever entering the US. At some point a shuriken and a bomb fused to make a shuriken-bomb, I was impressed by this newfound destructive power. The concept is neat, I didn't mind the short length. I like games with no fillers. The last two levels were enough to showcase that it can actually make for interesting puzzles. The dark audio was coherent with the setup text on the itch.io page mentioning Deus Ex, and just like that we have a mood. The sprites and font too, now that I think of it. Good job on all sides!

kristinamay 2023-10-16 19:45

Hey now, I really like organizing things... anyway, very cool game, drag and drop can be so annoying to implement from scratch so I feel your pain. Good work!

sgtweirdo 2023-10-17 16:43

Thanks for setting up this little experience! This should help me level up my hitman career, really appreciate it. Jokes aside, fun little game, I experienced no jank, music was really good, puzzles were easy but I can see the potential.

antonijmark 2023-10-20 17:15

Cozy game, good work!

curtis-pelissier 2023-10-20 20:30

Ahah we had the same idea for our game entry ^^ so... it is a good one :eyes:

Really cool, but too short. I wish there was more levels.

Also, I got stuck because clicking on objects sometimes make them go out of the grid.

killerb 2023-10-20 20:34

@curtis-pelissier, I'll look into the issue and fix it in my next build. I believe I actually have the mouse interface working well enough. Too bad I couldn't finish it before the jam ended. :?

gizz1 2023-10-21 11:43

Has some problems but still well done!
