WOW this is such a cool take on the theme and also just really fun to play! i love the pressure of the window shrinking in on you.

WOW this is such a cool take on the theme and also just really fun to play! i love the pressure of the window shrinking in on you.
Wow! Extremely fun, addicting, and stress inducing! Wanting to see how much fire rate I could get kept me playing! Super satisfying and an excellent take on the theme!
I came across this game on Twitter/X and after a few minutes of playing, I was amazed. I really like the sound design and the aesthetics in the game. Even though they're simple, they're so satisfying to hear and see and they work well with the concept. The gameplay is really interesting, especially with the constant shrinking down window. I love the idea of bullets helping to increase the window size and using multiple windows for later game enemies. I'm not sure if I got that far, but I enjoyed the experience a lot. It's a very neat idea.
Window Kill - Coins collected 166 RSK.png
Loved this game, so challenging and addictive. I like how there are down sides to upgrades (for me at least) cause I get high fire rate and big push back and next think I know getting stuck in the corner/sides. I only beat one boss so far :'(
Woah, such cool use of windows! You nailed the theme and gameplay mechanics. It's really fun to play too :) Only thing is that getting hurt could be shown more clearly, maybe flashing the background or shaking the window a bit. But other than that it's super solid.
Really well done!!
Such a cool use of the theme! Everything is so juicy from sound to particle effects. Only issue I had was occasional accidental clicking and windows focusing out from the game
Very nice game - and also similar to what I did! I love animations, they really add personality to enemies. And progression is good, so many cool upgrades. I wish I was better at shoot-em-ups to get to the Boss at least once. Congrats on another beautiful LD submission!
Im so overwhelmed. This game blew me away like no other game in this game jam. I love the idea so much! It feels soooo smooth even the overlapping with other window, which really surprised me really good!
The only thing is with the overlaping windows sometimes it felt like it was lagging/stuttering a bit and the projectiles were not clearly visible (the were visually duplicated). But other than that this might be the best game of this jam tbh! Its so innovative and nailed the theme, I love it!
Nice game!)
Very cool take on the theme!! I think all the window operations made the game slow down quite a bit for me, especially later in game when a few different windows are open. Would really like to see a version kindof like Managore did for Windowframe, where the windows are simulated inside the game's actual window set in fullscreen. With the slow down it felt like the game was too easy and I could going as I liked, but then again I don't know whether it's just the slow down or if it's actually a balancing issue. The minimalist graphics work really well and so do the sound effects. The game's concept is very fun. Super solid entry overall, well done!
This needs to win, it is so clever and well executed ! This is such an original idea that perfectly fits the theme!
Damn, it's amazing how close this is to our game. Yours is much better though, well done.
Spotted this on Twitter, and it lived up to my expectations. Impressive presentation, and it nails the theme. The sound and visuals, though simple, fit perfectly. The shrinking window and bullet dynamics add depth. A clever concept! It's my most replayed game :D. However, I haven't beaten the boss yet; it gets overwhelming with its attacks and multiple enemies to deal with at the same time.
this is such an incredibly creative interpretation of the theme and i never would have imagined a game like this was even possible. fun as hell, too!! others have already said it, but i also had fps issues, though i'm not sure how much you'd actually be able to do about that.
A fantastic entry, fits really well with the theme, has a very unique core mechanic, and is just overall really fun to play. I wish bosses dropped money because i got to the point where they kept spawning so fast they didn't give the normal enemies time to spawn so i ended up getting a lot less income, lol.

As a Ludum Dare veteran manipulating the window isn't a mechanic that amazes me anymore, and is one I was expecting to be used for this theme. We've seen it in Alex Rose's Rude Bear Resolution, Managore's Windowframe, and all the way back to Ludum Dare #23 with Chambers' Recluse.
With that said, you definitely gave your own twist to the mechanic. The constant shrinking, the multiple windows for enemies and abilities. You got some clever things going on.
The shoot 'm up itself is fun! Perhaps a bit too slow paced, which made it not very tempting to start over. I also felt that the sound effects, and the lack of music, didn't match the chaos that was going on. I like the minimalistic graphics. And for what it's worth, I don't have the problems about the game being slow like others are saying.
Such an interesting theme interpretation! Limiting space by limiting window size looks like a novel idea! One of the best entries I've every seen this Ludum Dare!
Dude this is so freaking cool! I can't beat the first boss though due to skill issue :sob:
Such a great idea! If I could give 10 for innovation I would hahahaha. Felt really good, I kind of wish progression progressed a bit more, maybe upgrades to buy with my little purple balls :)
@pinky-toast you should try pressing space!
Omg OH NO hahahah I didn't realize, I'm playing again now xD
Excellent use of the theme, especially like the multiple windows for enemies. The art is really crisp too making it easy to see whats happening without getting overwhelmed
So much better with the upgrades/progression ^^
BRO, my favourite game so far! I think it's the one that I most spend time playing! Mesmerizing, the window manipulation makes the game feel incredible. Very creative and innovative, for me, it's just perfect.
What a fun little game. Like Geometry Wars with pickups and ... Limites Space. Great innovation. The only downside was that it lagged quite badly for me, but that might just be my machine not handling the future of window-powered game manipulation. Nice work.
incredible game! Amazing concept! Congrats!
just awesome, perfec, im jealous
Cool concept, nice execution with a lot of gamefeel (kudos on the sound design). For some reason it was a bit laggy after a few minutes of play but it may be my laptop. The progression system makes it even more addictive, really great job!
Other than the evident coolness of the multi-window gameplay, the visual effects themselves are very flashy and good looking.
@levi (and whoever else may be having performance issues), please try downloading the most recent build (1.5) and running "opengl.bat", it's helped some people who have had the issue!
give up, everyone dies
Really cool concept! Kind of wish some of the other enemies used the multiple screen concept a bit more like the boss and perks, but otherwise this is one of the best games fitting the theme I've seen yet!
Very cool concept! I didn't see any healing mechanics, which I would have expected since max hp is an upgrade? It's possible I just didn't get far enough. It would also have been nice to have descriptions of what the boss upgrades did.
@kaliuresis healing is a purchase available in the shop
Ah, I guess I just got unlucky my first few runs and never saw it. I tried again and was able to get a lot farther. Capture.PNG
If I had a nickel for every time I didn't realize I could move in a mouse-based game in this jam, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Really fun use of the theme! The game got a bit laggy once multiple windows were open, but the effect was worth it. I love how the shrinking screen space forces you to balance between attacking enemies and expanding your view so you don't get hit by sneak attacks.
This is really clever! The enemies that appear on separate windows that you have to make your way to are really neat and the whole game is a cool interpretation of the theme.
@mao this exact scenario (performance issues when multiple windows are open) has been brought up elsewhere, i pushed a fix for it in the v1.5 build if you run the "opengl.bat" file
Super coooooool game! The interpretation of the theme and then making it into a desktop game? Suuuperb! The game has created tons of WOWs for me, really enjoyed it.
This is a very fun and innovative game. I hope you will expand your game and make it even more interesting.
Sick idea, very well executed! Liked the difficulty. Though I couldn't understand what the red rectangle did.ce01640b843fb1f4e31d2a1400a8b181.png
Very relevant, interesting, highly playable, so well done!

So amazing! The idea, graphics, gameplay, everything is at the highest level! love this type of graphics
This idea is awesome, it can be quite confusing sometimes but it's so much fun to play. Great job!
nq0XGgNorR.png Played the game a few times again , it sure get fun once u know which upgrades to get. I love the difficulty curve. Didn't lag for me. Controls and speed of gameplay felt good as well. Didn't get what the 3 upgrades when u defeat the boss suppose to do.
The theme is so cool and I really enjoy the experience.
What a blast! Took a few tries before I realized there was a shop which definitely made things more manageable. Fun, polished, and great use of the theme. Only thing missing is maybe some pumping music.
windowscore.png
AWESOME!
Wow! Just Wow! I am speechless. Perfect!
definetly one of if not the! Most unique game in the entire jam. The game was challenging but didnt feel unfair. My only critique is that i wish there was some more feedback when you got hit but besides that an excellent game! I can only imagine what kind of a masterpiece it could develop into if you developed it further
"Limited space," indeed. Nice one! Would be nice if it had some music... I haven't figured out what the drain and peer do yet. Peer can be moved around to find another eye, but... what does it do?
Amazing job, so well executed, congrats for the scope and the job done !!
Genius idea, executed so damn well. Didn't even know you could do this lmao
Can't stop屏幕截图 2023-10-04 010817.jpg
This is so clever! I really loved the whole concept of the windows. It is so good! Played this a lot
This game is just outside of the box! Would be nice to have fullscreen here, haha. Maybe some money for killing bosses would be great. Had a really good time playing. Good job!
Also, I think it becomes difficult in the end, mainly due to the chaotic movement of the windows. Upgrades like piercings will kill you faster than anything else. When you shoot the boss, the window pulls you towards the boss. And the only way to avoid this is not to shoot the boss. And if you also have homing, for the most part you don’t have such a choice. I think this can be fixed by making the window decay rate independent of the window size. I still think the game is cool and I'm only criticizing it because I found it very fun.
easily one of the coolest games this jam, no question! i found that waiting until i had 1 hp left, and then spamming re-rolls in the shop until i found heals was a pretty valid strategy. i also think the drain zone could be a bit bigger, and still not entirely sure what the bottom upgrade does. but overall, this was awesome!
i have seen a few window manipulating game in this jam and this one is the coolest so far! i love the simplicity but clean and colorful graphics, it really catchs my eye. the sound effects fit pretty well, too. however when multiple windows are opened, the game lag sometime. it is also annoying when you slip the mouse out of the window and then you can not shoot the enemies. best game i have played so far, good job!
@mncc8337 thank you for the kind words!
you can try running "opengl.bat" to resolve the performance issues when multiple screens are open, this has been a similar case for several other people.
you can also enable "pause on losing focus" in the settings to mitigate issues with clicking outside the window (or simply keep the mouse button held down when moving it outside the window)
This game is incredible! Audio is fun as are the graphics. Excellent!
Incredibly unique and innovative idea and a great take on this Ludum Dare's theme. Very much enjoy the part where the boss enemy appears in it's own separate window and you have to work your way towards it. If I would change one thing it would be to ramp up the challenge earlier, as I find myself having to play through the same easy bit over and over again to get to the part that's fun and interesting.
The sounds are ASMR to my ears~ You really hit it out of the park with this game!!
I really enjoyed the game from a mechanical standpoint - all of the movement feels super clean and nimble, and it really feels rewarding to hit the targets as you dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge your way through all of the enemies and enemy bullets. I also love the clean aesthetic that the game has overall. All in all, fantastic take on the limited space theme, and well done!
What a novel take on the theme... using the game's window as a limited space. This is definitely leaning on the fourth wall territory.
My record is 685 seconds. Author is genius.
Great fun! I really enjoyed it!
This is such an innovative idea! Never would've thought that moving the windows could be a part of the gameplay! It's a polished game even without the moving windows mechanic. This game is truly amazing. Only thing I would say is that the game is getting pretty laggy towards the end, it's affecting gameplay a little bit, but having to resize the windows constantly I get why the game would take a toll on performance, I'd love to revisit the game if it gets optimized!
so cool !!! perfect game for this game jam
Most solid entry I have played so far. Everything in this game is so well executed. The gameplay is addictive, the minimalistic graphics fits the game perfectly, same for the sound effects. The progression seembs well balanced and challenging. The only problem I have seen is when there are many windows it starts showing some hiccups. I agree with the person saying that it might get better if you take the same route as windowframe, where the windows where actually simulated. It would also help with me clicking on something outside the windows, which happens from time to time
Well done! I could see a commercial version of this game doing well on Steam -- It reminds me of games like Snkrx.
hey! we're window moving buddies! this game is fantastic, the only thing I would add is some music just because it feels a bit bland without it
Wow! I mean wow! What an absolutely fantastic idea executed to perfection! I simply could not put this down. Amazing stuff! I have literally only two criticisms: I'd love a native Linux version (since it was made in Godot this shouldn't be difficult, running it through WINE left much to be desired) and some music to go alongside it, but obviously for a jam game, those are far from important! Incredibly fun and addictive, great job!
I like me a game that plays with windows)
Pretty incredible execution! Played a bunch of games and I haven't gotten near some of the scores I see here T_T
I literally don't even know how you go about making a game like this! This game was incredibly well made, and amazed me when I first got into it! It was a tad laggy, but for a game like this, I don't know how it couldn't be! Absolutely great submission! Super fun to play!
Very interesting game! It looks and feels great to play. The boss fight (star thingy) make good use of the window resize mechanic. The take on the theme is perfect. Maybe a short sentence under the upgrades to explain would have helped, I was a bit clueless sometimes. Amazing entry!
This is one of the best take on the theme I've seen! Great job! The only thing I'd say is that it's frustrating to lose focus when clicking outside the window, but I get that it's a hard problem. Maybe you could do a fake kind of thing where you screenshot the desktop at launch and put it behind the game's windows? Or like that but with fake windows inside a bigger window? It would also help with the lags when multiple windows are open.
Anyways great entry congrats!
Awesome game, cool idea and lots of fun
@lastuck the "pause on losing focus" and "windows always on top" settings are meant to mitigate this. but I personally find it a fun consequence of the game's environment, which is why the former is disabled by default. (it's perfectly valid to find this frustrating)
WHOA, this is easily one of the most unique games ever! I wasn't great at it lol but I enjoyed every moment, and the tension that the shrinking window brought with it was lovely. Plus adding the other pop-ups and such was brilliant. This is so polished, which is wild for such a unique idea in such a short time frame.
Screenshot 2023-10-16 175030.png
Really creative idea! I can't tell you the noise I made when the second window opened with the larger enemy. Feels like the kind of thing I'll have on my computer even after Ludum Dare is done. Didn't manage to get a picture of my highscore before I closed it, but great work on this!
Just came here to say I love this concept for a game. I'd definitly whould like to see this expended upon for a bigger release with even more stuff, upgrades, levels maybe? idk, but just wanna say it whuld be a shame if this whouldn't be expended upon.
Very creative, having the window itself shrink instead of some sort of border within the game is genius! Love the additional windows as well. Fantastic job, my favourite game this jam.
Really amazing game. I hope it gets updated again at some point to fix some important issues. Firstly, the game is a lot harder with a larger screen resolution. I have a 2160p screen so everything appeared twice as small compared to a 1080p screen. This also means I have to travel twice as far to start attacking the boss when it appears. Changing the screen resolution in my computer settings helped but that made the game run really horribly for some reason. And yes, I did run it from the bat file, before that I was having issues even with 2160p.
