I was so immersed in the game that I was sad it ended. The sounds and setting in the rooms was amazing. Still, it's not a complete game, I feel like you've got to do the intro only. That said, I'm sure you're going to scope better next time, since these things are learned only by practice. Thank you for the experience!

Wow, that was fun! The sounds were spectacular for setting the mood. And I was impressed with how many assets and animations you crammed in to this! Very fun.

:heavy_check_mark: I've truly never seen it snowing 30 meters underground :cloud_snow:.

I'm totally astounded, this is great! Everything seems so well **polished** and fits so nicely together.

The **atmosphere** on the second level with the robots lying around is eerie and even a little frightening if you're in the mood. The sound effects really give it a 3D feeling to the whole experience.

Also, it was really well thought that, after playing the game, it automatically opened the LDjam page for it, would you care to show how did you do that? :P

:x: My only gripe with it is that it's so **short**!

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback, everyone! I worked really hard on the audio and mood for this one. I had some ideas for additional levels, and the tools I built made things really streamlined. But you know how it is. 48 hours goes by quickly!

Honestly, as long as people enjoy their (brief) time with it, I'm super satisfied. If it gets high enough ratings, I'll fill it out with more content. I have a lot of exciting game + narrative ideas for it, but I want to see if it actually connects with people first! :)

@train27 Automatically opening the page on exit is super easy. It's one line of code, and you can see it in the repo. Here's a [direct link](https://github.com/Oreganik/LudumDare48-Deeper/blob/main/Assets/Code/System/App.cs).

That was a little anti-climactic, but the mood was set really well and quite eerie. I would recommend doing work on anticipating how players will unintentionally (or intentionally) and invariably break your game. For instance, first thing I did before going to the first door was take a left and crank the handle. Then I went to the door and got the message indicating that something needed to be cranked first. I went back to the crank but couldn't interact with it. I thought I had broken the game and was unable to progress so I was about to quit, before realizing I simply had to interact with the door again. The generator thing was weird too, because it was already on, but got a message saying I needed to find a generator to turn on. The bot thing was hilarious though! "Oh no, who could be taking these fuses from these bots?" TWO SECONDS LATER "I guess I'll take this fuse from this bot."

Nice work! I really like the aesthetic and world-building you've done. I wish the puzzles were a little bit less linear. Very cool stuff and nice graphics. It seems like the lightmap isn't baked, and I would do that since it doesn't change in the levels and it would make it look a lot nicer. Also, some easing on the movement would be appreciated. I liked the camera zooming in on the cutscenes. Really nice job!

Hey, nice work on this one! Too bad you ran out of time, I can see this benefiting from many additional hours of grinding to expand the story and levels, fix the inconsistent game design elements and producing something more playable. The graphic style is great and the mood too. Keep working on it, I'd love to play it once it's more advanced :)

minibetrayal 2021-05-03 03:55

Shame about the length, there's definite potential there!

martiniano-marelli 2021-05-03 06:02

It's amazing how good the setting and mood is. You managed to perfectly capture the eeriness of small, empty and pristine spaces which was only improved with the music. I really hoped to see how it'd finish and then all of a sudden, it was over!

Puzzles were kind of a drag though, as they boiled down to pressing a button...

Good work, hope to see more!

udo2 2021-05-03 09:40

Suddenly: the end! But... I want to see what happened to the base! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Very well done in the short amount of time you had. With the colored snow at the end and the general mood, the game feels like it would fit into the SCP universe.

I would definitely like to play a full(er)-sized version of this!

Really good mood and atmosphere with great sound design. I enjoyed the puzzles. I just wish it was longer. Great game, congrats!

chenyi-jiang 2021-05-03 10:04

the game is so cool, and the sound effect really make me feel nervous.

paetramon 2021-05-03 14:58

This was really great, would love to see you continue it after voting is over! The sound and music worked well and gave it an interesting atmosphere. Well done!

runuchok 2021-05-03 17:03

Nice entry! You nailed audio, mood, and music in this one. Puzzles a bit simple and controls and gameplay flow a bit janky, but overall solid game!

pkenney 2021-05-04 02:42

Really excelling at the mood here. Everything cooperates to nail it: the spare visual style, the synths, the way I'm manually opening doors wondering what kind of game this even is and feeling suspense. Loved the little touches like some of the overhead lights being out, and the bots on the ground.

Entering the final room definitely stop me in my tracks to just look around. The conclusion felt abrupt and I wished it could have been tied off in some way, but what you did create was really effective.

Pacing was well done, too. At first I felt the text was too slow, and at the start of the game I was surprised I had no jump, but after getting a sense of the game I realized both of these were the correct design choice. I liked the little snarky remark about wishing it was a gun, as of course I totally didn't wish it was a shooter, but this was a nice addition to the suspense feel.

Really a well-executed piece here, despite feeling a little incomplete.

Very impressive game! You've got a great handle on art, music and sound effects and the puzzles work well. I'd love to see more of this and see where it goes. The only problem is that it's too short :P

lorwon 2021-05-04 10:04

That's a really good job for a compo entry ! I love the atmosphere of your game ! And the sound design is just perfect good job. The particle effect in the last room is beautifull good job !

PS: I think you can improve the flashlight ;)

olddog 2021-05-04 23:34

The elevator hahahahahahhahah  I thank I will go up stairs, but just a faker scene change; I like: movement is smooth; All doors and buttons works wwell ;mood is great ,I like the quite and scary base room; not likes:doors seem too many at first level ,and I just open many doors without puzzle; graphic need some improvement, seems no AO or depth of field in game; post-process will helps a lot  nice job

vphyre 2021-05-06 13:48

Quite interesting game. I liked the graphics, the sound, and the mood in general. It's a cool experience. The gameplay based on puzzles is interesting too. Congratulations.

ismael-rodriguez 2021-05-06 15:00

Very nice. Visually it's great. The pixel font stands out as unnecessary, because everything else is modern and smooth, and not pixel. Other than that the style is on-point.

Audio hum and sound effects are very fitting and fit the mood well.

The 2nd room is a little weird turning the lights off looked cool, but it just locked me in the room? The puzzle is to keep the lights on?

Being stuck between doors as they open and close was kind of slow, maybe unnecessary?

Finding the fuse in the one area is easy enough, and had me feeling like the game was about to open up! Then the colored flakes looked nice... But then the game ended  (I wish there was more!)

I like that you added sensitivity options, but wish there was also a Y-invert option. There's no real action so it didn't bother me too much.

Very nice entry, very moody, and looks good!

tanis 2021-05-08 15:40

Nice mood and I like the color-less art. The controls are a bit too quick for my taste, but I liked everything else of this game. I loved the puzzles and I really wish you made more levels and more puzzles!
