I really dug this one! Very distinctive style, and I love riddles. The riddles in this one struck a nice balance between not-obvious and yet not-bonkers.
The one that gave me the most trouble was actually the second. There are multiple rooms with objects that seem like they SHOULD fit the riddle. I initially thought I had it when I found the chocolate pie, but then it was wrong and it was actually the room with keylime pie. That felt bad.
And that's when I found out what happens when you fail a riddle. You have to replay the ones (presumably in the set-of-5) you already got. Riddles aren't... replayable. So just going through the motion of recompleting the levels is busy work. The only way that could be fixed is if prior the riddles were remixed on death a bit but otherwise it's just better to restart the one you failed immediately.

Great artwork, I liked it!
The fourth riddle beat me! I'd love to see reasoning for the riddles after a while. I loved the art style/atmosphere though, tried many times just because I was drawn in.
Absolutely adored this game. The music and art create a unique and engaging atmosphere that made me want to keep going.
It's a great little proof of concept that could be developed into a bigger project!
Very solid puzzle game! Art and atmosphere are definitely top notch for a jam game

This is an interesting interpretation of the theme and the art is indeed really good. The blue player on an often blue background is a bit odd but the colour palette in general is really compelling. Walking through the portals looks really good.

This happened to me as well.
Really nice soundtrack and unique artstyle. I was unable to understand all the riddles but I love the puzzle idea!

Awesome idea! Very atmospheric! Riddles have won me so far! But I will definitely go through them all. I'm very interested in what's next! You guys are great!
Great atmosphere connected with creepy graphics. It does its work! The riddles are nicely balanced, but I got beaten by nr 4. It is really annoying that you need to replay everything after failing one, that's probably I decided to give up after some failures at 4. Also it would be nice to have some special sound informing that you already found correct answer. I know that it would allow player just to use every possible interaction trying to find correct answer, well, then it would be nice to not restart everything after failure. But it would lead players to use everything anyway.
For sure you guys need to add all answers somewhere, maybe on that google drive? With obvious spoiler alert, I would like to know the reasoning behind them.
Very good entry guys, congratz!

Amazing are visual but there should be bigger motion speed)
One of my favorite entries so far. Really atmospheric and engaging game with cool pixel art and eerie music. The only drawback for me is that you have to start the set 5 riddles again after failure which is not enjoyable.
The art style and sound design are great. Loved the riddles aswell, just not the part where you have to repeat all the ones you got before if you fail one, that just feels like work.

Keep the suggestions coming! We are planning a Post-Ludum build after ratings are over.

Very cool puzzle game. I couldn't figure out one puzzle. I think it would be better to not reset progress after wrong answer. Yes, someone might try to brute force it then, but there's no enjoyment there and it's on them IMO. For others who want to solve the puzzles it would mean less backtracking, more enjoying the game.
Artstyle is great and unique. Color palette could use some refinement. Too much bright blues for my taste. Audio fits nicely. Music is pleasant and suits this type of game.
Would love to see more from you. Cheers!

I got through the whole game! Definitely agree with people who say you shouldn't have to reset your progress ... there's no point to it; it's not like it's more difficult the second time. Also, there were three pie-like objects on the tables, and naturally it didn't work for me until I tried the third one, so the art there could be made clearer. Otherwise, the art was fantastic, the animation was smooth, and now the next time I see a toucan I will wait for it to give me a riddle before I walk through any doors.
Love the aesthetic of this! Very polished, and some atmospheric music, I like it.
How about some more / different feedback when 'selecting' an item? I didn't understand at first how to 'make' my choice of item, and I thought I was just getting some flavor text.
Great atmosphere and a great puzzle game. I agree with everyone who says you should just restart on the current puzzle, or at least REMIX the puzzles somehow. Very polished for a jam game, and I am VERY much looking forward to the post-ludum-dare build.

Very cool idea! the art is very unique, i loved it! the puzzles are also quite fun, congrats!
I really like the art and the riddles were well done as well, not too hard but I was stuck on a few of them which is good!
Those riddles were tough, definitely some adventure-game logic happening there which is always a bit frustrating, especially when your progress resets every failure.
BUT, the music was amazing, I love how layers were added for every riddle, and the art was also mesmerizing.
This was super cool and challenging, I loved it!

The music for this game is breathtaking and very fitting for your game! Great job, Geist!) The game itself is too easy, lol ;)
I loved your game! Amazing. I finished it. Kudos! One of my favorite games so far. Only think I would do is speed up the walk a little so you can progress faster between rooms. Also thanks for playing my game on your stream. Best of luck!
Oh man, I'm terrible at riddles but I really enjoyed the artwork! Very surreal, but super cool. The music was fantastic, I just wish the player moved a bit faster. Amazing job all around.
Nice game! The graphics are right up my alley and the controls are a pleasure to use, could you check out my game when you can? :D

Cool Game! The art was really good, but the puzzles were hard. Overall, may keep this game!
Very good art, the color pattern looks very nice! I didn't get past the 3rd riddle as I am not so good at this type of games, but I find it very interesting!

I liked the artistic part of this game! Well done
Thanks for providing a Linux executable, but the 7z archive seems to be missing the pck file and possibly other required items? I tried to grab those from the Windows package and it launches but doens't seem to be complete.
Really cool ! Liked the art and the mood :)

Cool puzzle game even if I didn't succeed all the riddles  Love the mood and the light soundtrack. I would recommend you to make an itch.io page
Damn, this was a really cool game. Loooved the visuals and I love the riddles! Really clever game and really fascinating world and an amazing use of fruit loops. The only complaint I have, honestly. is that I didn't get to take that cute little toad with me as a pet.

Very nice your interpretation of the theme. I found the overall gaming experience interesting. Although I was not able to get to the end haha. But in any case I found the graphics and sound very good. The atmosphere of the game is incredible. Congratulations.

@marcmagus I've updated the Linux download to include all the files. Care to test it out for me? (And I had to include some post-ludum updates. Shhh...don't tell anyone)
I loved the puzzles! Took me a few tries to solve all of them, but it was really rewarding when I did. I'm a huge sucker for point & click games (like submachine) and this really reminded me how fun they can be!
(the linux build worked perfectly for me btw)
Wow, what a different game!!
The art style is very unique, I liked it but the main character sometimes gets blended with the background.
On my resolution the game was cropped: I couldn't see the whole window (my resolution is 1366x768).
I started very confused with what I was supposed to do, but the Help button was a nice addition to reduce the confusion.
I liked the riddles but the game resetting everytime I made a mistake was very frustrating.
Overall, its a nice and unique entry! Good job!
I really like the graphical style going on here. It's pretty unique and looks good. And I could tell what a lot of the objects were without even having to read their descriptions, so that's convenient.
The music and sound effects are very nice as well.
Of course as this point you've heard many times the complaint about losing all the progress... I would concur there. However I do have to say I kind of like the idea of these larger chunks of the game that you have to complete without messing up--getting to the room after beating 5 puzzles in a row is a nice feeling. I'm just not sure what an effective way to lose progress would be that isn't boring and very slow--moving back through all the rooms takes a very long time!
Perhaps the game could have a queue of all the possible puzzles, and if you fail one at a given point, it doesn't reset all your progress, but it gives you a new random puzzle and moves the one you failed somewhere else in the queue? At least that's one idea.
Anyways, besides the progress-resetting conundrum, this game is very nice and has some nice adventure game vibes to it.
I liked the graphics and the soothing music in the background which slightly softened the annoyance of resetting the progress.
You guys did a great job polishing this game and I feel the only thing it needs (apart from not resetting your progress when you mess up) is more content. Some of the riddles were a bit ambiguous but I suppose that is the point. Just make sure the player doesn't feel betrayed by the hint if their wrong answer could technically be correct based on the wording.
