Adequate submission for the theme!
in itch.io click in `Frame options` the checkbox `SharedArrayBuffer support` it will allow to run your game in browser
Tried the web version but doesnt load, downloaded the exe and was fine. Very enjoyable a different, well dont on a solid entry
The game looks great in the screenshots, but when I tried it it doesn't load the map at all, it would also help if it could be viewed in full screen
sadly doesn't run in web :(
The web version didn't work for me either, but the Windows one did!
It was a bit confusing at first, but pretty fun once I got it - managed to reach floor 12! Things got pretty hectic when fighting 5 enemy wizards at once :) One thing I didn't understand though were the air & earth elements - they didn't seem to do anything? I ended up just always spamming water to good results. Also, invalid moves skipping your turn without any feedback felt a bit harsh, but it mostly happened when I was still figuring things out, so it wasn't too bad. Overall, great entry!
Interesting concept with good theming, but overall it seems just a bit too random. Perhaps introducing different kinds of wizards that move in specific ways, and informing the player about their movement and attack styles, could lend more logical game attributes to this game.
Good entry nonetheless!
Webversion should be working now. Had some problems with the upload and godot 4.2
Very polished and addictive! Clever and original idea.
My only complaint would be that I didn't get any use out of the air boost and earth wall abilities, it always seemed preferable to either move or attack in a turn rather than using one of those.
The idea is pretty cool. Game has lots of visual polish and plays well. I didn't really find myself needing any element other than just fire though
Nice board gamey vibes. The graphics were nice, music and SFX superb, and the gameplay got pretty interesting after I figured out what to do. Managed to get to lvl 5 only, though. Good game overall, well done.
I can see this being developed into a larger game. Putting static environment elements like water or permanent stones would be an obvious first step. An interesting twist would be to make it if certain elements rubbed up together in a particular way, they would be consumed and summon a new entity, sort of like in the board game Tash-Kalar
Hey there fellow chess-game-maker. Love the vibes and gamefeel. very juicy
@alanbrook initially the stones placed where permanent problem was the player and ai could get stuck if they surrounded themeselve with permanent obstacles. air should have enabled to jump other the other elements onto an open field and could even burst the elements like fire and water further to enable an even more strategic approach. sadly i was out of time. i also agree that the elements, which were spawned initially, should not disappear and be permanent. thanks for the feedback
Very high polished compo game. I agree that it was sometimes to random or i just didn't got the rules. But was still fun. Made it to lvl 5.
Interesting idea. Sometimes I get confused but overall I enjoy it and artstyle is nice
Pretty well polished, felt a bit random or reduced to "force them into a corner then FIRE" at times but given the time limit a good overall enjoyable take on a puzzle game.
I like this game! You guys are great!
I enjoy this game. Graphics and sounds are great. A little confusing at first, but when you understand how to play, it feels good.
Godot da best :P
Really fun game! Managed to get to floor 13 on my second attempt. Once you see the spells, they feel surprisingly intuitive. Although I pretty much only used fire as it felt the best to me. Great work!
Really like the art style and the game play. One suggestion would be to make the summon buttons clickable.I clicked on them several times out of reflex and ended up casting the wrong spell. I will also echo the suggestion for more wizard types. Hmmm... and perhaps a wizard battle, purchasable summon "cards" you can switch out between levels, etc. That would be really neat. Overall I like the idea and am going to go play with it some more. Nice job
Oh, God, that's real fun! I've never feel such magic hell in every other game. But you did it in CHESS GAME! It's brilliant! Unfortunately, I didn't how some skills work although I won a lot of time. But anyway, this game does a lot of fun!
Thank you for the game!
Tutorial really needed. Good job however, especially coming up with a nice board game concept in a compo game.
