Great work :) I like the star sprite and the drift movement.

Great work :) I like the star sprite and the drift movement.
This is a very neat little game! I like the art style and idea. While the drift movement felt a bit too extreme, the game was good overall.
The movement is balance from my point of view so it is not frustrating x) Good job !
Nice game, I like the star sprite at the bottom and the movement feels nice after a few tries, One thing I noticed was asteroids wont despawn after dying and can damage you in the start of the next run. Other than that very nice game!
I couldn't play it (I opened with itch Desktop app) so I did not rate it.
I tried to download the file on linux, marked it as executable, and I still wasn't able to play it. Is there anything special I need to do before I try to run it?
I tried to execute it as a program in the terminal and got this error: "./ld49: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.32' not found (required by ./ld49)"
Very pretty looking game, I liked the overall feel of movement and retro graphics.
Alright finally got to play this game. At first I wasn't too sure about the movement, but the more I played it the more I liked it. I'm amazing you got such a good product in pure rust. That's an accomplishment right there. I would have liked a score system to tell how well I was doing, and some sounds would have gone a far way. Other than that, really nice game!
Fun little thing, with smooth movement, appealing graphics, and some nice touches, like the parallax-ish scrolling stars. I found it a little easy to keep my ship repaired - a ramp up in difficulty and a timer might have made it something to play over again to see if I could get a better time. Nice work on this.
@fabernull @toby1645 @maluskhan @shmador @mateu @lesinvisible @dob Thank you all for playing! 😀
@shmador Yeah, asteroid despawning isn't one of the things I had time to implement, the idea being that you can just wait a bit before pressing Enter for the second time between retries. 😅
@mateu Thank you! You being alive means you're doing well.😃 But yes, I suppose some sort of a timer would add a bit of challenge between retries. So much things to do, so little time...
@dob Yeah, I've noticed that it's quite hard to tune difficulty for ld games, especially if random things are involved. Difficulty ramping up was initially planned, but I ended up running out of time.
The game looks pretty great. Not much gameplay, but okay you learned something and had fun making it, and thats whats really matters.
Respect for making it in 48h in pure Rust! I like meteorites having a faces, or only I can see it :scream: The inertia of the ship is very good, satisfactory control over it. Grats!
I liked the art style and contrast with the pickups and character having the only color. Maybe some kind of feedback on when the repair is about to disappear or doing something when your health is low to increase the tension. Sfx/particles could be cool when you pickup or collide. It feels weird to continuously take damage when you're overlapping the asteroids but I got used to it. Looks like you know and just didn't have enough time.
Maybe objects could spawn from the star to represent more intense bursts of radiation and support your theme.
