LD26 — Minimalism

8-Bit? 4-Bit! by Polar 2013-05-01T20:36:00

A bit buggy, and jumping is hard on the top of the first level and in the start of the second one, so didn't finish the game.

But really good take on minimalism, with nice sound and graphics!

Platformers are hard to make?

Guiding Light by cageinabird 2013-04-29T22:58:00

A bit too hard, would like the player to go just a bit faster...
I really liked the footstep sounds and the really minimalistic style.

Colourless by Puccini 2013-04-30T01:44:00

Really enjoyed this game, innovative, minimalistic and fun! Missed music/sound and the corners were kinda annoying, maybe a circle arena would be better.

Primary Reaction by garygreen 2013-05-03T22:49:00

Really unintuitive what will happen, but I liked it!

Primary Reaction by garygreen 2013-05-03T22:50:00

a bit long waiting time when losing tough :(

A by infernet89 2013-05-01T16:11:00

I liked this, nice transitions between the different games, felt natural! Really nice music!

MiniCave by aare 2013-05-01T14:26:00

Fun concept with the three different weapons, too bad on the bugs though. Really nice style considering the theme. Missing music...

Minimalistic Color Labyrinth by humpback studios 2013-04-29T23:38:00

gamesaucer: Thanks for the feedback and nice to hear you enjoyed the game! =)

Salamander3: I didn't really have time for implementing different screen resolutions and thought 1024x768 would be fine for most people. Sorry =/

klianc09: The last color touched isn't locked, it's the last color converted to that is locked. So you can't stand still and convert the same patch over and over.
But yeah, that's actually one of the central points of the puzzle. ;-)
Could have been more intuitive perhaps, or my explansion here and in the readme could've been clearer.
I got tired at the end, the last little bit took a a couple hours to design as I was figuring out the game mechanics my self.
Thx for the feedback. =)

YM: Not to shabby I think! :) If there was a star system in the game it would have given you 2 of 5!

Crated by Thepattybeast 2013-04-29T22:51:00

Can't run due to "Could not find the main class: com.thepattybeastlabs.ld26.LD26Launch"

Cubed Dream by SteFilms 2013-05-01T15:57:00

Kinda strange game, liked it, even though I didn't collect all the coins on the last level. Plus for minimalism!

QbQbQb by rezoner 2013-05-03T14:53:00

Kinda fun game, a bit too slow though. Like the gfx and sound/music. Strange behaviour when holding down an arrow key....?

Color Police by ryuurei 2013-05-01T14:34:00

Some bugs, the ship doesn't spin properly, some times colored things don't seem to get hit, and when I finally managed to kill all of the correct color, nothing happened.

Plus for music/sound, minus for bugs/controls. And what's with the confusing background?

Minimalism Experience by koudelkate 2013-05-01T20:40:00

Can't play as it's missing a whole directory...

Epic Green Cube by Robrock55 2013-04-29T22:50:00

Can't run, sadly, seems interesting.

Deja Vu by Celticraft49 2013-04-30T01:36:00

Fun with the deja vu, but it's frustrating not to be able to see properly when moving right/down. Music is good in the beginning but soon becomes kinda annoying. But I liked it!

fightfightfight by bleatingheart 2013-04-29T23:13:00

Pretty fun, but is it a game? Not really..

Vodka Tycoon by thedaian 2013-05-03T23:15:00

Kinda fun, but setting the price really high and selling to Putin seems like it gives you a lot of money... $124,999,999,999,999,980,000.00/hr

MinimalismRPG by Ernyz 2013-05-01T16:15:00

Not very fun, the blinking was too annoying for allowing me to continue playing... but I enjoyed the idea with a sight cone. Also, would've liked a menu for choosing race/class, typing is boring...

Minimal Gravity by DavidErosa 2013-04-29T23:30:00

When I actually figured out the controls, I really enjoyed this game.
Loved the smilies on the planets.

Minuses: annoying music and maybe could've been a bit more zoomed out?
And why the player wants to destroy planets, when the player dies if being in naked space too long... beats me :D

But the thing that matters, played for a good while, as it was real fun!

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Uno The Mind Reader by humpback studios 2014-04-29T21:05:00

Lucariatias:
=/ too bad. Strange. Does it crash on other key presses? Does R work? (will actually start the game too).
Kragnir:
Yeah, the sprite needs to be above in a pretty small interval, and the code only compares the left border of the sprite compared to the left border and right border of the thought bubble, so it's a bit off...

Everything in the game should be frame independent, as you can see on my screenshot, I myself got a FPS on 310... Maybe the calculations are a bit off, but I don't think so. The game is meant to be fastpased, but it's a bit too hard maybe. Got harder at the very end as I implemented the losing condition...

Thx for feedback!

Uno The Mind Reader by humpback studios 2014-04-29T21:26:00

Marcellus: Try to install http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679

Uno The Mind Reader by humpback studios 2014-04-30T21:47:00

Marcellus: strange. I really don't wanna include dll-files that should be part of some windows (add-on)components... but here my version is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5cnb31apxhmkuk0/msvcp110.dll

MSaul: Restart with R should only work while inside the menu... Didn't occur to me that you might wanna restart after losing the game as I implemented the restart button before the game was actually losable. R is so close to 4... Well. Try R inside of menu?

Cordyceps by VanMerwan 2014-04-30T21:32:00

I'm too inpatient for this kind of game I guess... But I finished the game and had some fun, actually wanted more...
Awesome idea that is nicely done! =)
Bonus for theme, more innovative than a fishing/mining game with a biological infestation thingy, things happening between the surface. =D

I would appreciate some kind of indication on the "transition"-screen that indicated what mode I changed to/from, as it was possible to regret the transition and get back... But maybe it's just me that is tired and confused?

Kriller Whale by spock9a8 2014-04-30T21:38:00

Basic idea, but nice mechanics and thouch. Sound effect totally works and can't really complain about the graphics.

I actually felt like a whale there for a bit, but maybe you could have made it more arcade-ish with a higher tempo..

Kriller Whale by spock9a8 2014-04-30T21:55:00

plus humor for "Don't you know how to whale?" :D hilarious.

Beneath The Surface Tablet by EvilObjective 2014-04-30T21:47:00

As someone said, nice pun with the surface table... I found the game too repetitive for my taste, but at least you managed to get some new things on some of the levels =)

An Osterreich tale, or something about ostriches by Marcellus 2014-04-29T20:54:00

Really interesting game!
Good music!
But way too hard.

An Osterreich tale, or something about ostriches by Marcellus 2014-04-29T21:01:00

Interesting mechanic, but way too hard game though. Checkpoints at each sandpit would be nice. Or should have had an easier first level, cause I feel like an idiot. =D

Nice music and awesome backstory! :D

Try to get out by morganbengtsson 2014-04-29T20:45:00

Nice mood and immersion with the voice instructions. Altough I didn't really understood what each button did and I just seemed to drift around?
A bit annoying music, but it works and grows on me... really adds to the pressure...

I found the red boxes twice, but didn't really understood how to use them to get out...

I'm not who I am by Tik 2014-04-29T20:17:00

Missing some RPG thingy?

I'm not who I am by Tik 2014-04-29T20:18:00

RTV=RPGVXAce that is...

Too bad as I like your idea and really wan't to play the game.

Submarines! by ClutchNachos 2014-04-29T20:30:00

Really missing 1 player mode, but I tried it with my roomie and it was kinda fun. I liked the controls, he didn't.
The music is good and sound effects too.

MineDown by CaiusTSM 2014-04-29T20:15:00

Nice idea and playable. I kinda like that the blocks not all look the same.

I felt the tempo was a bit slow.

One annoying bug is that the score text is beneath the surface (actually that will give you a bonus point) of the blocks...
Don't underestimate the importance of sound.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Justified by humpback studios 2015-08-27T17:28:00

jrhee: thx!
Hamsternator: do you remember which ending that was?
axoona: Nice! :D
NoWandStudios: thx!
justinooncx: thx. Well, it has music (if you didn't hear it, test another browser) and when it comes to graphical design, the font, placement and colours and stuff like that affects the experience even of a text adventure, right?

Justified by humpback studios 2015-09-05T12:53:00

ALobker: then you should try another way... :)

Attack of the Meef by KR-Eddie 2015-08-25T19:29:00

Backspace to reconfigure controls doesn't work in the web version. I think it is due to it being reserved by the browser or something?
