LD22 — Alone

Alone by sirGustav 2011-12-29T23:39:00

Neat game, I like the maneuverability with being able to crouch and grab walls. The controls were a bit weird, it feels like it was meant for a game-pad, not a keyboard. You've got a typo in your instructions, z shoots, not c.

It's quite tough, but I like the frantic feeling to it.

The Last Adventurer by Cosmologicon 2011-12-29T23:56:00

Impressive game, it seems quite well thought out.

The visuals and audio worked well together, and set a good mood for the gameplay, which unfortunately didn't really fit the 'Alone' theme. I get the idea, but it just didn't seem 'Alone'.

The gameplay itself was fun, even if a bit tough. I love the ability to rotate the screen, it adds a neat effect while not really changing the way it plays.

Overall, well done. One of my favourites so far.

An Empty Room by Cosr 2012-01-09T08:38:00

Very intriguing take on the theme. While it's both fun and awkward to scream at your computer, I hesitate to call it a "game". As someone previously said, it's more like an interactive art piece -- which is still cool.

I like it, and it rates well with me, but I would have liked to see a more tangible goal or direction.

First off, I love that this is HTML5, well done. Runs smoothly here, gameplay somewhat reminds me of VR training in MGS, which is good, because I loved those missions.

The programmer art is clean and simple, though it could have benefited from some audio.

The game itself is very short, seems to be more of a demo than a game. I'd love to see this up and running with a full library of levels.

Overall, good job.

Sol Solo by dcfedor 2011-12-21T21:12:00

The objective and how I get there is somewhat unclear, but once I understood it, I really enjoyed it. The last few enemies were tough to find, but I think that added to the 'alone'ness. Good job -- the art style was great too.

As the judging is coming to a close, I just wanted to thank everybody for taking the time to play my game. Your comments and feedback are invaluable, and are much appreciated.

Cheers,

I Should Go Back by ArchPenguinBot 2011-12-21T21:33:00

Love the choice of music for this. The story was wacky, but for some reason I didn't question it. I like the creativity in how you got the player to solve the various puzzles even though the mechanic itself was very simple. This screams Hitchhiker's Guide to me, and I love it. Also, capes ARE awesome.

Metamorphosis by JulioMarcos 2011-12-29T23:24:00

Interesting choice of deep quotes, considering the player is a bug eating junk food. The goal wasn't overly clear, and took some experimentation to figure it out. The visuals were well done.

You hit the theme decently well, simply beacuse you play a bug alone in a human's world, but the gameplay doesn't really help that feeling.

Lil' Zombies by eriksundqvist 2011-12-29T23:34:00

Nice little game, not overly innovative or unique, but it's fun. I like the choice of art style, it separates it from most other zombie games.

That said, there are a lot of zombie games.

The difficulty curve is quite steep, and by about level 6 it's nearly impossible to continue. With a bit of a more gradual curve, and maybe some choice in weaponry, it could be a fun mini-game.
